Great Holiday

Just returned from a week in the lalyossos Bay Hotel with my elderly mother. The hotel is very clean. our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels put in the bathroom. The food was very fresh, lots of lovely salads and fruit for the healthy eater. The artisan bread was a treat as were the lovely fresh made pizzas. There is food for all sorts of tastes in the restaurant. We really enjoyed our holiday at this hotel.More

A breeze of a time !!

My fiancé and I have just returned from a weeks stay after booking a last minute deal. After the madness at rhodes airport our transfer bus (first choice) dropped us off at the roadside where we had a 3minute walk to the hotel(I did see other company's drop people off right outside). However check in was swift and due to our arrival being delayed we had missed the evening meal but was kindly offered soup. We were in the hotel part so carrying our luggage was not an issue as reception is next to lifts. There is also accommodation the other end of the hotel and to get there you have to firstly go down 5_6 steps , back up another set of steps then along the poolside and follow the path ( not recommended if you have any mobility issues). The room was clean and spacious, the bed is big but only one pillow per person!! But ask reception and they will give you more. Air conditioning is free , our air conditioning unit did leak and I only discovered this after after slipping on the wet floor but thankfully I was OK. The safe is kept in wardrobe and was €40 for the week with €20 refundable. Hairdryer is kept in the dressing table draw. Food is your usual A/inc , I always found something I liked and enjoy trying new flavours .if your a fussy eater then you will struggle but the soup , chips and pizza are superb !! Drinks are located in the restaurant area which you can only access during serving times. The bar also has a hot /cold self serve facility which you can only access during opening hours. The pool bar is the only place you can get drinks during majority of the day so you have to constantly walk along the poolside. There are no water stations within the reception area so it was easier to purchase a few bottles from the shop !! I really think they need to review the drinking facilities. The beach is only a 1 minute walk past the tennis court, its shingle and beach shoes are needed (they sell these at the shop and in the surrounding shops for around €8 ) sunbeds €3.50 each. The sea is clear but can be a bit choppy. If you take a left turn after the tennis courts and follow the road it will take you to taverners and shops. The little red train for €7 each will take you on a tour around the village. Bus stop near the hotel will take you to rhodes for €2.60 each (all buses go into rhodes so can get very crowded) and around €15 if you get a taxi back. Location of the hotel is only a short ride from the airport so you will see and hear the planes flying over , this didn't bother us and with this hotels little faults if the price was right I would definitely return !! Kathryn N,

Perfect for a week chilling

Just returned from a last minute one week break to Ialyssos Bay. I was worried at it being a 3* plus hotel but all the positive reviews put my mind at rest. The hotel is a short walk to a lovely seaview café called ''Patties'' with great music, food and sunsets to be had. It's also a short walk into the main central area with some lovely cocktail bars and eatery's. Only a couple of negatives but first the positives- Food is in abundance, cooked well, hot and the choice at every meal is commendable, if you cannot find anything then I'm not sure what you eat. In between the main meals there are always snacks and fresh fruit available at the pool bar. The drinks are ok but spirits are not upto much, the wine is palatable and beer and cocktails are good and a great choice. The pool area is busy but there is a large grassed area which is a lot quieter and there is never a shortage of beds. The rooms are basic but everything you need and clean and maintained daily for you. Reception are is very nice and well kept plenty of seating and check in was no problem, although if you are elderly you have to find your own room and take your own luggage so it may be a problem for some. We used the courtesy room on day of departure which was ok for a quick freshen up before coming home. The negatives only one really, the gardens are not well kept at all, they could be beautiful but the grass is dry and solid mud in some parts, sunbeds are not really kept in check and tidied up daily so it all looks a bit messy.More

All round good hotel

My boyfriend and I went for a weeks holiday to the hotel during July. The staff were excellent, very friendly and happy to help with any enquiry or request. The pool area was very lively with activities going on throughout the day or you could sit on the grass area which was quieter. There was plenty of choice of food and drink throughout the day. The beach area was okay, no sand just pebbles which wasn't great but with 'water shoes' there would be no problem! The sea was calm and warm to go in. Overall the hotel was very clean and well run. I would go to this hotel again.More
