With an infinity pool, top-class restaurants and cut-above rooms, this place has the edge when it comes to luxury. It’s in a standout beachfront setting, too.
As you’d expect from the name, this place is pulled up against a long – almost a kilometre – stretch of sugary sand. It’s got a village feel, with 5 restaurants and 3 pools fanning out from an Italian-style piazza.
Rooms are design-mag stylish, and include king-size beds, huge flatscreen TVs and iPod docks as standard. They all come with Indian Ocean views, too.

Great resort for our honeymoon
We had a great stay here for our honeymoon for two weeks. The place looks stunning with the sculptures and greenery as well as water features. Whilst we were there it always seemed that they were updating and tidying the place up, whether it be updating the paint work or gardening. I have to be honest we had a rocky start. Virgin, the travel agent we booked with, did not inform us of the dress code for men to enter the restaurants for dinner, therefore, my husband only had smart 3/4 lengths and would not be accepted into restaurants without a full trouser. There is a rule of no sportswear, no shorts, and no 3/4 lengths, and you must wear shoes which are not sportswear, sandals or flip flops, therefore, we had to go and get him some trousers from Flaq. After checking into our sea view room we received a call stating that we would have to move as there was a leak in the room and we were put in the wrong room, we would therefore be moved the next morning. The manager was apologetic, but with everything that had already happened I felt I wanted to move hotels, I was pretty annoyed that we couldn't unpack and get settled after 24 hours travelling there. The morning of the move we were called saying that the move would actually be in the evening. That evening we moved rooms and could finally unpack and quickly get ready for our honeymoon meal. We then realised that the curtains which separate the bathroom from the main room were absent, and we needed to call housekeeping to get them put up. I have to say the curtains (which sagged at the top) did not make the room look 5 star, doors would have been more private and luxury. That said, housekeeping go in twice a day, therefore, the room is always spotless. Despite this rocky start we had an amazing time. We were moved from an upstairs room with sea view to a beach front ground floor room with our own loungers! We received a t-shirt, sarong, macaroons, and a bottle of bubbly for our honeymoon along with the coconut water you get, on arrival you get cold refreshing flannels and a mocktail each. We were given a bouquet of flowers and came back to a floral bubble bath and often little towel animals with flowers. Our honeymoon meal with personalised menu was adorable and very tasty! If you are staying here I would advise all inclusive, the food and drinks are so expensive if you don't. Loads are included in the all inclusive, including alcoholic drinks and cocktails as well as coffees. The restaurants are brilliant, although we didn't enjoy Sapori that much. Tides as a pool bar at lunch was amazing, so many options and the poolside ordering and delivery was fantastic. Servers come round sun-loungers and take orders for food and drinks. Tides as an evening restaurant was fantastic, the meals are delicious, the staff are so friendly, however, a lot of the options are not on the All Inclusive which is a shame. Chopsticks was amazing, Hasu was out of this world, and we never went to le marche for tea, but the breakfast buffets were brilliant. There are plenty of taxis based at the resort, we were taken to Flaq and to Port Louis and the drivers are very helpful. The pools are great, there is an adults only infinity pool, very cold but lovely! The life guard was good at maintaining the adult only, why people would want their child in a pool where theres a drop and no shallow end is beyond me. There were bed loungers and bean bag loungers which were awesome, but no parasols which is a drawback for this area. There is also a bigger pool by the bar which has loungers with parasols and bed loungers. There are also loungers in the pool. It is a really beautiful scene! A lot of the jacuzzi seats in both the adult pool and normal pool don't work and need fixing. There are a couple of shops which are really nice however very expensive. The staff are so lovely and friendly and go out of their way to make sure you are enjoying your stay. Overall, we had a great stay and would go back. A few hiccups and a few issues which means it loses a star on the rating, however nothing that serious and certainly didn't stop us having a great time.More
Lovely staff in a beautiful setting
