Roughly 40 kilometres off Krabi’s coast, the Andaman Sea is home to a twin set of islands. Ko Phi Phi Don and Ko Phi Phi Leh are contoured with sandy coves and seaside caves. If the sandy stretch at Maya Bay, on Ko Phi Phi Leh, looks familiar to you, it’s because it was used to film the Hollywood blockbuster The Beach. Another big draw in this area is the Viking Cave. The walls of this coastal cave are daubed with prehistoric paintings.
