It was a beautiful resort close to the beach. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The entertainment crew were amazing! They always went out of their way to feel welcomed. Shouts out to Edwin the nightclub d.j. The first night we got there he called us to start making a list of songs we wanted to hear! It was great! Thank you for a great vacation!More

Been back a week from a Lovely resort which is only a short journey from airport, stayed in the preferred section of the hotel and the service was excellent. The resort is kept very clean and tidy, a very beautiful setting. There were always sunbeds available and was good to see the 'towel man' removing towels from beds not in use. Food was generally of a good to high standard even though service at times in the restaurants could be a bit slow. The Buffet restaurant catered for everyones needs but did get quite warm in there. Rooms were cleaned every day and new towels provided if necessary. They were very spacious and beds comfortable. The beach was lovely and as we read before we went did suffer from seaweed but the beach was cleaned every day and it wasnt that bad. Cannot thank Ingrid (manager) enough for all her help in sorting our room issues. Staff in the Seaside Grill were fantastic, Cristina and TIto always had a lovely welcoming smile and greeting in the mornings. Germain and Juan Carlos a massive thank youfor supplying us the our drinks around the pool and beach, such excellent friendly service. The Entertainment team especially Arismendi and Rayber, my kids loved your friendly high fives and asking them to join your activites. Keep up the great work you deserve medals for doing what you do each day. We had a lovely holiday and made/ met some great peopleMore
Hello all, I will do my best to break this down in sections, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions about the resort and weddings. Arrival - AMR did a great job picking up our group at the airport and whisking us immediately to this magnificent resort. Within 20 minutes we arrived at the resort and were immediately directed to the "Preferred Check-in" (which is in another location from the lobby but less than a minute's walk away. Once we were at the check-in we were greeted with cold towels and beverages of choice and seated in a comfortable lounge. We were given a brief presentation and presented with our room keys, description of the amenities and headed to our rooms (our luggage was taken with us by valet). We were upgraded to the Honeymoon Ocean Side Suite (room 4115) due to our upcoming wedding. The room was beautiful with 1 1/2 bathrooms, a lounge area and master suite with Jacuzzi tub and large shower. Very well presented and nicely appointed. Resort - simply put, beautiful. Amazing cleanliness and landscaping and always being groomed and looked after. The layout of the resort is extremely easy to navigate and you can get from the beach to the front lobby in less than a five minute walk if need be. The resort is layed out pretty much with the Preferred side being the right hand side of the resort and the rest of the resort on the left hand side. Down the middle of the resort is wonderful landscaping, shops, restaurants and the buffet. Extremely easy to get around. Restaurants - first of all, outside the buffet Men must wear long pants. I do not understand why people coming to this beautiful resort do not get this. I recommend buying linen pants off Cubavera or Amazon as mine were very comfortable in the hot climate. Secondly, there are no reservations but do understand if you are with a large group wanting to eat at (Japanese/Chinese, Italian, French, Mexican), you will have to wait a bit to be seated. These restaurants are not large and are very intimate. I strongly recommend arrive early or later for dinner if you are with a large group. If you are a twosome or foursome, seating within 20 minutes seemed the norm. The Buffet was always easy to sit at any time with an abundance of selections for any taste. It is an open air buffet and can get a little warm in the day and evening so dress comfortably. The "Seaside Café" serves breakfast, lunch and dinner right on the beach but believe it is for Preferred only and does not require long pants. I ended up eating most lunches and a dinner or two there. It was fantastic. Beach/Pools - the beach was fantastic, you will read about seaweed etc. The resort does a great job of keeping the beach clean and blocks most of the seaweed but not all. It is the ocean people and during a time of year with storms etc. you will have some seaweed. most of the beach is sand in the water but you will find some parts in the water have coral and seagrass (which is the plant life and will cause some seaweed). I would recommend "swim shoes" as there can be some coral and grass if you want to protect your feet. Our group of 30 loved the beach and water. The Preferred Section was amazing for lounging and swimming on the beach. Please note, you are not supposed to "save" chairs by throwing towels down early in the morning only to show up hours later. The Resort staff rightfully so will come pick up the towels if they see people doing this and thank them for that. Same thing with all of the pools. There are plenty of seats for all to enjoy and this is not necessary. The Preferred Family pool next to the Seaside Café was wonderful and always had a cool breeze. In addition, a lounge/bar in air conditioning to get a drink or snacks if you liked to serve yourself. You can also be waited upon at the beach or the pools. The adult preferred pool was warmer and quiet due to the buildings surrounding the pool but was nice to go to for the outdoor bar and inside had a full top shelf bar. This pool you could order meals poolside and enjoy them. The Main pool in the resort section (non-preferred) was nice as it had more shade and a swim up bar. The service takes a long time so our group kind of made our own section and continuously tipped a wonderful server name "Maritza" who kept the drinks flowing roughly every 10-15 minutes for our group. Thank you Maritza, you were amazing. Wedding - We chose to have a beachfront wedding with 30 guests in the section right in front of the Seaside Grill. In addition, we had our cocktail hour and our dinner on the beach in the same spot. Words cannot describe how great a job our wedding Coordinator "Vangie Severino" did for us. I will be happy to share any wedding info I can if you are interested but words cannot describe the day/evening we had. The service was amazing, the "Caribbean Trio" who played our cocktail hour were wondering and then we had an Emcee "Hector" who kept the party rolling for the next three hours combined with the amazing DJ "LaPantera" (I believe was his name). We never stopped dancing and having fun. Vangie, you were amazing to Julie and myself and will always be thankful for the work you did for us. Most importantly - "The People" Never in my life have I met so many beautiful, gracious, happy and humble people who work at this amazing resort. I will list as many as I can and sadly feel I missed many more. Vangie Severino our wedding coordinator, Hector the Emcee, LaPantera the DJ, The gentlemen who served our Buffet on the beach on 8/2/16. Emilio at the Preferred Adult Pool....you were always "Exellente' my friend", Juliana our wedding photographer was amazing, Elceda and Karen the two ladies who cleaned our room day and night, Rene our server at the buffet, Yogina the outdoor bartender at the Preferred Adult pool was exemplary, Maritza at the main pool swim up bar was fun and on top of everything, Ariel and Lilybet our masseuses for our "Couples Massage" were amazing. What a beautiful country with the most amazing people I have ever encountered. Thank you and God bless you all. Butler Service, not impressed and not worth the extra cost. We were not needy and only had two requests, one was handled appropriately at the beginning and the second one was never fulfilled despite repeated requests. This was our only disappointment. I highly recommend Preferred, was well worth the extra cost. Thank you, Patrick M. Milwaukee WIMore
