Fab family holiday
Just had a fantastic family holiday at this hotel. After a four hour flight from Newcastle, it only took about 15 minutes from the airport to the hotel. On arrival at the hotel, we were greeted with a cold glass of prosecco and very pleasant staff. Our room was clean and comfortable right next to the pool, food bar and close enough to the stage to sit outside our room and watch the various acts every night. There was water volleyball every day as well as many other activities ran by the animation team, who were fantastic and very friendly and extremely hard working! Dani seemed to lead the team, he had a brilliant sense of humour and was so funny .He made you feel like you'd known him for years as he endeavoured to learn everyone's name to add the personal touch. The food was varied and plentiful in the restaurant but lacked variety in the pool/snack bar. Although the weather was very hot, there was a constant breeze which made it comfortable. All in all, a great, family friendly hotel.More
Friends trip awat
Stayed at this hotel for a week at the end of August and overall it was great with a few issues which were sorted rather easily! We arrived at 9pm with basically a coach full of other people, the reception staff quickly welcomed us and told us to leave our cases and they guided us to the restaurant so we could all get dinner before the restaurant closed. After having dinner we went back to reception to finish checking in and at this point we were given a welcome drink. We went to our room which was 1312N and it had a pool view! The room was lovely and clean and had enough space for us! The hotel and rooms look like they have recently been refurbished. The food was good although it did start to get a bit repetitive but we did go out for dinner a few times and also had lunch out as well! We only had breakfast a couple of days at the hotel and it was good with a nice selection! For lunch we tended to go to the pool bar which had burgers, hot dogs etc and 1 day they had a BBQ as well. We paid for pool towels which was â¬30 euros in total but we did get this back when we were checking out of the hotel! The one issue we had was people reserving sun loungers, on our first day we got up at 9am and all the loungers had towels on them so after that we had to join in with everyone else and get up at the crack of dawn to go and put our towels down I guess this is quite common at most resorts these days. We also had a leak in our room 2 days in a row which was either from the AC or the shower the hotel were quick to sort this so it wasn't an issue! Overall a nice hotel with just a few issues to sort out! More
Lovely hotel, great location
Just returned from this hotel today after spending a week there with my partner (both 25). Check-in We had a late flight out but the hotel was only a 15min coach transfer away from the airport- probably not worth paying extra for a private taxi. We were greeted with a glass of fizz (or orange juice) and had our room keys within 5 mins. We were also advised that even though we had missed dinner that there would be food available to us in the restaurant if we were hungry. Rooms We booked the last available room in the hotel which was a family room with sea view. The room was lovely, comfortable beds, lots of wardrobe space and the view of the sea was amazing. There was a safe which I think was around â¬2 a day, a lovely walk-in shower (no bath) and girls don't bother taking your hair dryer, there's a really decent one in the bathroom. Rooms cleaned every to a high standard and towels & bedding changed too. There is a small TV but not many english channels (but who goes on holiday to watch tv!). Pool Area Lovely big pool, pretty cold but fine once you're in! I read reviews prior to going that said sun beds were taken very early, this was correct, but it's the same everywhere. I got up around 7.30am to reserve sun beds before breakfast but never really saw anyone struggle. If you want the sun all day, I recommend going for the sun beds outside the entrance to the pool bar, some of the sun beds are stuck in the shade until lunch time. Also, we noticed quite a lot of people had giant clothes pegs keeping their towels attached to the beds, great idea since Costa Teguise is known for being windy and we saw a couple of towels go flying- you can buy them from local shops - â¬2 for 4. Food Breakfast was fab, loads of choice (buffet style)- variety of breads, toast, all english, cheeses, cold meats, fruit, cereal. Not sure how anyone could complain really! After breakfast the Pool Bar then puts some food on (also buffet style) which has things like chips, burgers, hotdogs, pasta, fruit, yoghurt and you can also order freshly made food from the pool bar menu (I recommend the Club Sandwich). Lunch is another buffet served in the main restaurant and changed slightly day to day. Dinner was another buffet which was a bit similar to lunch but more choice. Although the food changed daily it did feel as if we were eating the same sort of thing and the restaurant isn't set out in the best way- the tables are very close together so it can feel like you're sitting with the people either side of you! A great way to break up the meals is to sign up for 1 or more of the themed restaurant meals; There are 3 choices- Mexican, Spanish & Italian. These themed nights are in the pool bar and you get a 3 course meal and just choose your main (usually from meat or fish) but they book up quickly so I recommend booking during your first visit to the main restaurant. We actually ate out 3 times and all 3 restaurants were great and reasonably priced- La Hacienda was excellent! Drinks All inclusive didn't include branded alcohol (you have to pay extra for that) but the local stuff is fine, and they make them really strong! Drinks available all day long from the Pool Bar, you just go and help yourself unless you want a mixed drink but the only problem I had is that the cups are like children's cups, absolutely tiny! I just don't see the point in this, they really need to get bigger ones. On a hot day when you're thirsty it gets really annoying having to get up for 2 gulps of water every 5 mins! The cocktail slushes are too nice (but not very alcoholic) and the Brandy Well pub to the front of the hotel is great (also all inclusive). They do 2 premium cocktails for â¬5. Entertainment There were a few activities on every day, such as shooting comps, mini golf, table tennis, aerobics etc but they don't try and force you into it which makes a change from other hotels! No activities through the day on a Sunday though, day of rest! There's an act on every night but not until 9.30pm which is a bit late, we stayed and watched a couple which were good fun, but every night there were a load of people watching, go early if you want a good seat! Location Couldn't be better. Right next to the beach, about 1min walk from the main restaurants. Can't go wrong!! Beach Man made beach so lovely silky sand, â¬12 for 2 sun beds, sea is lovely- no rocks and very clear. We went on a windy day and the waves were great fun (some at about 15ft high) but would just be careful if you have kids or aren't a strong swimmer, there were full grown men getting knocked over! Checking out Check out is 12noon and if you have a late flight back like we did, you can ask for a late check out- 3pm is â¬21 and 7pm is â¬36 (subject to availability) but they also offer a courtesy room which you can book the day before you leave- it's free of charge and you can have it for half an hour (you choose your time slot). Overall, a great holiday... Staff are all very friendly and can't help enough! More
A Week in the Sun
Arrived late, midnight .Reception and check In excellent, was told there was some food left in the restaurant for us.Found our rooms dropped cases, went and found restaurant the food wasn't up to much so we didn't bother. The room was very clean, paid for a room with seaview, the wind blows off the sea and straight into the room was very windy and cold at times. The food is average, the usual kind of stuff and a decent mixture, but must say we left quite a lot of food because it was cold very disappointing.Had to get up early to get some decent sun beds,More
Great hotel if they kept to the booking
The hotel itself is lovely inside, clean and well maintained. The staff are welcoming and do their best to accommodate you. My only issue which sadly put a damper on the holiday was that our booking was not kept to and instead of our calm sea view from the balcony, we were placed in a room right next to the entertainment stage which blurted out quite loud music between 9.30 & 10.30. Sadly not what we were hoping for in a relaxing break away. The hotel did give us free wifi and safety deposit box for the length of our stay but as I had already prepurchased a data package plan it didn't make much of a difference to me. More
