    Hotel Spinne is an attractive, well-renovated hotel in the centre of the village.

    With wonderful views of the Wetterhorn and Eiger, a modern wellness area and excellent food, the Spinne is a fantastic base for your holiday. It’s located right in the centre of Grindelwald, just a short stroll to the Grindelwald First gondola, train station, and bus stop.

    Just so you know, upon arriving in Grindelwald, the hotel is approximately 400m from the station. The hotel offers a shuttle service from the station during reception opening hours.

    Also, bathing costumes are not permitted in the wellness area.

    Please note that safety standards around balconies, railings and public walkways are different in Switzerland and may be lower or have ornamental features that you wouldn’t see in the UK or Ireland.
    For your own safety and that of everyone you’re travelling with, please make sure you take care not to lean on or over any railings. If you have children under 12 years, please make sure they’re supervised and not left alone at any time.

    Worth a visit for the spa!

    We stayed for 2 nights in hotel Spinne in an Eiger mountain view room. I would recommend booking a room with a view as it is simply spectacular! At night time we could actually see the Milky Way with our naked eye! The spa is truly what makes this hotel with the infinity mountain view pool! The spa is beautiful and relaxing and you get a robe & slippers in your hotel room. Breakfast was lovely but not many options. The restaurant for dinner on the terrace was great! The pizza is delicious and with great views of the Eiger what more could you need?! The downside to this hotel is the parking...we were told we couldn’t park out front but we could let them valet the car for €10. We needed to be out early so we decided to go to a public car park but later that evening there was loads of cars parked out front. Every other hotel in Grindelwald pretty much had on-site parking so this was a let down.

    We stayed in the ‘suite with Eiger view’, which has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and enough space for two adults and two children. The terrace is huge and the view is stunning. The suite itself is a bit outdated. The bathroom doors cannot be locked and we did not find the beds very comfortable as they were a bit short and had an uncomfortable iron back. There were plenty of toiletries, but we unfortunately had to ask for refills as they seem to not be replaced automatically. As the suite is on the top floor, it can get very hot and we would have liked to have a fan. The breakfast really was disappointing. Very little choice and the hot dishes were not very fresh when coming at the end of the breakfast time. The most annoying were the flies everywhere, even within the covered cheese storage box. The waitresses couldn’t be bothered about them even when we pointed out the multiple flies on the cheeses. The hotel should do something against the flies, certainly in the restaurant for hygiene reasons, but also in the rooms. We did not use the sauna, as this is a ‘no-clothes’ area, which we were uncomfortable with, especially with children. The outside swimming pool is lovely; with a great view. We would have liked the pool to stay open after 7 pm, because is a lovely area to be in the evening. In fact, we found the outside pool the best asset of the hotel, that overall can do with a renovation.
    Perfect Hotel for Skiing Trip

    We had a room in the extension, so did not expect a view. Our room looked directly towards the Wetterhorn. It was spacious with a large bath, comfy beds and well appointed. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. We stayed on a half board basis and both breakfast and dinner were very good. There was choice, and all was good.

    Hotel Spinne provided excellent accommodation with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was not full and our room was upgraded. Meals were of a good standard. The first two dinner courses (starter and soup) were especially good. A lot of options were available at breakfast, with a popular egg cooking station. A free curling session one evening was also good fun and very popular. I would recommend this hotel.
    Perfect Hotel for family ski trip.

    This is a very friendly family run hotel, ideally situated in the Main Street halfway between the railway station and First cable car. (5 minute walk to each). All the staff in reception, the wonderful restaurants, the housekeeping are top knotch and eager to fulfil perfectly even the most demanding guest requests. Our room was the Jungfrau suite. Enormous sitting room, beautiful master bedroom and huge bathroom with separate shower and centrally located bath that two can fit in.....AND another bedroom with toilet and shower! The half-board dinner is beautifully presented and served and every evening was delicious. Wine is well chosen and reasonably priced. Excellent wide choices for breakfast all delicious. We liked the location, easy to get to Kleine Scheidegg and First ski areas. The staff could not be more helpful, efficient and friendly.... We will be back!!!
