This modern hotel is in the heart of Benalmadena, just a five-minute walk from the beach. Bars and cafes are on the doorstep and just a bit further away is Paloma Park, a big open space with a huge lake.
The hotel itself is hard to miss. A large white building set on a hill, it nudges its way up into the Benalmadena skyline. So if it’s views you’re after, request a room on one of the upper floors. Talking of the rooms, this place is made up of a mix of bedrooms and studios. They’re both firmly from the modernist school of design, but with the studios being a more recent addition to the hotel, looks-wise they’re a bit more cutting-edge. Expect Scandinavian-style furniture, walls painted in accent colours like muted orange and lime, and well-equipped kitchenettes. Bedrooms, meanwhile, are just as comfy but less of a style statement. Satellite TVs come as standard in both.
Outside, there’s a huge sun terrace that’s bordered by the hotel on one side and a lawn on the other. The pools are out here, too. One is a straightforward rectangular number set into the centre of the terrace, while there’s a smaller kid’s pool on the lawn.
As for organised entertainment, there’s plenty going on for both adults and kids. The entertainment team sorts out day and evening activities like flamenco shows, party nights and live music, while children get their own Thomson Kidzone clubs.
Lastly, there’s the food. It’s a buffet with plenty of Mediterranean favourites, so you can pick and choose what you fancy. But the weekly highlight has to be the gala buffet. It’s served with sparkling wine and followed by dancing.
All rooms have satellite TV and telephone. Standard rooms have 2, 3 or 4 beds, 4 bedded rooms sleep maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children up to 12yrs. Single rooms available.
