Basic Clean Hotel

We spent 4 adult person for two weeks holiday Ialyssos Bay Hotel. The hotel was basic tidy, but respond no more than 3 * rating. The hotel reception and lobby bar were clean and comfortable. Mini-market located lobby-floor, there was in a wide range of goods and reasonable prices. Instead on the ground floor, public areas was a terrible smell of mildew. Women's restroom was three toilet cubicles and bottom of each door was the whole door width of 10-20 cm dark mildew stripe (water damage?). The smell was just awful. In addition, during the entire two week stay only one hand wash-basins taps working. The hotel staff was really nice and always wish welcomed by the restaurant and asked "How are you." Our room cleaner was absolutely wonderful. She always smiling and put flowers in our room. The staff was the best aspects of the hotel along with the food. The food was varied and had a lot of options, as well as starter, main course and desserts for all meals. Food presentation was beautiful. The only minus were sea creatures, who were badly made and tasted bad. Cons also the fact that the drinks was not made for the right ingredients, but from ready mixes. Our room was a bungalow and it was in our opinion the best location. There had the shortest distance to the main building, to pool and pool bar (the pool water was really cold). If something bad, then the stage was quite close and the evening program was quite well in the room. Our room was in the nearest bungalow, but if you want peace and quiet, then the furthest bungalows are right for you. Our bungalow was intended for 2-4 persons, but is definitely more suitable for two people because the room had all the supplies only two people (eg. Mugs / chairs on the balcony). However, at the request of these were brought, but it was strange that the matter had not been taken into account in advance when the room was booked for four person. Two were forced to sleep at the same angle on the couch, and they did not even have quilts, but just the sheets, which was really cold to sleep. Sure, the coverlet would have been able to use, but who knows that how many of people have been used those before us and when those are last washed, so we did not really have wanted to use them. Those who sleep in a double bed they was in normal lovely bedclothes, so again was taken into account only two people. Air-conditioning was extremely effective, but did not work taking into account all passengers. When in bed sleepers was a good temperature to sleep, then sofa was just too hot and correspondingly the couch sleepers was good to have, then bed sleepers freeze. Our vacation early days it rained really a lot of water, when mini-golf course was flooded for several days, because they are not drained on their own, which was a bit unusual. After a few days, the employee went to empty them. Hotel nearby the beach was stony beach and there was a really tedious to go for a swim, when we did not have swimming shoes. I would definitely recommend the acquisition swimming shoes. Sun chair rental price included one half-liter bottle of water. All inclusive was not inclusive of the beach, but you can to buy drinks for example Patty's the beach bar. The beach umbrellas has button, whereby you can call in Patty's bar waiter Within walking distance are many shops and restaurants. In the beach a depart "tourist" train which circulates around Ialyssos area and lasted for about an hour. Plus comes the hotel, the fact that they were however flexible. Initially we are going on a trip for 3 people and was reserved the bungalow for 2-3 persons. Later a holiday wanted to leave to the fourth person, but travel agent no longer had larger rooms available. So I contacted the hotel directly, which they happily arranged for us a larger bungalow. Big Thanks to Christina when arranged for us a larger bungalow. Our vacation Hotel Ialyssos Bay was pretty good, but the second time we do not spend our holiday in this hotel.More

Disapointed

Don't bother paying the top prices for a nice double room with sofas and TVs because you won't get it we payee the same as a family room 700 pound each for. A week and we got a room with two single beds together and a tiny room with tiny balcony it was a nice hotel but very disappointed at the room as we paid for a good room everyone else there said they paid much less and got the room we paid for More

You can get a bus into Rhodes for 2 euro. Trips can be booked at hotel reception. Overall a fantastic holiday would definitely go back . 😎☀️😁More

Ambience and friendliness

We had a week staying here. Charming, genuine staff. We had a balcony view towards Turkey... lovely. The food was wonderfully fresh, an amazing selection and each day was different. The 25metre pool is just beautiful and with a shallower end and so caters for all. I didn't have time to go to the beach or the tennis court as Rodos offers so much to see. It was great to have the local bus to take us in to Mandraki Harbour and onwards to the Old Town, Lindos (bus) or bus to Rhodes Acropolis. Great to have a Car Hire Desk in the hotel as we opted one day to avail ourselves and look further afield around Rhodes. Would love to go back one day....More

Lovely hotel.

We've been to Ialyssos Bay twice now and we've also recommend this hotel to our family (two aunties and two cousins), who visited this year as well. We love how quiet it is and at the same time very close to the beach and with restaurants and bars just a short stroll away. There is also a bus stop nearby with frequent buses to Rhodes Town. Staff have been nothing but helpful and friendly. The first year we stayed in a bungalow and the second visit was in the main hotel. Both were great. Love the chill out gardens where my fiancé and I could just relax and read. Food is alright. Nothing fancy and vegetarians would struggle (I'm pescetarian).More
