About Addu Atoll
This heart-shaped atoll is formed of thirty-two islands, four of which are linked by causeways and a main road. The island of Gan has an airport and had a Royal Air Force base during World War Two. The southernmost atoll, Addu lies just below the equator and has a couple of island resorts and fantastic diving opportunities.
