Songkran Festival
Also dubbed the Water Festival, this celebration of Thai New Year begins with the sprinkling of water over Buddha statues, and ends with a full-on water fight. It’s become a major event at beaches all over Phuket, where tourists and locals soak each other with water pistols, garden hoses, buckets, and just about anything else they can get their hands on.
