Time for an update to the property! Food was great. It would be nice to get checked in before the UVC staff tries to set up appointments with you. Was at the Dreams in Costa Rica last year. Was much more enjoyable there.More
Amazing Resort! Amazing Staff!
Just returned from a fabulous week at Dreams Palm Beach. Attention to detail is an understatement here. They are so friendly, helpful and never stop trying to make your stay and holiday a great one! Benjamin at the Prefered Club is absolutely amazing. From check in to check out our holiday was one we will never forget. We've been to DR before but never had this level of service and care EVER before. It's not just about the tips to them but preforming the best level of service for each and every guest. The Al la cartes are wonderful. Chinese/Japanese and The Sea Side Grill were our favourites. The Coco Cafe is pretty cool too. Different desserts and coffees.... Very yummy. They are only open till 10:30 pm everyday which we would have liked to have seen them open later. The food in general is very very good. The grounds were immaculate. The pools cleaned ALL the time and all the workers do their jobs and task with a huge smile and always a hola :)) we can't say enough great things about our holiday. 10+ Air Transat was a disaster but this is nothing to do with the hotel and a completely separate matter. But even when we had complications, Benjamin and his staff at the preferred club were there to help straighten things out for us. Congrats Dreams Palm Beach. Your doing an amazing job and we will be sure to be back. Merry Christmas. Tom and Melanie Gormley- London Ontario CanadaMore
An enjoyable return visit!
This was our 2nd visit to this hotel and apart from repairs to some of the roofs due to the recent hurricane, the hotel was still the same so we settled into our holiday quite quickly. The hotel offers a good variety of food, the restaurants are very stylish and all the staff are very polite and courteous. The patisery is very nice with a good selection of cakes and pastries to enjoy with your coffee; I liked the hot chocolate with whipped cream. If you don't want to eat in one of the smaller restaurants there is also the main one which serves all sorts of food; if you have young children then this is probably the best place to head for. If you have upgraded to Club then there are two further areas where light bites and drink is served however we only used this a couple of times during our stay. We did upgrade to Club this time round but I'm not sure it enhanced our stay any more than it did the first time. When we arrived it took a while for us to be checked in and we were left waiting out in the main recrption for 15 minutes before being taken to the reception area for Clyb guests. The room was no better than our last stay, in fact I think our room was in a better position on the first visit. We did get to have breakfast at the sea grill restaurant most days but the service was very slow when it came to waiting for your food and I feel this does need to be improved as a number of guests did complain. Our only other concern was the state of the beach but when we raised this the hotel was quick to respond and the beach was maintained regularly thereafter ensuring that the seaweed and any rubbish was cleared. The one thing we did notice on this visit was the quality of the sea water - all along the beach blue floats are now in place with I think netting. I am guessing this is because there seemed to be a lot more boats going back and forth and have therefore been put up for safety reasons. When we first came to this resort the water was as you would expect, clear blue. This time it was murky and not very inviting. If you wanted to swim in a clear blue sea you had to walk up to the natural park but this was scattered with litter which had been brought in from the storm. It wasn't pleasant and it is a shame the beach has been left; it really wouldn't take much to clear it up and it would be beautiful again. Hopefully someone will read this and take note. Would I return to this hotel again... If we were stuck for somewhere to go then yes I would but the beach and the quality of the sea water wasn't what we had experienced previously and that is what we had gone for so where the hotel itself scores 5/5 the beach area didn't and that is a big factor for us when we book a holiday. Perhaps some thought needs to be given to the number of boats coming in and out of the area and their distance to the beach? More
We really enjoyed our stay at the Dreams Palm Beach. This is an older resort but it was very well kept. We were a Preferred Club member which has added benefits that were very nice. It made check-in much easier and gave us access to adult only areas. The food was amazing especially the Seaside Grille and World Cafe. The staff was incredible including housekeeping. Beautiful beaches and pools. I also recommend Amstar tours and transfers. They were very organized and helpful. My only complaint was the aggressive sale team. We do look forward to coming back and even going to some of their other resorts. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!More
Amazing Service, Great Time
