Jamaica offers a tremendous variety of cuisine, with international and fast food menus alongside traditional dishes. Seafood, Jerk Chicken and Jerk Pork are favourites and Rice n' Peas is served with almost everything. Mango and pawpaw are eaten for breakfast and chewing on sugar cane is a popular treat. Try refreshing coconut water, straight from the nut, local Red Stripe® beer, Jamaica's world-famous rum and Tia Maria®, made from Blue Mountain Coffee beans.
Jamaica's Blue Mountain Coffee is considered among the best in the world and is widely available in gift shops and supermarkets. Other traditional Jamaican goods, from woodcarvings and prints to woven straw items and handcrafted jewellery, can be bought from local markets and roadside stalls.