Overall, the Long Beach Resort on the East Coast of Mauritius was a great choice for our half term family holiday. The long flights from the UK (via Dubai) were worth it to arrive on this beautiful island. As requested by email prior to our arrival, we were delighted that our two rooms had not only been allocated next door to each other, but also, our rooms were close to the central hub of this lovely, contemporary resort. Many thanks to Duty Manager Vykash for organising these! Design of all areas was impressive, particularly the central piazza which lead to all feature restaurants. Plenty of restaurant choices were available and our favourite was Hasu Japanese - delicious flavours and every dish beautifully presented. There were plenty of staff at this resort and investment in staff training was highly evident in their approach to friendly and helpful customer service on all levels. Special mentions to Sheila and Natalie in The Tides Restaurant by the pool/beach who took care of us every day with their warm and gracious service and also Hershina in Guest Services, who was so helpful and friendly. It was really good to see both duty managers and the general manager Jean-Marc visible every day, checking on service to help maintain high standards - thank you for the avocados Jean-Marc!! The weather was a bit mixed and it was very windy most days which unfortunately meant the boys couldn't sign up for water skiing and other water sports they were hoping to experience. We enjoyed most of the live entertainment every evening which created great atmosphere where guests appeared to be enjoying themselves, particularly the younger guests who were running about having great fun! Here is my constructive feedback *seating, particularly seat cushions, in the Tides Restaurant and Le Marché Buffet Restaurant were badly stained and in need of replacement *the adult swimming pool wasn't heated and was absolutely freezing which meant it was virtually unused, such a shame as it has an infinity edge looking out onto the lagoon which we couldn't enjoy. Also, there were beanbags and just a very few double sun beds. It would be nice to see some regular sun lounges there too. *Whilst our bedrooms were very nice, there was a lack of plug sockets and strangely, there were no bathroom doors in our room?! *The treatment prices in The Spa are very expensive and as an ex therapist, I felt it was most unfair to only offer 20 minutes for a massage or reflexology treatment. In my view, it is impossible to offer a quality treatment in only 20 minutes - the client is only beginning to relax before it's over! It is possible to book a longer massage but of course it is double the price. This should be addressed with the Cinq Mondes representative and Jean-Marc. We chose Beach Front rooms on the ground floor and loved lots of wardrobe space and the rooms were always cleaned to a very high standard. All inclusive worked really well with plenty choice at meal times. Oh, and we all LOVED the fresh crêpe stall with soft and delicious crêpes made every afternoon by the pool - soft and velvety - delicious!More
My .... that's a Long Beach !
Just back from 2 fantastic weeks at lovely Long Beach. A great hotel with a great location. The Beach is beautiful with wonderful turquoise sea and really great snorkelling. The food is wonderful, although in some of the restaurants they could do with a few more all inclusive options (Tides at night in particular). While we were there, we were lucky enough to have Michelin Star chef Lionel Levy to do a special menu which was superb (extra charge, but very reasonable!). If you like the wine the Cono Sur Pinot Noir on the all inclusive is very good and they will leave the bottle at the table if you ask them to! The staff are brilliant, nothing too much trouble and always friendly and helpful, special shout out to Sheila at breakfast service and Jovanni at pool bar, I would do more but didn't catch their names (maybe name badges might help?). The rooms are very clean and comfortable, we were lucky enough to have beach front rooms, which I would highly recommend. Activities are very good, the all inclusive golf at Isle aux Cerfs and Annihita are really worth it, although Cerfs is a very unforgiving course, how many balls did I lose !!! It is definitely worth doing both a island taxi tour, about £100 per car, asked for Lachoo, 78 years young and gives the best tours! Also, a boat trip to Blue Bay either speed boat or catamaran is highly recommend and the beach sellers are very reliable and cheaper than the tour companies. Overall a really great holiday !!More
I'm in hotel now
We are staying here from 7 of November, on AI. The hotel is nice and the staff is wonderful. I recommend Hasu restaurant (Japanese), really good. So, the stay is nice, but: I see first time in my life 5* hotel where for a breakfast a fresh orange juice is not included and as a tee you receive rather strange drink (served from jug; without choice of different tees). I don’t recommend a suite no 238: the smell of mustiness is rather not pleasant. Maybe it’s a consequence of something strange on the ceiling in bathroom (a mold ?). See photo.More
We (family with 2 teenagers) had a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable week at Long Beach. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean (although the open plan nature of the bathroom did take a little getting use to). Being on the all inclusive package was very luxurious, not having to worry about any drinks or food, with a very good selection available. The food in each of the restaurants was delicious. The staff throughout the resort are so very friendly in particular Vada looking after us at breakfast and dinner at le Marche. And even with the resort being full one never felt crowded or struggled for anything. The water sports were a very enjoyable free addition as was the snorkeling in clear water with the fish swimming so close, whilst yoga at sunrise with Raj was unreal. Our only niggle was the slow check-in upon arrival after a long journey with the ipads not working but that was soon forgotten at this paradise retreat. A real sadness to leave but great memories and a wish to return. What more can one want from a holiday.More
