Often called the Turkish Riviera, Side lies on a golden peninsula. Alanya's stunning coastline offers caves and two sweeping beaches, including Cleopatra Beach, with its views of the majestic fortress. Belek also offers fabulous beaches.

Emerald River Cruise
Calling all bargain hunters! Visit Manavgat's bustling market and then take a cooling cruise down the Emerald River to a local beach. Eat lunch on board before stopping off at the spectacular Manavgat Waterfalls.

Food and drink

Traditional lokantas (local restaurants) mix with chic international restaurants and streets lined with tables. Delicious seafood is the Mediterranean Coast's main speciality, with dishes including Midye Tava, deep-fried mussels or simple grilled fish. Dine on salads served with Dolmas, stuffed vegetables and vine leaves, or Kôfte, tasty meatballs. Finish meals with apple tea, local liqueurs or Kahve, unique Turkish coffee.

As evening draws in, Alanya comes alive with seafront bars and late-night discos. Dance floors can be found in many of Side's bars and restaurants. For quieter evenings wander the region's picturesque streets and harbours or dine in waterfront restaurants.
