Hotel Ialyssos Bay

New to the SuneoClub line-up, this hotel has clinched a great spot on a pebble and sand beach close to Rhodes town.

This place has all the hallmarks of a SuneoClub hotel, including the brand’s signature sunny décor and a buffet restaurant with live cooking stations.

The hotel looks out on Ialyssos Beach and is just a 10-minute drive from Rhodes Town. Plus, if daytrips are on the agenda, sights like the 2,000-year-old Filerimos Monastery are a 5-minute taxi ride away.

Ambience and friendliness

We had a week staying here. Charming, genuine staff. We had a balcony view towards Turkey... lovely. The food was wonderfully fresh, an amazing selection and each day was different. The 25metre pool is just beautiful and with a shallower end and so caters for all. I didn't have time to go to the beach or the tennis court as Rodos offers so much to see. It was great to have the local bus to take us in to Mandraki Harbour and onwards to the Old Town, Lindos (bus) or bus to Rhodes Acropolis. Great to have a Car Hire Desk in the hotel as we opted one day to avail ourselves and look further afield around Rhodes. Would love to go back one day....More

once again returned

we again returned to this hotel in October 2015 and again where greeted by the reception team who knew us by name. Again we found the staff fantastic, Arthur behind the pool bar immediately poured our favorite tipple without asking. As we had arrived late the Suneo team had just finished and when they saw us the greeting was beyond belief. In the morning Julia came straight over and it was as we had never go away. Much has been said about the food in this hotel, it is buffet and there is always a good choice, well prepared, and excellently presented. Just because some people can't find the type of food they eat at home is not a reason to give a bad report. The downside to this trip was one of the waitresses that we had previously know was not at work having recently had an operation, and we wish her a speedy recovery. The First Choice rep Matt is a joy to meet, his smiling face and quick wit, certainly added to the enjoyment. We had many happy hours with the four girl team of the entertainment, The team had to follow the script laid down by the Suneo Concept and followed a two week cycle. If guests want first class entertainment then I suggest they upgrade to a five star hotel. It had been said in one report that they had never seen the pool area being cleaned, I can only think that they were not early risers, the pool was cleaned during the night and the pool area was cleaned around 6.30 am as well as the sunbeds being repositioned. Once again a super visit to people I now regard as friends, the mission statement for the hotel is "come as strangers go as friends" I cannot disagree with that.More

An OK holiday

We had a very enjoyable relaxing holiday here, and staff very pleasant and helpful, we were let down by the beach aspect of the holiday which we prefer. Very pebbly beach BUT you have to hire the Sun Beds daily and hire the towels! We went late October and very quiet as everywhere is closing down and there were only a few beds on the beach so we never bothered as you also have to walk back to the hotel to fetch any drinks you want. As we were all inclusive this didn't work for us, probably spoilt by previous holidays with great beach and facilities, but if you are happy with a pool holiday the hotel is a good one overall.More

"Good hotel and Great hotel staff"

WE travelled 3rd October to 17th October 2015. Very clean and welcoming hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, always smiling and happy, nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms are good and clean, however the bed was uncomfortable as if we were sleeping on the floor. Food was ok, but got a bit boring towards the end of our holiday. But there is plenty of restaurants around to enjoy a change in menu and cheap. Day time and evening entertainment was ok. We would have been better not to have gone on an All Inclusive basis. Hotel is right under the flight path of all incoming flights to the island. But you do get used to them after a while. We had a room with a sea view which was ok but the sun doesn't get to shine on these rooms.More

Summer 2015. The Best.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic, however it's the people inside that make it truly a holiday experience that you'll cherish. It's no wonder that people, including myself, don't want to leave. Upon arrival you'll be met with friendly faces, genuine smiles and a warmth that will make you feel welcomed and valued from the very start. ROOMS: I have been in many of the rooms, from the first floor to the top and the bungalows outside, and every single one of them is great. If you want a relaxed night, and a good sleep then you'll be in for a treat as the beds are very comfy. If you don't want to sleep then you'll find that your room doesn't let much noise escape. FOOD: It's bloody brilliant, and you'll not want for anything. I've tried every dish and I've enjoyed them all. You have a huge selection, so bring an appetite with you. Unfortunately the only down side is that I now have to cater for myself, and I'll need a gym membership to get back to my fine figure. ENTERTAINMENT: The hotel is a Suneo Concept, and has an animation team that offer daytime and evening programmes. The Holiday Rep in the hotel was always a laugh, especially when he jumped in full uniform into the pool and joined in with the Aqua Fit program. STAFF/SERVICE: Hard working and exceeding expectation is the best way to describe the people you'll find here, and you'll be hard pushed to find somewhere that offers this level of service anywhere else. I couldn't and wouldn't have had such a memorable time if it was not for the people inside it. It was an absolute pleasure to know these people, and it was a joy to see the happiness they filled people's holidays with. QUICK MENTION: Nikos - This is the man who will organise your car hire, and make sure you have a great adventure while you're here. Never short of a friendly conversation, and always has time for people. An absolute gentleman. Matt - Your holiday rep who will make sure you're having a blast. I didn't need to trouble him for anything, but he comes across as a genuinely nice guy, charming and humble. In conclusion, if you haven't booked to stay here already then do it now and if you have booked, then you're in for a great time. I wish all the people at the Ialyssos Bay all the best of luck, and I hope that one day I'll cross your path again.More
