With a beachfront setting, huge pool and serene spa, the Blau Varadero has tropical retreat written all over it.
Varadero’s white-sand beach underlines this high-rise hotel – the wooden walkway that leads through the grounds will take you to it. The waterside setting means the hotel gets fantastic sea views, too.
Tropical gardens hide a massive pool and a chic spa, while on the dining front you’ve got a triple helping of restaurants to pick between.

From arriving at reception to when we left, the staff was friendly, helpful, always attentive. The hotel is so stylish and the architecture, just amazing even spectacular the way the central area is laid out . The dinning area and variety of food is very impressive, as is the outside. The pool area gardens, the walk through to the beach are beautiful and immaculate. Our room was beautiful a huge comfortable bed, a balcony with great views. Overall it was comfortable; relaxing with evenings spent having a drink and listing to live musicians in the very comfortable beautiful bar. We would go again anytime. More
Lovely hotel but too quite as a whole!
The hotel itself is a lovely hotel. Very big, clean and large variety of food choices. The beach and the pool I'd say are by far the best iv been to. Maid service is great I love the towel art that's a great touch. The only reason I give this a 4/5 really is one being the area, it's in the middle of know where. Not particularly the hotels fault I think it's Varadero in general is very quite. I like to have a walk about and explore by myself and there wasn't really anywhere around to do this. Everything is pretty much hotel based. Also the wifi if you decide to buy it is very unreliable- not that this is a problem as your on holiday but i wouldn't recommend spending your money on it. Lastly if there is anything you want to buy outside the all inclusive package in the hotel the prices are very expensive for example pool inflatables etc so probably remember to take your own. But as a whole a lovely relaxing hotel just abit to quite for my personal preference. More
Excellent hotel and fantastic staff
I didn't know what to expect when we booked our holiday at Blau Varadero, I have only been once to an all inclusive resort and didn't have a great holiday experience due to lager louts and unruly children. We booked with Thomas Cook a first for us and our trip was over The Christmas break. We were picked up after arriving in Cuba and taken to our hotel. We flew into Varadero. On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by the staff and a glass off bubbly, I won't say champagne as I don't think it was. As this was a package tour it took some time to check in. It wouldn't have been a problem if the other holidaymakers had listened to what was being said and didn't make a nuisance of themselves with the staff. We were allocated a room on the 6th Floor at the front of the hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable although a bit tired, the same with the bathrooms. Our view was not great as the grounds away from the hotel need a bit of work done to it. I was disappointed that we didn't have a pool view room but quickly changed my mind as we had the sun from sun rise to sunset and were able to sit on the balcony in the afternoon. The hotel is very clean, and the public spaces are very modern. As I said I have been to an all inclusive once before, but not in Cuba and was surprised by the quality and quantity of the food. It was very good and a lot was freshly cooked for you. We enjoyed the fish, as there is a lot of choice at lunch and dinner. Round the pool at lunchtime there is like a little burger bar which you can get, burgers, chicken, hot dogs etc, it was very popular and am not surprised as the food was good from there. Whilst we were there they had the Christmas gala dinner and what a show they put on for us. Carol singers and a glass or 2 of bubbly before our dinner absolutely fantastic. When we went through to the dining room the effort that was put in by the staff shone through, what a fantastic spread they put on for everyone. The international restaurant is a must the food there is really nice. I wasn't impressed with the Mexican Restauarant but that was because of our choices. If you stay around the pool area they have different activities throughout the day, shooting, Pilates, yoga, aqua gym, archery etc, some of these are also done at the beach oh and Tai Chi. On Fridays they have a Cuban day where there dancers, there is a hog roast with mojito and someone squeezing sugarcane for you to try. There is entertainment throughout the days and over Christmas it was well received. Can I also say I have never been to a hotel where all the staff are exceptional and I mean all the staff. They were friendly treated you like friends and nothing was too much trouble for them. I noticed some of the guests could be rude and not say please and thank you when asking for drinks or food. If you were polite to them they remembered you and you always got a nice smile from them. On another note wifi is not good. You pay nearly £2.00 approx but it isn't very good, very low download speeds and virtually non existent. Over all we had a great time here. I would also like to say that this is my opinion on what I thought of the hotel regardless of what others have said before me.More
Excellent holiday hotel
We were at the hotel over New Year and the staff really worked hard to make it a special occasion. Food was lovely Good pool with plenty of sun lounges at the pool and on the beach. very poor internet connection More
Fi's 50th birthday celebrations
Wonderful hotel excellent staff in all departments. Hotel is very clean with a range of amenities. All inclusive breakfast and lunch were very good but evening meal was poor. The roast meats were over cooked and casseroles had more bones and gristle than meat! 2 soup options each evening mainly meat based but could really do with one veggie and one meat More
