    Giannis Studios sit just outside of the centre of Alykes, surrounded by good-looking olive groves.

    You’ll find Giannis Studios nestled between gardens, about a 15-minute walk from the centre of Alykes. It’s the same distance to the beach, and there’s also a mini-market just down the road.

    The apartments are housed in a pretty pink and white building, and they overlook the plant-filled gardens, or the pool area.

    Having read some of the reviews of Giannis studio since our return from our two weeks there , I do wonder what people expect from a Greek studio apartment in Greece! So here are my thoughts on it. Having travelled around Greece for many years I sort of know what I'm going to get from this type of accommodation, basic, one room plus bathroom studios, Giannis is no exception. The room was clean, enough space for two for two weeks and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space to put your clothes. We had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and bar area which could get a little noisy, but people are on holiday what do you expect. We did have a problem with one of our chairs on the balcony (it collapsed when sat on,) we reported it, it was replaced within the hour. As with alot of Greece the plumbing leaves an awful lot to be desired, our shower was a constant battle between scalding hot/freezing cold/slight trickle/blasting, more than once the shower room floor flooded, bit of a pain but no biggie. And yes, the informous cockerel and barking dogs, during our stay we didn't hear any dogs but we did hear the cockerel most early mornings, it's rural Greece, what do you expect, close the windows, put the air con on, you'll be fine. My biggest complaint is the bed linen and towels, none of them were as clean as they should be, I had small stains on both more than once, now this really isn't a complaint against Giannis, the laundry is sent out to be done, I saw the van most days, however Giannis Studios you are paying for this service and the laundry you are using is not providing the service it should. Special mention must go to Anna and Angelos who run the bar, they are super nice people and work so hard and also to Fotine who came to the rescue when I locked us out of the safe. Giannis is a typical Greek apartment, in a lovely setting, just don't go with unrealistic expectations.

    One of the best hotels i've ever stayed in.From the moment i left the coach to be greeted by Fortuni,Anna and Angelo.Your holiday starts and you feel like a family.They can't do enough for you and i was sad to leave.Hospitality and great food and drink what more do you need.Raymundo and Ann are the resident PR's.😎

    just returned from a lovely stay at giannis,have been travelling to alykes for twenty years and have stayed at most accomodations,the staff at giannis are the most accomodating helpful and friendly people i have met, angelos who runs the pool bar is on hand and they cannot do enough for the guests,the food served there is very good and comparable to the village their no pressure atitude is refreshing.although apartments are by no means top spec th,ey are clean and comfortable and the pool is lovely and clean.all in all a lovely relaxing place and i have just rebooked for 2020,highly recommended.
    Fantastic would recommend to anyone! 😁

    From the moment we stepped off the coach tired and grumpy from the travelling we were made to feel exceptionally no welcome. The room is all you need. We stayed in16. Lovely balcony. Very clean. I would recommend aircon 35 euros but felt very safe leaving anything. The manager was amazing so friendly and Anna and Angelo at the poolside bar work their socks off to make your stay the best. Food is a bargain. 5 euros for a full English with toast coffee and juice. Plenty on the menu to suit everyone and plenty of choice where drinks are concerned. Angelo even moves the umbrellas around while you are eating so you keep in the shade. If you are going here, we'll done on your choice you won't be disappointed. Pool was fab, cleaned every day, loads of sun beds. Yes next to the road but it's not busy. 10 minutes into Alykes which is lovely with a couple of grocery shops on the way. Just keep an eye on your change though 😉 we fell for that a couple of times in them. Yes there are goats, chicken, dogs and cats but nothing to worry about. Take some earplugs if you sleep light as the cockerals sometime come to life at 3am but not always. I really can't fault this place at all and would come back again definitely. Our son is autistic and he was made very welcome and he felt very safe. WiFi is there but hit and miss. Loved it! Thank you so much ❤️

    I write as we are about to leave these lovely studio apartments after a week away with my 12 year old grandson. As usual I checked the reviews before booking and it looked ok. The apartments are basic and roomy. They have all you need including the aircon and safe at an additional cost. Only minor thing was no holder for the shower head but that didnt really bother us lads. The pool area is great and kept spotless and guess what. No sunbeds were reserved and even at mid day there were plenty available. Now the best bit. The pool bar is run by a lovely couple and they work so hard to make sure the guests are all looked after. We had the best food here cooked fresh by Anna and all at reasonable prices. Angelo made sure we had plenty of drinks available and ice cream for my boy. They are lovely and worth coming here for. The hotel is 10 minutes away from the town and even though it borders tge road its not too noisy to relax. The evenings were quiet with background music available. Didnt have any problems chilling out after a busy day by the pool or beach. Yes there are chickens and goats in the fields around the hotel but thats part of the charm and much better than noise from traffic . All in all we had a great time here and definately coming back.
