Fantastic

Have just come back after 2 weeks at this lovely hotel. From the moment you arrive you are welcomed. We arrived after the restaurant was closed. There was soup and bread which was great. The food could not be faulted. Plenty of it and very tasty. The staff were fantastic. The new trainees picked things up very quickly. Reception staff were always helpful. Especially our "Latin dancer". The bar staff were great fun and as with all the staff worked their socks off. The animation team were very hard working. The rooms were clean and spacious. The outside are was well kept. In all this was a very relaxing holiday thanks to the well run hotel. I'm sure we will be back. More

Cardiva,

Good value for 7 days all inclusive

my partner and I stayed for one week at this hotel from 14/5 (we would probably delay our stay again for 3 weeks due to a few dodgy weather days on and around our holiday stay). We stayed in a bungalow towards the rear of the development which was brilliant and very peaceful we had a lovely garden view with balcony and the accommodation was spacious and clean, the staff were lovely and everyone member of staff was helpful and very polite, the restaurant manager is extremely helpful, cheerful and amazing with people needing a little extra care, its lovely to see staff going above and beyond their required duties to make people feel special. :), the food, we thought was great always something among the choice to suit everyone, we put on weight so there is the proof in the pudding so to speak, ok not always baking hot but an excellent selection and very tasty too. Arthur the barman was lovely, as to were the entertainment team and they did well during the day with little events around the pool but this hotel did not offer what we would call good evening entertainment so the evenings were quiet mainly, seeing a lady knitting whilst her husband was reading was my lowest ebb!! So walking out to nearby bars seemed to be the best option but as early in the season they were mainly quiet too lacking the holiday atmosphere, Blaze a kareokee bar seemed the liveliest place about 10 mins walk away, very friendly and upbeat with some good singing. Yes we would return.... disappointing no sunbeds on the beach from our hotel yet. so we hopped on other hotel sunbeds no one approached us for payment though :), very stony beach so these are very necessary! to summarize great staff, clean adequate accommodation, varied selection of well cooked tasty food, disappointing beach and disappointing evening entertainment but the team did their best there just isn't the room for big shows or dancing. Thank you to all the staff we had a lovely weeks holiday and met some wonderful people. Thanks to Jane and Phil for fantastic singing at Blaze we really enjoyed our last night there. Great Break in Rhodes

We stayed at this hotel for 1 week in mid May....we found staff very friendly and helpful, the room we had was big clean and comfortable and the grounds very well kept. We went all inclusive which included cocktails and the food we got was good for variety, tasty and plentiful. Will stay again if were heading to Rhodes.More

Complete disappointment!

I booked a weeks holiday, all inclusive for three people. When the transfer coach was doing the drop offs from the airport, we were 15-20 minutes away from the airport which was a relief as we had been travelling all day. We were second to be dropped off and I was so pleased when the coach turned up at this hotel as the first was looked awful.. Upon entering the hotel, the reception/lobby area looked nice but we arrived quite late and so were very tired so didn't really pay attention. Upon check in we were given details of the hotel and was a bit annoyed that water had to be paid for, towels had to be paid for, safe had to be paid for, sun loungers on the beach had to be paid for...Not what I expected for all inclusive as I've been on many holidays and have always had these things included, maybe for a deposit which is refundable but never actually charged for the privilege. Anyhow, thought that it may just be the Greek way and having not visited Rhodes before, was not aware of this. Upon entering the room, I was mortified!! It looked OK, corridor areas etc were run down, it didn't appear clean but upon closer inspection things were just dated and old. For three adults, I was very disappointed that there were two single beds pushed together that moved and had a dip in the middle and the other bed was what I can only describe as a spring camp bed thrown in the corner of the room by the balcony door which made it very cramped and awkward for three adults. The room was very basic but extremely uncomfortable at night doe sleeping as there was no room and it felt extremely cramped! The shower was a tap attachment so had no pressure at all and took a long time for each of us to shower in the mornings/evenings, the WC is located behind the door which made manoeuvring awkward! All in all the room was a complete disgrace for what I was expecting. Soup and bread was put on for the main arrivals.. Or they called it soup but it was actually coloured water!! Was disgusting and tasteless and not what you want after travelling all day. We then decided to explore the grounds and resort, which took all of 2 minutes because the big pool is not big at all.. The sunbed area was tiny and the grounds are very small and minimal with not much to do at all! I could have cried at this point t as the pictures and description made it sound like it was bigger than it was. We had a drink in the lobby bar and was greeted with lots of English people drinking as much of the free alcohol as possible, we were ignored at the bar and didn't feel welcome. We decided to go to bed and hope that it would get better but it did not.. The food was repetitive, no additional ala Carte restaurants included to break up the same old food.. I am not a fussy eater at all and I love trying traditional foods but after day two.. I could not hack the same food that was Luke warm and sometimes very bland. I did have a tummy bug for 24 hours on day 5 along with another member of my group. The snacks at the pool bar were pretty much left over bread, ham, cheese from breakfast and left over chips etc.. Not nice! Beach is listed in description but is not a beach and you have to pay for sun loungers on the beach.. Not worth it at all and wouldn't bother because it's not a beach it's a pebble hill! Restaurants surrounding and Rhodes town were lovely and much better.. We preferred the food in the nice restaurants just outside of the resort and got us out and about saving us from going stir crazy of sleeping practically on top of each other in the tiny room. I was very sceptical about coming to a euro country as they are never as good as the countries outside the EU and I was right to be.. I would never return to this hotel.. Not if you paid me.. However I would potentially return to Rhodes but would stay in a different hotel.. This hotel is definitely not 3* plus!! Feel like I need another holiday to recover from the one I have just had here as it was not comfortable and relaxing.. Did highlight my concerns but was told no other rooms and that is the way it is.. No offering to try and make our stay more pleasant!More

Good Holiday for what we paid.

Just returned yesterday from a week at the lalyssos Bay and had a nice time but I do agree with some of the other guest reviews. The hotel is clean but there is a disgusting smell around the hotel and grounds. We had this smell just outside of our room but thankfully did not smell it inside of the room. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed if required. One thing I found strange is that there is a courtesy room to get changed in as you need to be out of your room at midday on the day of departure but they charge you 1€ for the use of a towel. The cost of keeping your room is excessive 40€ . I have used courtesy rooms in other hotels but never been charged to use a towel! The staff are always so friendly and helpful, especially Carol and Arthur in the bar, Julia who is the restaurant manager, and Dimitri the Tui rep who is always available and helpful. The entertainment team did their best during the day to involve the guests, and Ben was a hoot, however I do feel that there was a lack of entertainment and shows in the evening and on speaking to other guests, many felt the same about this point. The food at breakfast and lunch was usually good with lots of selection, however the evening food was not great. At times the food was not very hot . I am not a fussy eater but there were times that there was nothing that I could eat so we ate out which was not good as we were all inclusive so did not expect to have to spend money on food. The town of lalyssos was a 10 minute walk and had some good bars, shops and restaurants. We took a taxi to Rhodes Town for 12 euros which was lovely and worth seeing. On the whole we came to relax which is what we did and we met some lovely people who made the holiday. We would come back again if we got a reply cheap deal.More
