When we arrived we were greeted at the main door with champagne and a very easy check in! We arrived at around 9:30 pm and were then told a cold dinner had been prepared for us when we were ready, this wasn't expected and we were very grateful. The animation team were okay, but they made friends with certain groups of people and if you weren't part of this group, you were ignored. Our last night one of them eventually interacted with us after both girls and the blonde guy, obviously ignored us. We didn't mind but when the lifeguard asks you to join a game, you know there's an issue! The lifeguard (tanned guy with black hair and beard) was amazing! He interacted with everyone, especially the young ones! His relationship with fellow workmates also makes the day funnier. He seemed to do a lot more than lifeguard the pool, he constantly tidied up after guests, cleaned tables and took rubbish bags through to the kitchen! A total credit to this hotel! The other lifeguard though appeared to be either rude or extremely shy. The waiters and waitresses, particularly Oscar, Mojo, Angel and Miguel were by far the best! Always had service with a smile and were undoubtedly the friendliest of faces, constantly busy but still have time to stop and talk to you. They also remembered guests and their nationality and tried to maintain a conversation using the guests language. Entertainment and animation team activities were very very good, even though they picked who they wanted to participate, a bit like a school playground, what they did was very good. Not too much pressure to join in for those that were asked. Music was also played around the pool daily. Really enjoyed the drinks, self service avoids ques, some drinks you do need to pay extra for but this isn't a big deal and you can have the best time without paying outside of all inclusive. Food is the reason this hotel is 3*, me and my partner are usually easy to please when it comes to food but I struggled to find things to eat except chips. I'm not a fussy eater either, fruit and salad selection is good but I think the hotel struggle with catering food to different nationalities. Our last night was Mexican and I would have paid for that, it was lovely food! Shame it was our last night, themed nights are meant to be Tuesday and Thursday but I would ask daily in the main restaurant as on Fridays and mondays they seemed to run a themed night which we weren't aware of. Food is really the only let down. Don't understand why people say there isn't anywhere to sit if you don't want to watch entertainment, entertainment is either in jameos bar or outside seating area, those who don't want to watch entertainment can sit in the unused area. I really liked the pool bar, they served a basic breakfast until 11AM then served hot food then cold food so you can basically eat all day! This takes pressure off to get up early, it was good food too in fact I preferred eating in pool bar to restaurant. The food made in restaurant was good quality, the choice just wasn't varied enough. Sun loungers and parasols - not meant to reserve but people do, can always find a sun lounger but if you want a parasol you need to be up at 8AM to reserve one. But there are a lot of shaded areas so can move sunbed if need be. Rep - honestly amazing! You must go to Steph's welcome meeting. She has such a strong knowledge of Lanzarote and has some good tips about the hotel. She makes you want to buy excursions from her too rather than have them forced upon you, we did dinner El Diablo for â¬56 which was an amazing experience and I thoroughly recommend it! We also did ranch house Texas park for â¬22 each, that was a great day out if you have kids or love animals/shows. Our room was kept very clean and the maid tidied it daily, very helpful too around the hotel. We had an amazing holiday, we were well looked after and the only down side is the food. There are plenty of places to eat out and out of 10 days we had 4 meals out. Free bottles of water are available from the 24 hour reception, a tip also - don't pay for wifi! We connected to it for free, it's limited access but you can get Twitter, Facebook and iMessages. You can search on google but the majority of time it doesn't work, so don't pay unless you need anything other than those! They also have a mini library if you want to read a book but the majority are written in Spanish. If we came back to Costa teguise we would undoubtedly return to this hotel, thank you for an amazing holiday! More

I reviewed this hotel last year after our first stay and at the time it was known as the Luabay Lanzarote Beach. We decided to visit again for our silver wedding anniversary. Arrived about 9 pm, the girl on reception could hardly be heard for the entertainment coming from upstairs, explained we'd been before so she didn't need to tell us anything. Was given a glass of champagne and our key for our room in block 6 this time overlooking the outside entertainment area. We then went for some food from the cold buffet. Last time we had the sea view room which I preferred as I love sitting watching the sea. This time around it was good to see the pool bar open some night times and more shows being shown outside. Block 6 is good for these nights as you can just sit on your balcony to watch. We only watched a few shows as we found a fantastic cocktail bar, Esquire on the way to the Pueblo Marinero, pay it a visit, cocktails are â¬5.50. I was a bit disappointed this year with the food as there was a lot of fish. They even had a sushi night. The food around the pool is burgers, chips, hot dogs etc. but you can go down to the restaurant. We found this year the hotel had a lot more children than last year, even though it was the same time. There is an animation team with a kids club and activities for adults if you fancy it. The staff are lovely always smiling, very helpful. The pool is freezing but they seem to be in all the Canary Islands. The rooms are cleaned every day to a very high standard. We only needed maintenance once as some of the numbers on our safe stopped working and he arrived within a couple of minutes and sorted it. You can hire towels for the sun beds â¬15 which you get back when you leave. This hotel is in a great position, near everything, good to see the gate fixed leading down to the beach. One thing to watch for when you go for your meal at lunchtime the lifeguard comes around and takes your umbrella or your table, to give to the Spanish. This happened to us a few times but we didn't know who was doing it until we watched and spotted him, he even did it to some peoples beds. This is a lovely hotel but there are a few things they could improve. 1) new sun beds 2) fridges in rooms 3) English TV channels 4) menu board ( as you might not like what's on and fancy a night out) 5) bigger bath towels 6) buy the run down pub and buildings next door and move your night time entertainment into there. Turn upstairs into a quiet sitting area/ bar We also went to Arrecife, Teguise market (Sunday), Puerto del Carmen, Music Hall tavern, and the Thomson Natural Wonders trip which was brilliant. In Arrecife we visited the cine6d sky ride which is at Marina Lanzarote and it was brilliant to feel as though you were flying over the volcanoes and the island. This cost â¬10 each. We also did another ride over the Great Wall of China in a rickshaw which was so funny. We travelled to most of these places by local bus which is cheap and reliable. Would I return, yes I sure will as Lanzarote is a beautiful island with friendly lovely people and the Be live Lanzarote Experience ( as it's known now) is a great hotel to stay in. Keep up the good work. More

Good Hotel with superb staff
Delayed flight meant very late arrival but everyone gets a nice glass of fizzy on booking in from helpful friendly staff and they'd left a cold buffet selection in the restaurant despite the late hour. Rooms were large, modern and immaculate. Great sea view from our rooms (pre-booked) and inter-connecting to next door for our teenagers. Rooms cleaned and towels changed daily by polite and thorough team. Hardworking, polite, relaxed and friendly bar staff as were all the attentive restaurant crew. Breakfast and Lunch of a really good quality but can't comment on evening meals as we went into town each night but purely because that's what we like to do of an evening. Decent pool and some (windy but it is the Canaries!) patio areas with plenty of sunbeds. Reception staff in this hotel were some of the best we've ever met. The Thompson/First Choce rep at the hotel Steph was equally as good. Great relaxing hotel and holiday.More

The Staff are excellent, they work so hard and are a credit to the hotel. this includes, reception staff, cleaners, entertainment staff and waiters. My only negative point was being put in a room with a view of a wall. however this was resolved. Many thanks to all at Be Live beach hotel.More
