Beautiful Resort, Excellent Staff & Service!
Dreams Palm Beach Resort provides an excellent vacation experience - the grounds are beautiful, with mature palm trees, flowers, shrubs and manicured green spaces, the beach is beautiful with plentiful thatched roof cabanas and lounge chairs, the pools are kept sparkling, the food and restaurants are great, and the entire staff is helpful and very friendly. The rooms and public spaces are kept immaculate too. Overall, an excellent resort experience.More
Great service....all inclusive....everything was neat, orderly, well organized, friendly staff, beautiful grounds, plenty of space to roam, beautiful pools, great beach, adequate security around but not obvious.....you will not be disappointed with this resortMore
Had the best service on our first day by pool server Ambiorix. Very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Always on hand to make sure we had everything we need and couldn't do more for us. Great hotel, been here two days no complaints! More
My boyfriend and I spent a weekend in Dreams Palm Beach and we loved it! Great service and it is an excellent place to relax. They have a coffee bar that made me gain a couple pounds with their donuts cause everything was to die for, my boyfriend wanted to buy the same coffee machine when we got home. I totally recommend this beautiful hotel.More
Great Property and Staff
The run down (read only the sections you care about) Fight: booked through an online company that handled all of the transports to and from the airport. Flight was direct on Xtra, which is a charter airline for Apple Vacations. The planes are typically 737 planes from other airlines that have upgraded their plane fleet. Older planes but fine for a 4 hour flight from the middle of the country. Hotel first impressions: Show up to the hotel and they split you up preferred vs regular customers (more on this later). Preferred is what i ended up booking due to minimal cost for the week . Upon arrival the crew will put your luggage on a cart and you will go to the front desk or to the preferred entrance to see if your room is ready. Preferred will get a mint cooled towel to wipe your face with after your journey and they whisk you off to the preferred side of the hotel, just past the spa/fitness area. They go through the basics of what the hotel has to offer and your told you have some additional special offers (both sides get discount vouchers, the front desk gave me a full "regular side" pamphlet when i told them I would like another map). We were with a group of 3 couples and one room was ready upon early arrival so we went to the Seaside grill to grab lunch and they would come get us when the room was ready. Room: there are 3 room options, we got a room with king bed with one of the updated large showers. The room was a great location ground level facing the adult pool (pool closes at 6pm, bar inside at 10pm), which is less noisy than facing towards the large main area that house the big pool. Bed is 7 in terms of firmness so a good middle ground. first off its the Caribbean, so the humidity hangs in the room. Rooms are not perfect, but nice verse other All Inclusive resorts I have been to. In the rooms you will see slight rusting from light fixtures, the finish work for trim doesn't always go together, the safe works 70% of the time (had to ask to have it fixed twice. service to fix came quickly in less than 20 mins), but the highlights are: the large shower with two rainfall shower heads (you could literally fit 8 people in the shower), separated toilet, comfortable bed, and nice back patio with table and two chairs. In the bathroom you will get tooth brushes, combs, tooth paste, lotion, shower gel, shampoo, razor, shave cream, shower cap, cotton balls and q tips, and shoe polish. Suggestion would be better heating and cooling systems with cleanable/replaceable air filters, as you could look up into the return air vent and see dust collecting on coils which is why some people who stayed in a group we meet had cooling issues. Preferred: Upon arrival we were promptly gotten a drink and sat down on comfy couches in the preferred adult pool building. This building has two people working the front computers to help sort out any needs you may have, the bar is stocked with mid-level "premium" alcohol (Absolute Vodka, and a few different options than the typical bars), snack bar with finger foods, and a few tables. You will be told this is the VIP of the resort, there are access to two pools (one adult and one family) that will be only for preferred guests, but the only way they regulate this is if they see a brown towel (normal resort side) vs the orange towel of the preferred side, you have your own side of the beach (again only protected by towel color), and you will have a few more options for booze. Juan Carlos on the beach always has a smile and will get a drink in your hand quickly. The best bars at the resort were the Adult pool bar (inside), and the lobby bar. Both areas had great bartenders and the most drink options. Food: Its a mid tier All-Inclusive resort its much better than other All-Inclusive I have been to, but it wont blow you away. We went to all the restaurants. The Japanese restaurant is fun but you will have to wait about an hour to get in, and the Chinese restaurant that is in the same space is equally as good if not better. Favorite places to eat were the Chinese and the World Cafe. The World Cafe is probably the best Buffet style eating you can get, with grab and go options and very good made to order options. Made to order morning omelets were great, and for lunch the made to order burritos were fantastic (Thanks Juan). We had several people say they liked the Seaside grill option, but found all the meat to be slightly over salty. As an added bonus we loved the Coco Cafe, as it was a great way to start the day and coffee was quite good (frozen or hot). Beach: You will have seaweed on the beach, as the entire shoreline has a very subtle grade going into the ocean that will warm the floor and enable some seaweed to grow. This hotel does better than a couple of surrounding resorts at cleaning off the beach in the morning. They have the beach roped off so you cant go very far out into the ocean, mostly because boats are running up and down the coast. Its a nice beach but if you venture around the bend to the left of the hotel string there is less seaweed and very clear water. Great to relax under a straw umbrella, and we always were able to find a spot on the beach, even if it was a few rows from the front. The water is very clear with a few fish varieties, and the area feels very safe. You will have people trying to sell you stuff occasionally, but just say no and ignore them, its not nearly as annoying as sales people in Jamaica or Cancun. Suggestion is they need to get rid of the wood tables on the beach because the wood bees are alarming when around. Staff and entertainment: the preferred staff is great and part of the reason I was happy I upgraded, they really wanted to help (and bring $50-$100 in ones will go a long way in tips). The staff tag lines are "Excelente" and "My Pleasure" so you will hear those tags said often, which is nice and feels genuine. Entertainment was good for the hotel, typically lasted about an hour for the big shows at night, many of the performers will do similar stunts for different acts, but the fire breathing and acrobatics were cool and worthy or at least one of your nights. There are tons of weddings here so be prepared if you go to the night club (which is through the casino) that a wedding party will likely be in there catering to what that party wants to hear (latino music or the same 20 white people wedding songs like YMCA). The staff at the lobby bar is definitely the best staffed bar in the place, they know how to make more drinks and have more options than many of the other bars. Final notes: Relax you are on vacation, the Staff is great and will try very hard to help you out with any need you have. You don't have to take the hotel tour, and that's up to you if you want to be pitched to joining their reward club resort timeshare. People we met went on it, which took twice the amount of time advertised. To avoid this pressure, just go to the desk to schedule your pick up the day before you leave (they know when the pickup is coming).More
