Tranquil hotel in a quite corner of Tenerife. Bit of a trek to get there but definitely worth it. Attentive friendly staff Nice gardens, pool and spaces with great views down to the ocean.Fabulous golf course overlooking the Atlantic.

We stayed for a week in a standard room half board. The hotel is built on a slope and has several levels. There was a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere as this is an adults only hotel. The standard room was spacious with extra large beds and as we were on the lowest floor we had a terrace outside but no view of the sea. Upper rooms had balconies and would have had sea views. I preferred having a terrace especially as the balconies appeared not to be in the sun as we were north facing. There are however lots of spaces to sit outside in the sun. Being in the standard room did mean that all drinks had to be paid for, a key reason why many seem to enjoy the 'level experience'. The gym appeared to be the only place where you could obtain nice drinking water for free. We found that tap water had a very strong taste even when bolied in the kettle. So as regards the quality of the actual room - standard rooms were high quality. With regards to the food I do differ from other comments. The range of the buffet was pretty incredible. It did change during the week but not markedly which is why some people commented on the same food. it is difficult for some things to survive well on the buffet and my thoughts were that most food managed this very well. I did appreciate having a chef available to cook your choice of fish or steak for you on the spot. We did have a meal in the restaurant and the food there was good. However in our group there were mixed feelings about the food there as some people did not like their choice. I thought the chicken was excellent.The advantages of a buffet is that if you make a 'bad' choice then there is always something else on the plate which you will like.If I was to go again I would just stick with the buffet - but then I am quite indecisive! Location was a mixed blessing. The hotel is a good hour and a half from the airport. Transfer costs may be high and the roads for the last half hour were constantly going from side to side. If you are not a good traveller might be a good idea to take something. The advantage is that this area is beautiful and has not been scarred by multiple high rises. The hotel has pleasant walks and the village is nearby with a wonderful patisserie and helpful pharmacy. The hotel could improve the map they gave out as I found it not very clear as it was all shades of grey difficult to work out in bright sunlight. People generally appear to be helpful and friendly. There is also a local bus that can take you to the lighthouse. Very worthwhile. A lot of people rented cars so they could go around the local area. Most people appear to play golf and there are small groups that are around the pool.The lower one was heated sufficiently to make a pleasant swim. There is an attentive and polite lifeguard on duty so you can swim by yourself with confidence. Finally the weather in Tenerife does vary from one area to another. This area seems to enjoy the higher temperatures of the south but without the strong winds - pretty idyllic.

We had a lovely stay 6 days in the level junior suite sea view. Enjoyed the sun in the big pool area and the quiet corners all around in the hotel garden. The nearby sea and mountains were perfect for long walks and the food buffet great - morning and evenings too.
