On Coral Bay holidays, the golden beach gets the green light from families and a Blue Flag from the sand inspectors.

A beach to brag about

As far as sandy beaches go, those along the Paphos region’s coastline have earned themselves enough Blue Flags to make bunting. And Coral Bay boasts one of the best. The cornflake-coloured sands here are sprinkled along a wine glass-shaped shoreline, where the water is clean, calm and only knee-deep for a decent distance out. It’s no wonder it’s such a hit with families.

Sunbathing and snorkelling

Not only is the beach a looker, but it has the goods to back it up, too. You’ve got plenty of loungers and parasols to go around. There’s a watersports centre where you can get rigged up to go water-skiing or windsurfing. And as you’d expect from this place’s name, the diving scene’s top-notch – head out on a boat trip and you might even be lucky enough to spot a sea turtle.

Stuff to see

For when you need to refuel, restaurants and cocktail bars are at the ready along Coral Bay Avenue, just behind the beach. There’s a play park and minigolf course on this street, as well. For fully fledged days out, you’ve got a zoo and a waterpark within a half-hour drive. A history geek’s must-visit, the Tombs of the Kings, and the city of Paphos, which was the European Capital of Culture for 2017, bulk up the sightseeing selection.
