Costa Rica may be little – you can see both the Caribbean and Pacific waves from its highest point – but it packs a lot in. For adventure, head to its national parks, cloud forests and tropical rainforests where you can spot wildlife like monkeys and sloths or go wild with zip wiring and white-water rafting. Of course, you could just discover its lazy side on a pristine beach where you can de-stress with a fruity ‘frescos’ cocktail.
Costa Rica is in Central America, with the Pacific Ocean on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other.
Discover the amazing healing properties of hot volcanic mud in Rincón de la Vieja, then feel the cascading spray of the waterfall as it cleanses and refreshes your skin.
You can soak up the sun and surf on a stroll along Tamarindo Beach’s golden sand. Surfers flock here from around the globe for the waves and funky atmosphere, with hip surf shops, bars and restaurants lining the beach.
With its pale shore made from little seashells, Playa Conchal is one of Costa Rica’s best beaches, with its crystal-clear water perfect for snorkelling.
The peaceful sands on the Gulf of Papagayo are a fantastic place for romantic walks, taking in the scenic surroundings and turquoise waters on your holiday in Costa Rica.

Tamarindo is the place to party: you can enjoy live street entertainment, dance the night away in clubs and sip cocktails in Ibiza-style chill-out bars on the beach.
