Things are done on a grand scale here – starting with a massive sea-view pool. Around here, you’ve also got hot tubs, a snack bar and a pizzeria. Other meals are dished up at a buffet restaurant, an Italian, a beach bistro and a café. After dark, it’s handed over to a clifftop bar and a nightclub. Meanwhile, daytimes tick along at the spa and tennis courts, plus there’s a jam-packed poolside programme.
SPORTS & ACTIVITIES
This isn’t a relax-by-the-pool kinda place. The activity list rattles off everything from bingo and trivia to volleyball, yoga and pilates. Little squirts have a hotel-run kids’ club to mess about at, too.
Alternatively, try and get a rally going on one of the tennis courts.
- Daytime activity programme
The activities programme changes each day. But to give you an idea, they've previously had volleyball, water polo, quizzes, dancing lessons, table tennis, pilates and yoga on the list.
FOOD & DRINK
You don’t have to stick to Mexican at the buffet – the themed nights give you a tour of Asia and Brazil via your taste buds. You can make a pit stop at the pizzeria* for lunch, or grab snacks from the pool bar.
Later, the poolside bar shifts gears into a steakhouse*. A beach bistro and an Italian joint wrap up the à la carte* lot. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, hotfoot it to the Cupcake Café*.
- Cupcake Café*
This colourful café serves up coffee and cake throughout the day.
- Whale Watchers Bar
- The Stones Club*
- Bar Finisterra
- La Palapa swim-up bar
- Tortuga Beach Bistro*
- Agave snack bar and steakhouse*
- Emiliano's Osteria - Italian restaurant*
- Don Diego buffet restaurant
This place is open for breakfast and dinner. Dinners are a different theme each night, so you'll be able to try out Mexican, Asian and Brazilian dishes.
- Dress code
There's a smart-casual dress code at the restaurants. Think full-length trousers, closed shoes and a shirt with sleeves. Swimwear and flip flops aren't allowed.
HEALTH & BEAUTY
There’s a real desert vibe at the spa*, with cacti, sand and stone walls. Facilities-wise, you’ve got a pool, a sauna and a gym with top-notch views.
Grown-ups aren’t the only ones in line for some pampering. Little’uns can get their own facials*, mermaid massages* and hair braids*.
The good-sized gym is kitted out with a mix of cardio and weights machines. You'll find it in the spa area.
- Hot tub/whirlpool*
- Beauty salon/treatments*
White parties, circus performances and tribute shows are the usual suspects in the evening. Or you can chillax at the Whale Watchers Bar, which does what it says on the tin.
The Rolling Stones would feel right at home in the nightclub. There’s even a light-up dancefloor to spin and twirl on.
- Kids' club
The colourful kids' club is packed with pint-sized tables and chairs, plus toys and video games. And just outside, you'll find a sandy playground with a slide, swings and a trampoline.
- Evening entertainment programme
The pool’s a whopping lagoon number with loads of twists and turns. A couple of hot tubs are cuddled into its curves, too. And a bevy of Bali beds up the luxe factor for sunbathers.
You don’t need to leave the H20 for a drink – just wade over to the swim-up bar. If you fancy a change of scene, there are sunbeds and thatched umbrellas dolloped on the beach.
- 3 outdoor pools
You'll have three pools to try out. One of them is a sprawling lagoon-style number that meets the beach and shares a terrace with a couple of whirlpool baths. There's also a smaller pool and one for over 14s.
- Outdoor whirlpool baths
- Free Wi-Fi
- 24-hour reception
