Tucepi holidays deliver bumper portions of natural beauty, with mountains and off-shore islands competing for your attention.

Scenic setting

Tucepi’s just a drop in the ocean compared to the mountains which loom over it. They’re part of the Biokovo range, which collect silver in the race for Croatia’s highest. A pea-green carpet of trees unfurls towards the shoreline, where a strip of tangerine-coloured rooftops covers the final chunk of land. Spin yourself 180°, and you’ll be eyeing up a shoreline that’s lauded for its good looks.

Pebble-brushed promenade

Churches from the 14th and 18th century manage podium finishes on the sights-to-see-list here, but top spot goes to clean-as-a-whistle Tucepi Beach. The whole town cuddles up close to the Adriatic Sea, and smooth pebbles are heaped along the waterfront for more than a mile. A handsome marina muscles in midway along, with fishing boats nudging against smart yachts.

Sail away

Pop north along the Makarska Riviera, and boat trips to some of the area’s big names are on the cards. You can skip across the bay to the island of Brac, where the beaches swap out stone for sand. Neighbouring Hvar waves its arms for attention, too, and lines up culture-filled towns and the latest instalment of pinch-yourself scenery.

Activity central

The landscape around Tucepi’s certainly easy on the eye, and there’s bags of substance to go with the style. A thousand-metre zip line whizzes above the treetops, and the watersports offering at ground level sees banana boats and jet-skis earn their spot in the marina. Walkers and climbers, meanwhile, get a natural playground in the form of the neighbouring mountain range.
