In Sa Caleta on Ibiza’s southern coast - a holiday spot that’s got all the ingredients for an utterly relaxing holiday. A dusting of hillside villas gravitating towards a picturesque natural harbour, this little place draws its fame from its fairytale beach. Families flock here in summer because the cushiony sands are perfect for little feet and the waters warm and safe for kids. Better still – and here’s the main attraction for grown-ups – there’s a fabulous restaurant perched above. Take a seat at the famous Sa Caleta eatery and you’ll be treated to scrumptious Ibizan delicacies, most centred on the fresh fish and seafood caught daily from the local waters. And once you’re full, work off your meal by strolling to the Phoenician ruins – sun-baked stones and walls dating back to 650BC and set against eye-popping sea views. Want to spread your wings? A different Ibiza awaits nearby and it’s well worth sampling. At Cala Jondal and La Salinas beaches, you’ll find chill-out music bars, trendy restaurants and watersports stretched along sugary sands. And close by, there’s Ibiza Town and Las Salinas salt flats. With salt layers that shimmer in the heat, Las Salinas is a sight to behold. As is Ibiza Town – a bohemian whitewashed capital with an atmospheric old quarter, buzzing shops and high-voltage nightlife.
