Laidback and pretty as a picture, Troulos holidays are all about chilling in the forest-edged bay and savouring tasty Greek treats.

On the shore and inland

Picture sandy beaches and twisting country lanes, and you've got Troulos – located on Greece's North Aegean island of Skiathos. At the Blue Flag award-winning beach, you can choose to work on your tan or take up a new watersport. A village taverna's never far away, plus the capital – trendy Skiathos Town – is under a 20-minute drive.

Pick your beach

Troulos Beach is a showstopper, or you can hire a speedboat to take you to a more secluded strip of shore – they're tricky to get to on foot. Aim for the smaller stretches at the headlands of the main beach. Koukounaries Beach is on a lagoon, and you can't get more private than that.

Capital gains

The island’s capital, Skiathos Town, is a quick drive along the coast. The old town's Venetian citadel and cobbled streets provide photo opportunities galore, while the newer end is brimming with trendy cocktail bars and boutiques. Make an evening of it with dinner at a seafront taverna.
