We have just returned from Iallyssos Bay as a family of 3 adults and 2 children (ages 6 and 9). Firstly, I must totally agree with other reviews that, the staff do go out of their way to help with anything you need and they certainly did with us overan incident with another adult. However, both rooms air con leaked so often you would walk into wet patch on the floor and because of this, our room started to grow mould quite quickly. When reported, it was painted over but started to come through again which, tells me that this happens on a regular basis and instead of dealing with the problem, it's just painted over. The sheets and towels are cleaned every day but we did have lipstick from previous holidaymakers on dressing table for a couple of days until I cleaned it myself. The area around the pool is extremely slippery and there were falls, including my grandaughter who ended up hitting her chin on the hand bar as she got out of the pool. The cafe area is also extremely wet and slippery most of the day. In my opinion, because you are allowed large rubber rings, lilo, bat and balls in the pool, it can at times be difficult to just swim and balls often end up out of the pool where sunbeds are. As for the entertainment, I would give this 2 star. Entertainment is very poor, both in the day and evenings. There is an large inside area to sit but all you have is some music playing. It seems such a waste of space as they could do so much more and have a stage with entertainment. There are no table and chairs to sit at of an evening around the stage, just a row of plastic chairs of which some are quite close to the pool. Food, although plentiful, most dishes were quite bland and repetative. It did seem that what food did not get eaten at breakfast, was put into other dishes for lunch or evening meal. We are not fussy eaters at all. Planes go over most of the day and are very noisy and some quite low. Beach and Pattys bar are a must as we loved it there and the Ialyssos area. We did have a nice time in Ialyssos but I would not choose to go here again.More

Escape to the Sunshine
Me and my Mum were searching for a last minute holiday. When we found the Ialyssos Bay Hotel I could not have been more excited. On arrival I was impressed beyond it's good reviews. From the minute I got there I felt welcomed, relaxed and at ease. The ladies on reception were so nice, well informed and helpful. The restaurant and bars were very clean and hygienic, the foods was fresh, of good quality and varied. If you are a fussy eater like me, they still cater for your needs. Especially the pancakes and waffles in the morning, cooked by NIkos. The rooms were bright and cheerful, we had a great view of the pool. Our room was cleaned every day and the cleaners were a delight themselves. There is a wide range of activities throughout the day and evening, my favorite being water aerobics and water polo, even if I did only watch!! Matt, our Rep was a delight, he was enthusiastic, well informed, caring and friendly. He was about when he should have been, but not at all pushy. Always there to welcome you with that cheeky wink. Make sure to say hello to Arthur at the pool bar - what a lovely gentleman. We were lucky enough to meet some wonderful people who made the holiday even more enjoyable. Happy Days!!!! :)More

We went here not really knowing what to expect. We needn't have worried. For the price you could not find many hotels to better this one. Our room was a garden room and enormous with everything we could need, and if there was any problems, our rep. Matt sorted it out no problem. The food was plentiful and of a very high standard. The best thing though was the pool. Complete with lifeguard, the pool was immaculate. I can honestly say that it was the cleanest pool I have ever seen or been in while on holiday. All the staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. All in all, a tremendous holiday and would definitely recommend this place. A very special mention to 4 people. First, Matt the Thompson rep. All round great guy who just wanted you to enjoy your stay. Second, Julia the restraunt manager. An absolute delight, always a smile and welcome for you. Last but not least, Valyssos and his trusty English sidekick Jen who man the lobby bar. Brilliant.More

We stayed here for the first 2 weeks in July and had an amazing time. Room was lovely, spacious and clean. Food was good and drinks nice but a bit weak. Restaurant staff were lovely as were the reps especially George from Essex! The pool bar was nice and snacks ok but not great, evening entertainment was great in some nights but average on others. Karaoke and Mr and Mrs were fun. Hotel shop was reasonably priced. The location is lovely just a short walk from a number of nice bars and shops. The beach is nice but you will need beach shoes as it is very stony. A couple of negatives don't rely on the free wifi it's very weak and it is very slippery around the pool so be careful. If this is your first visit to Rhodes you must go to the old town, it's amazing More
