The dining scene here deserves a mention. As well as two buffet places – one with an al fresco terrace – there are two speciality eateries. One serves Canarian cuisine, while the other deals in Asian dishes. There are plenty of sports and fitness classes to work off the calories, plus two big pools for swimmers.

There’s a games room, a playground and a hotel-run kids’ club. On top of that, you can pick from a schedule of RiuFit group workout classes.
