Ariadni

Clean, well maintained apartments (and Studios), all set in a fantastic location. The scenery of tree covered hills around the Ariadni and the peace and quiet make this a really relaxing holiday base. The accommodation is family run and this shows in the friendly service, nothing is too much trouble and always comes with a smile. In the evening you can unwind with a drink listening to your favourite tune, thanks to George behind the bar. Nearby there are plenty of excellent restaurants, Maistrali, Jimmy's, Infinity Blue, Platanias etc.etc. The local bus service is great and the beautiful beach is a short stroll away, what more could you want? I can't think of anything!

The apartments are great, clean and charming, the beds however are unyielding and so are the pillows, but overall the accommodation is first class, the pool is fab as is the pool bar. The owners are second to none, they are friendly and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. But, there is a slope, or climb from the bottom to the top, and at eighty five my husband struggled, especially as it is not mentioned in the broucher; that the bus drops you off at a stop ten minutes walk from the apartment, you have to find your own way there, and then you have to climb to the top,The rep gives you a hand written map? It’s is not that bad but it was and still is an issue. The holiday brouchers need to be more honest, as anyone with mobility problems will find it difficult ,and should avoid this place but if you are able bodied it is a wonderful place to stay and I would recommend it unequivocally, the beach is ten minutes walk and is amazing, Skiathos town is amazing and the tavernas that are amazing, in ten years it will be so built up it will be ruined, so get here whilst you can. But remember there is a very big slope

The Ariadni is a beautiful family run apartment block which is a leisurely 15 minute walk from the beach. There’s 5 family apartments-all on the upper floor -and 10 studios on the ground floor. We stayed in a family room which was immaculately clean and came with a large balcony which overlooked the pool. We paid for air con which was well worth the money. The pool and bar area are fantastic! We were there last week July/first week of August and we always managed to get four beds by the pool. It is very relaxed with no one putting towels down to save beds. The pool is beautiful. The pool bar sells a good selection of drinks (great cocktails!) and a variety of snacks (chips, sandwiches & omelettes) and is open 10-4 for food. It’s open all evening for drinks. There’s a variety of restaurants and tavernas on the road from the Ariadni to the beach and several more in the tiny village itself. We counted about 17 places to eat within walking distance. They vary from the beautiful (if a little more pricy) Infinity Blue which has stunning views over the sea to the My Stop gyros snack bar which was cheap and cheerful. We would recommend eating at Calma which is literally 20metres from the Ariadni. Serving absolutely amazing home cooked food. There are two supermarkets close by. One, slightly cheaper one, is 50m from the Ariadni-left out of the driveway. The other is slightly bigger and can be found near the beach. Other than the supermarkets, there are no shops in the area. None. The bus runs regularly but was often jam packed. Taxis, however seem to run the same route as the bus so can be easily flagged down. All in all we would highly recommend the Ariadni for families and couples.
