    The Bernerhof is a treat for the senses, with a luxurious spa and award-winning restaurants.

    It has heaps of alpine charm, with wooden balconies and flower boxes full of colourful blooms. Step outside and it’s less than a minute’s walk to the bars and boutiques of Gstaad’s pedestrianised centre. And if you fancy venturing further afield, you can hop on a free hotel bike or join a guided hike.

    The décor is inspired by the natural surroundings, so there’s plenty of textured wood and stone. Everything is finished to a high standard, with little touches of detail like the bear-inspired table decorations. And the theme continues in the bedrooms, which all have their own balcony so you’ve got a private space to enjoy the views.

    Good Food, Horrible Service and Even Worse Cleaning

    Very controversial stay. The Goods • Food at the restaurant was good and breakfast was even better • Location is unique The Rest – Bad • Quite tired hotel • Service/Staff is not in line with the town and the standing. • For two days in a row the turndown was not carried out • No cleaning one day and, once we complained, a fast “cleaning” was carried out but it seemed nothing happened (see pictures) • One night we were accused we lost the keys while the keys were lost by the hotel staff and were found at the reception • At the check out, no excused given
    Great hotel but Summer Tourists be aware of the lack of Air Conditioning!

    Note: Visited during the european heatwave of July 2019* The hotel is really close to the train station which is extremely handy. Gstaad is an awesome place and the hotel is situated close to everything so location is perfect. The service was good and the staff were nice and helpful, everyone speaks fluent English, French, Italian and German. The restaurants were nice as well but I got general sense that the place is a bit dated and even though some of the rooms were recently remodelled (I got an old room which was nice and authentic but I'd rather have a renovated room), the whole aura of the hotel and the restaurants is slightly old. The Hotel does not offer room service after a certain hour which might also be a negative for some guests. If your visiting Gstaad in the summer I would carefully choose my hotel as most places, Bernerhof included does not offer any air conditioning what so ever, the closest air conditioned place I could find was the shop at the train station. The nights are alright as it gets colder in the evenings, but if you match a heatwave you will be in trouble. Overall the stay was nice and I'd definitely give it a second try, but in the winter this time!
    Perfect location, superb decoration but something missing

    One cannot find a more central hotel. On top, rooms are big, nicely decorated and offering a perfect quality of sleep. Breakfast is poor for its class and service is poor too. Even for typical stuff one had to ask. Bringing of butter or coffee was everyday different. One day I had to ask, the other, butter was automatically brought. Coffee one day was at a pot, the other at a cup... Another thing is that the hotel has 3 restaurants and no lobby. It is rather awkward to sit at one restaurant in the evening just for a cup of tea and to check your email... Other than that, a perfect experience. I will return if ever back in Gstaad.
    Perfect place to unwind and slow down

    My husband stayed here for almost 3 weeks. I joined him for about a 1.5 week and we had a wonderful stay. It's centrally located near everything: train station, promenade, bus station, eateries, etc. It was quiet yet catered to families with children. There was sauna, pool and massage. We happily used all the facilities. There was kids play center at the bottom, near the pool and spa, along with a cigar or smokers den (if you're into that sort of thing). The rooms include breakfast which is open until 11am, and its pretty well stocked with various delights. I'm mostly vegan and they got me soya yogurt, soya milk for my coffee, lots of fruits, avocados and cucumbers. They were very helpful and accommodating to all our needs.The wait staff were very sweet and the desk staff, very helpful. They gave us maps to all our destinations and helped us find whatever we needed. I highly suggest staying here if you need to unwind and slow things down. Lovely views and a great escape.

    What an amazing hotel and amazing place. The staff was great with my kids (ages 7&4). They helped me get e-bikes and trailers to bike up the gorgeous lake Launensee. We stayed in the corner suite which has a great living room and two bedrooms. Great for eating lunches from Coop grocery in the room because Gstaad can be expensive. The spa down stairs we used daily. Kids swam in the warm pool and we went from steam room to sauna. The breakfast is simple and really good. Best coffee in the world.
