Hotel Marina Grand Beach

Rooms – We had a sea view room on the third floor which was very well equipped and spacious and could even fit in a little settee and coffee table as well as the usual furniture. There were ample plugs and mirrors which is a rare treat in a holiday hotel. Beds were comfortable and the rooms were serviced to a very high standard. Food – The food was exceptionally good, plenty of variety and served at the right temperature. It was quite amusing to see people piling their plate high every night with chicken, beef, pork and fish on the same plate, and then presumably saying the food was always the same! I have a food allergy but ate very well all week without being ill as there was so much choice. My only complaint was that the table clothes were not changed if they were dirty, they would either be turned over, or paper napkins put over the stains. Guests – At the weekend the hotel had a very different feel about it, when it seemed to be taken over by groups of Russian or German stag parties. Do be fair apart from being loud they didn’t really bother us. On the weekdays there seemed to be more of a mixture of families and groups. I agree with other reviewers that the staff didn’t do a lot to make you feel welcome, apart from the cleaners I don’t think I saw one staff member smile or say hello during the entire week. Entertainment – The animation team work constantly all day and evening. They are very young and do their best but it is very mediocre. There were probably only about 20-30 watching the evening entertainment the nights we stayed in. Swimming pool – nice size pool but a lot of sun loungers in very close proximity to each other, so if you like your space you would be better off at the beach. Needless to say it was very difficult to get a free sunbed after about 9.00. Beach – We went to the beach most days. For about £15 you get two sunbeds, a fixed shade and two mattresses. They also mark out the paid areas so that people aren’t allowed to just come and put a towel down in your space which was very good. The sea was nice with only a little step into the sea, the waves however can be very strong and can knock you over when are trying to get out. It was good fun to jump over them though. Area – The hotel is up a slope from the main sea road. This end of Golden Sands has the clubs and bars, whereas the other end is the marina which is quieter. This definitely felt like a resort for the 18 -30’s and had I not been with my daughter who is in that age bracket think I may have asked to move. If you go to the main road and turn right, after about 5-10 minutes after the police area, you come to a bus stop where you can catch the bus into Varna. It costs about £1.50 each way and takes about 40 minutes. The bus is the number 409.

Returned last night week here,requested room with walkiin shower,got it,sort of, shower base with curtain,leaked like mad when showered.but I left towels on floor. The noise from next hotel and beach bars really loud,but didnt bother us.the room service was very good,she kept our room nice. Swavia and Dani on the pool bar were the best members of staff, from day 1 they made us very welcome. Such nice people. Also Bonev, lifegauard/barman,very friendly and security guard. Kathryn in the restaurant was the only member of staff there that smiles and chatted with people. Most other restaurant waiters waitresses need to be polite and smile a bit.so serious.need more sun shades on balconies, more tables chairs at poolside, not every one wants a sunbed.the food was excellent, enjoyed our stay

Stayed here for a week from 27th June , not done all inclusive before, thought for what we paid the facilities were very good, staff there are very friendly and efficient. Location superb literally over the road from the hotel. Food was a bit bland for my liking but with the amount to choose from will cater for the fussiest of eaters, we were apprehensive with our fussy daughter but she even managed to find something to eat every time. The ultimate question ala four in a bed...... would we stay here again...... we would definitely circle a YES