We were looking for a quality place to recharge for 5 days and Dreams Palm Beach delivered! We stayed from Dec 1 - 6th, and from check in to check out we were treated very well! My Wife and I travel often, and We would easily rate the service as one of the most pleasant we’ve experienced. We booked through iTravel and selected the “preferred” package (highly recommend this service), which offers a private speedy check in. We had to wait for our room so we started with some drinks at the lobby bar. Vogina was great entertainment and made some a DELICIOUS mohjito, old fashioned, and margarita. We were pretty drunk before we checked into our room! Great start! Grounds/General: For being an older resort, this place is beautiful. Full of character, very well maintained, and the palm trees offer a very nice tropical vibe both on the beach and throughout the resort.. Not too big, easy to walk around. Huge pools and looked very clean. Lots of loungers and we actually saw staff removing towels without personal belongings, loved seeing that!!! All the restaurants had good service with good food and had comfortable AC (that’s coming from someone that typically complains when having to wear long pants to dinner!). Very nice hotel overall! Beach: Sand was nice and soft, not hot at all. Lots of palm tree roots be careful not to trip. LOTS of locals walking up and down the beach trying to sell stuff. Almost sounded like we were at a baseball game at times with guys selling popcorn and beer lol, Especially the guys that say “are you reading about me” or “are you looking for me” lol. But they’re harmless and just keep walking on by. Lots of loungers and sunshades on the preferred side but still need to get down there early in the day to get a good spot if you want both sun and shade. There is a buoy system that wraps around the beachfront - wasn’t a fan of this optically on the first day, but got used to it and it did keep a LOT of seaweed away and kept the boats far away from shore. Restaurants: We ate Breakfast and lunch everyday at the Seaside Grill for Preferred guests. It was a great spot and had awesome servers! Flora(?) took amazing care of us all week!!!! The morning omelettes and mimosas were fantastic. And if you like pastries in the morning, this place is your kinda spot! We can’t really stomach that stuff in the morning but there was always a spread of 5-6 different choices!! We ate at the Buffet the first night, had great selection and although we’re not really buffet type travelers, it was really enjoyable! Victor made us some of the most delicious Steak Tacos we’ve had (and my Wife loves Tacos). Ate at the French Restaurant the next night, pretty good food and really nice that it’s adults only. Berlin was our server and he was fantastic. Even remembered us later in our trip when we saw him at other restaurants. We did the romantic moonlit dinner on the beach the 3rd night. Raphael was our server and He was amazing. He’s a little older and doesn’t walk too well, but got down on a knee to take some great pictures of my Wife and I with the moon in the background. Had the Italian the 3rd night, really enjoyed the music and food here. Ate at the Mexican our last night, got a bunch of appetizers and they were all great! The cafe makes some great coffee and espresso. And the pastries are INCREDIBLE! SO fresh and tasty! It’s nice that you don’t have to make any reservations to these restaurants, we didn’t have to wait any night for a table. Rooms: Our first room in Building #5 was ground level and not quite what we were expecting. Not terrible, but We were RIGHT in front of the main bar and it was super loud all day, then at night there was a beach party practically outside our room. This would be amazing if you were looking for a party!! We went to the preferred guest services first thing in the morning and Katherine quickly found us a 3rd floor room in building #3 with huge vaulted ceilings and a beautiful oceanview overlooking the Preferred Family pool (rm 3312). it was absolutely perfect!! She called 20 minutes after we got to the room to check and make sure everything was good. Katherine was fantastic and made this process incredibly easy! Staff: Everyone was really amazing. Beyond those mentioned above, here were a few more standouts: Orlando and Louisana were 2 of the first staff members we spoke with and they set the tone for the trip. So helpful, funny and polite (and spoke great English as do most of the staff at this resort). We had lots of questions and they were very helpful explaining the resort, various promotions, and excursions offered. Katherine got us situated in our room and was extremely helpful in moving us to a room that more suited what we were looking for. It was the easiest process in being moved we’ve ever experienced! And she checked in on us a few times to make sure everything was ok. Benjamin was very helpful with answering any questions we had at guest services! Elias was our guide for the membership breakfast and was very helpful answering questions. He wasn’t too pushy describing the membership benefits and was super helpful navigating the busy buffet for breakfast that morning. Overall, we really enjoyed staying at the Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana. We would consider staying here again and have already referred some friends and family to the resort!!More
