Boccaccio Hotel

We have just returned from staying at this hotel. On first arriving lady on reception was not overly welcoming and rushed through information about hotel. Then we were asked to pay 20 deposit for 2 towels and 2 euro for plastic cups for pool and beach bar if you lose them you have to pay again. We were given a room overlooking the street even through we booked a sea view or part sea view. When asking if we could change we were told all rooms were pre booked and it was not possible and that was from the receptionist whom did not even check the system- so I looked online at the hotel through tui whom we had booked with and low and behold there was 4 rooms available. When confronted with this information they did not know what to say. I felt very disappointed we were lied too. They did move us and the room was much better. Food okay alot of choice however if you like pork you will be happy as there is alot of pork dishes served. Paella was served every day and it was not nice the rice was undercooked and a few bits of meat very disappointed. The beach and lake that is next to hotel is lovely. It states that no sun beds are allowed to be reserved but every morning you saw people putting towels on beds and walking off. Life guard by the pool ( well meant to be) spends all his time in the pool bar and very rare comes out to check on persons in the pool. I was disappointed with the lack of enthusiasm from staff at reception and I think the lieing about rooms put me off. And also the entertainment board shows acts throughout the week. While we were there the poster shown was of a man and women Spanish dancing on the night it was three women. The next night it was advertised a Male singer again on the night it was two women. Not true to what they are advertising unfortunately. Overall was okay. Food not wow - reception staff not very welcoming or welling to go out of there way to help. Cleaning staff work hard and everything was clean and they were the only friendly people at the hotel. Would I recommend or return no unfortunately not Reception need to work on their people skills and not tell lies.

Hotel was immaculate in all areas Staff very friendly and welcoming room key given on arrival around lunch time so didn't have to wait The pool area was amazing spread over different areas there's the sun terrace upstairs over looking the lake then there's 4 poster beds next to the main pool these are 10 euro per day then there's the chill out area with the bar Food was of good quality didn't have a bad meal considering how many nationalities they are catering for Drinks was a great selection make sure you ask for branded otherwise you don't get automatically only thing that they were to change is the drinks for all Inc guests shouldn't be chargeable at the cocktail bar at the front of the hotel the menu even as the all Inc menu on there yet still charge it's crazy as it sounds

traveled with wife and another couple for an 11-day holiday, the first time in Mallorca. transfer from Palma to the hotel, quite short. on arrival, we couldn't check in until 2 pm so put cases in the luggage room and given our all-inclusive wristbands and headed to the restaurant/bar. first impressions, a really nice hotel, considering it had 200 rooms the pool wasnt that big but it never became a problem at any time, sunbeds again no problem getting 4. had rooms next to our friends, room quite small for a 4-star hotel overlooking the pool and walls were quite thin so conversations could be heard. our first-night air con broke and came back to a wet bedroom fixed very next day. not many children, which was nice but we did go in term time, a very popular hotel with germans, although not a problem. food/drink - quite varied to begin with, themed nights etc, drinks on tap were good, San Miguel, wines, gin/spirits etc all fine, food began to get a little samey/strange combinations towards the end of the 11 days but again always found something to eat, food was sometimes not cooked properly due to amount of people wanting that particular dish, pork kebabs/hot dogs were raw in the middle. hotel staff/bar/catering/cleaning staff all superb especially the cleaning staff. wife became very ill - possibly through food in the restaurant, not sure - one night, staff very quickly to help. beach about 2 minutes walk from the hotel. hotel is on the 'main' strip so a fair few English/Irish pubs if that's your thing but not that close to the hotel so not noisy. as it's next to the lake there are a lot of mosquitos.
