Heavily overrated by many
On the positive side, as many mention, this hotel has some of the friendliest staff we have ever met, the rooms are kept clean on a daily basis and its location can not be faulted, aside from being directly underneath the flight path for the nearby airport! U fortunately, that's where the positive side ends. Little Benidorm suits the hotel name rather than Iallysos. Our arrival was 4am and our greeting at reception was unfloored, or so we thought. Making our way to our room we noticed the main hallway carpets left a little to be desired, however the room was clean and tidy, the fridge was warm, a nice little added extra! Perhaps a good job there was no water in there! Water, oh yes, water, well I do hope no-one reading this expects water 'on tap' as part of the all-inclusive, it doesn't happen. Bottled water is available from the on site shop at reasonable cost, but come on, an all inclusive hotel.... I ask you?. Water is a commodity you get only at lunch and evening meal times and it's made quite clear you do not fill bottles from that supply. This leads nicely on to meals, which at the start of the 10 night stay (now there's another story), began quite reasonable considering the buffet style cafe. However, as time progressed it rapidly declined and unless your a pizza and chip lover, eat out. Less than luke warm meals on cold plates is not my ideal thinking of an evenings dining experience. Fortunately there are restaurants within close proximity, shame your pushed into the position of having to use them just to get a hot meal! Those who comment on a lovely restaurant must have found an alternative to the one we ate at. Now of course, nature becries that what goes in, to an extent, must come out! Do not use the pool area toilets (of which there is one toilet per gender), disgusting doesn't cut it..... there are more available in the main building basement which are better and do give you that bit more excercise reaching them. The pool.... busy, very busy and with added floating plastic cups as part of the entertainment. At least there all-inclusive. Try the beach maybe, directly beneath the overhead aircraft, it'll only cost you 6 euros per day, even though the beds belong to the 'all-inclusive' hotel...... Bit of a theme appearing here! Still, at least there's a bottle of water supplied in that price. Oh and don't forget to take your own towels, as this all-inclusive site, doesn't include an all-inclusive one, another euro per towel, per day. Then you get to find out, within 48 hrs of arrival, about the 10 night stay you've paid for, or think you have. Arrival at 4am on Thursday 8th September and check-out by Midday 17th September definitely does not calculate to 10 nights. So, unless you pay the extra 60 euros to extend the room until pick-up, (in our case 15 1/2 hours later) then you best get very well acquainted with the reception chairs. Not a place we will either revisit nor ever recommend. However, it will help keep our solicitor employed.More
Totally Relaxing Holiday
I booked this quite late for a break for my husband and I. We were given one of the bungalows around the garden area - fantastic! Huge with a big sitting area, 6ft bed, fridge, tv, modern bathroom and lots of drawer and wardrobe space. The food was really good with lots of choice. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner in the main restaurant (sat in the outside seating area as it was very peaceful there). Always plenty of choice and everything spotless. There is also food at the pool bar for those who prefer - plenty off hot and cold snacks. The whole hotel was very clean and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The games were ok during the day, although we chose to spend most days on the beach to benefit from the sea breeze. Only really BIG letdown was the evening entertainment. The stage needs moving and tables and chairs laid out in front of it and some decent acts booked to perform please.... Ialyssos centre is a 5 min walk away and has lots of lovely shops and bars etc. Nice t o visit in the evening. Bus stop for Rhodes town only 5 mins away and loads of buses run for less than £3 a trip. Defo worth a visit but don't get fleeced by the black 'ladies' who grab you as you stroll into the old town and demand cash for imparting their 'wisdom' and a tatty wrist band! We really loved this hotel and the location and would look to book again as soon as possible.More
I love this hotel. Second year and the staff remembered us. Very helpful, clean and lots of food to suit even the pickiest of eaters. Beach close by, bay shops 5 minutes away. Fab!!! Will be back again in the future. More
I cannot describe how wonderful the food was at this hotel. The choice was excellent; it was freshly made and if you had a specific diet or requirement they did everything they could to provide this. The staff, and especially the restaurant manager was so helpful. This was my first experience of going all-inclusive and they have set the bar very high.More
