Just lovely

Just spent 2 weeks here with my husband we found the staff very friendly and helpful, rooms cleaned every day. Good variety of food each meal time. Pool clean with bar & snacks served throughout the day. Evening entertainment 'fun'. Only 50 yards to pebble beach. Handy for buses into Rhodes town. The best part about this hotel for me was only 1 small tv in bar area so was not bombarded with football. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.More

Excellent in every way

We stayed here for 2 weeks this September, the first week was my partner and myself and the second week we were joined by my Mum and Son as we got married in Rhodes. Well what can I say! From the minute we stepped into the hotel we felt welcome. All the staff are friendly and nothing is too much to ask. The hotel is spotless and the rooms cleaned daily. The all-inclusive menu was excellent. So much choice of mouth-watering foods on offer at every meal also snacks during the morning and afternoons. The bars served many local drinks included in the price, I would recommend the cocktails which were awesome and served in glasses as a pose to plastic glasses in other all inclusive hotels we have stayed in. On the day of our wedding a huge bowl of fruit, champagne and a card were left in our room which we found very touching. Everyone at the hotel strived to make our day special even though we did not marry there nor dine there after the wedding. We would recommend this hotel and feel it would take some beating. A******** We will be returning next year without a doubt.More

Exceeded our expectation

We returned from a lovely relaxing time at the Ialyssos Bay and were pleasantly surprised. We had been put off all inclusives in Greece after a bad experience a couple of years ago so we are pleased we took a chance on this hotel. The hotel was clean and very welcoming. The room was bright and airy. We had upgraded to a sea view and were put on the 3rd floor across from the lift. There was a bit of noise from people returning late at night/early in the morning however it is nice to hear people in good spirits enjoying their holiday so it didn’t bother us at all. The lobby was great with lots of sofas to have a drink on or allow your tea to go down. The bar was really cosy with a lovely selection of cocktails to try. The food was a million times better than expected. There was so much variety and I am pretty sure throughout the week I had something different every day. Lots of fresh salad, bread and a great variety of meat, fish, pastas, pies and other hot dishes. There was even sushi one night! Yum. The staff were so helpful and friendly too! The location of the hotel was right on the beach and a short walk from plenty of shops and restaurants. Although we were all inclusive, we did eat out one night as we like to support local businesses which suffer from the AI culture. There is a bus stop close by into Rhodes Town however we arranged a car hire from the gentleman in the hotel lobby who did us a great rate. So we went on to explore the island ourselves. We didn’t spend much time around the pool as we prefer the beach, but it seemed really clean and chilled. If you do go to the beach there is a charge for the sunbeds, however there was a member of staff there most of the day so you felt a little easier leaving your stuff when going for a paddle. Sea shoes are a must though! We picked a pair up really cheap in the resort. There were a few negative comments which I will contact the hotel with directly too; Although the room was spotless on arrival, I don’t feel the standard of cleaning was as we would have expected though the week. For example there was a long dark wavy hair (we are both fair) appear on our bathroom floor by the bin on the second day which was still there when we left. Also, I accidently got a bit of chocolate on the bedding on the first night which was again there when we left, leading me to believe the sheets weren’t changed. Being on the beach there was also the sand issue. The rooms were cleaned and beds made on a daily basis, however maybe there were so many rooms to get though, things can slip. No biggy, it was our mess. Secondly the mealtime experience could be improved if the lay out was thought through a little better. Just little things like having the tea bags away from the hot water in the morning so you had to queue for a tea bag, then get in the queue for the coffee machine to get milk and water. No plates by the toaster, no bowls by the pudding and my biggest bug bare was getting my hands on a spoon! Walked across that restaurant so many times looking for one as they weren’t with the other cutlery. Only one toaster caused congestion too. It would be lovely if there was a way of getting drink orders on the beach :-). I know there isn’t a waitress service around the pool so just wishful thinking. I only mention these things as I feel it is so close to being a 4* with a little more attention to detail. Perhaps this hasn’t been fed back. We will defiantly go back to this hotel and have already recommended it to family and friends.More

Good hotel - but things are done on the cheap, set your expectations accordingly

We stayed in October and had a pleasant holiday at the Ialyssos Bay Hotel. The rooms are modern and well kept. We booked the upgrade via Thomson and got given a spacious family room with sea view on the third floor - excellent we thought! But after a 2am arrival the next morning we discovered the room by the lifts to be incredibly noisy. We requested a move and got put on the second floor down the corridor which compromised the view a bit and certainly the space - although it was still big. I didnt mind too much and was assured I was still getting the sea view room I had paid for, despite them claiming the family room was more expensive and at the time of booking we'd booked the "top price room". All the staff were excellent, friendly, informative and helpful. I really can't fault them. They worked continuously hard to make everyone's holiday enjoyable. So great room, great staff... but... Things are done on the cheap though which is a shame as a bit of money spent on the all inclusive package per head would have improved things considerably. The alcohol is terrible, their mojito - mint alcohol based syrup with lemonade - it came out bright green. It was worse than the usual premix "slushy" style cocktails that some all inclusive fob you off with, and even when day turned to night and the activities turned to the indoor bar, the situation was exactly the same. Even if you wanted to throw some money at the situation there wasn't a brand named spirit in sight. Beer wasn't even a locally produced Mythos but instead was some unnamed stuff from a pump - a very light and extra fizzy carling rip off. You could get Mythos, Amstel and Hennieken in the hotel shop from 1 - 1.50 euros per can, so I started drinking that, but it was irritating having to pay for drink to get a good beer when on an all inclusive holiday. Food looked fairly unappealing but tasted actually very nice. They had quiet a lot of choice for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The desserts again though done on the cheap - their tiramisu being a coffee flavored jelly like angel delight mix. The pool scene was quiet cramped. So my lasting impression was that this was a budget all inclusive package set to the backdrop of a modern clean hotel with great staff. As a budget deal goes this is an excellent choice in hotel. ---- The rest of this review is just some info on the resort and isnt represented in the score above which is for the hotel not the holiday... We didnt think much of Trianda as resorts go. Couple of bars, a few Tavernas, a lot of building works on the main road. Its closeness to Rhodes town is a deffo plus. Its about 5 euros to Rhodes town for two adults. The bus runs every 15 minutes. We paid 12 euros after midnight to return to the hotel via taxi. Lindos is well worth a visit. For two adults around 30 euros on the bus going via Rhodes town (5 euros per adult per way to Lindos, last advertised bus back 6pm). Thomson were charging 55 euros for a 4x4 jeep adventure, 45 euros for a boat trip to Symi (this was around 25 from the harbous in Rhodes). Beer is currently around the 3.50 - 5.50 euro mark in Rhodes currently. Cocktails about 8 - 9 euros. Kostos in Trianda did one of the best Greece meals I've had (I've visited around 8 Greek Islands - so I'm no stranger to Greek food).More

Excellent Hotel in every way

Stayed here in September with family and we couldn't fault this hotel in any way. All of the staff were really friendly from management to cleaners. The rooms were spacious, modern and clean. As for the food there was an excellent choice which excelled any other All Inclusive I have stayed in, the choice was endless, the snacks were varied too. In the evening the drinks in the bar were served in proper size glasses, which makes a big difference. Various cocktails were included in the AIl Inclusive too. It is in an ideal location inbetween the airport (about 15 minutes away) and Rhodes town. The beach is just down a path, albeit a pebble beach, but the breeze all day makes it comfortable for sunbathing as it can get very hot around the pool.Sunbeds are charged at 4 Euros per person and this includes a bottle of water. You can take drinks from the hotel down to the beach also. All in all I would recommend this hotel and will definately be returning.More
