You’ll find this place in Kokkini Hani, just a few minutes from a tourist-ready beach. Big city Heraklion is a 15-minute cab ride away, so from a location point of view it’s good if you want to savour a bit of the island’s north. The complex itself is home to 19 self-catering apartments. Size-wise they’re pretty generous, and the owners – the very affable Patsourakis family – maintain them to a fantastic standard. In terms of extras, there’s a small pool and a taverna. Entertainment takes the form of karaoke, live music and the odd Greek night. If that’s all a bit OTT, retreat to the bar which has Sky TV.
