Decent value

Had a surprisingly good trip esp at this price point. Many congrats to the management. The good: - decent variety and quality of food. - spotless - mostly friendly staff - large rooms - plenty of sports facilities - sympathetically designed resort - felt like visiting a village though it was vast - thx to the wonderful Ruth for accommodating a special request for my wife's bday - most of the other guests were relatively well behaved - the small minority we saw getting hammered from mid morning were Brits - the Germans were generally very well behaved (sun bed booking aside). ;) To be improved - health and safety was my biggest gripe: spin bike in gym broken but not taken away or fixed even though I'd told them, sandy downward sloping uneven steps to the beach will result in a bad injury and lawsuit if they are not careful, mountain bikes not sufficiently well maintained with uneven brake pressure - facilities under utilised eg. Spin studio only had 2-3 classes a day which were fully booked, - archery facility was great but used only twice a day with just one instructor between 15 students for beginners. Perhaps have more but smaller classes? - service in the canarian and grill restaurants was poor and almost non existent (Italian restaurant was great tho) - tui transfer teams and reps were hopeless - one was late and kept us waiting an extra 30 mins after a 4 hr flight and with a 2 hr coach journey ahead of us. - reps at resort were useless as previously noted. - a bit far from the airport and a bit isolated - Jandia town about an hours hike away along the beach IF the tide was low. Otherwise it was a uphill / downhill hike either along a dirt track or the motorway. More

Winter break

Just got back ,great food with lots to choices. This is a very big hotel but easy to get round . But is a bit dated . Staff were all very hard working and also very friendly.a choice of restaurants that you could visit were also very good. 80 minute transfer is a bit of a pain. But in all had a great holiday .would go back.More

Great Hotel - Will be back

We stayed 2 weeks Nov 2015. A large hotel with rooms in blocks. The rooms are large and well appointed, maid service is excellent. All communal areas are very well maintained. Although a large hotel there are many quiet areas - even when hotel is full. At peak times in the main restaurant can be very busy and somewhat noisy but fine given the large number of people being catered for. Four or five more waiters would relieve the pressure at peak times which cab be a little manic but certainly acceptable. There are 3 specialty restaurants which are very relaxed and excellent, you first need to be at reception at 8 am to book for the next night - well worth it. The All Inclusive is very good - probably the best we have experienced. All the staff were very friendly without being over the top. Thanks for a great stay More

First time going away in winter

Traveled with my nan to get some sunshine and relaxation by the sea in fuerteventura. It was our first time going on holiday during winter usually we go on holiday between june and september, It was also our first time going to fuerteventura although we have been to gran canaria and across to tenerife before. We usually book with first choice/thomsons. We have been on all inclusive holidays before but this was our first experience going to a club magic life hotel. Our flights were smooth and we arrived in 4 hours and 20 minutes. We had to wait a while for our transfer to the hotel due to a missing pushchair. Travel time to the hotel was 1 hour and 10 minutes. The coach was full up and there was no other stop offs to drop of others to any other hotels which was good. It was nice to see a coach load of people all going to the same hotel. On view out of the window on the way there was so many hills and mountains, not many houses, loads of goats. It was so beautiful and the roads are really good there. On arrival to the hotel we were greeted with a drink and the process of checking in was not long. We were able to go to the italian restaurant for late lunch and our suitcases were dropped to our room whilst we explored. We were in block 15, ground floor I paid £50 for a sea view. Our room had a sea view from a distance and was directly overlooking one of the large pools. My nan thought the room did not warrant £50 extra. There are better sea view rooms nearer to the beach though in my opinion. Room was perfect, nice soft bed which was very comfortable. Our room had plenty of plug sockets, large bottle of water in fridge on arrival. Two soft chairs in the room and a large balcony with two chairs which was nice. You can collect further supplies of water from either wunder bar or pool bar when required. Free safe which was a bonus and check out time is 12:00 so no need to get a late check out room for us. Nice to not have to worry about extra expenses whilst away. Friendly hotel cats which are well looked after. At least 2 shelters for the cats through a charity which provides both food and water for them. Nice to see the hotel also doing there bit for other charities. They collect the bottle caps which are given to a charity for disabled children which is nice. Also the hotel is doing other things from recycling, to trying to save water to reducing waste of food for instance which is also very good for the environment. The hotel is very clean, staff always busy from keeping the garden areas tidy to the cleaners keeping everything nice and clean. This hotel is massive like a large village. I like coming to these kinds of hotel. There are at least 3 different pools maybe more and plenty of sunbeds. No need to get up early to reserve. The hotel was very busy with lots of people. The hotel coped with the amount of people very well. The weather was 21-25 whilst we were there. It did rain a little, maybe going on holiday earlier in september to october might guarantee you less rain. It was getting more windy as the week progressed so do remember to bring some warm clothes to put on in the evening especially. It was still hotter than the UK so we were happy with the weather anyway. There was so much choice of food and drink, the hotel tries to cater for everyone from breakfast down to dinner. I did find that at times the food at the buffet could have been slightly warmer. There was freshly prepared food being made and I really liked the selection of fresh meat and fish available. There is also themed nights which we enjoyed. I really loved the selection of puddings. You could eat and drink all day long if you liked. We had 3 meals per day mainly in the magico restaurant but did also have toasted sandwich and chips one day by the pool snack bar. On our thomson/first choice booking they said there would be only one bar open but in fact we only noticed one bar shut and the rest were all open throughout our stay. I did worry how the bars would cope during full capacity though as space in these areas are quite small. When waiting to be served I did not have to wait long at all. I also enjoyed having the banana milkshake, pancakes and waffles at breakfast time. I also enjoyed treating myself to irish cream liqueur, rum and coke, coconut liqueur and coke and trying the cocktails available. I also had irish cream coffee one evening made at the wunder bar. Please be aware that cocktails are already made up to be served. But I enjoyed the other drinks which were all served very strong and tasted very nice. There is a wide selection of soft drinks and fruit juices which all tasted nice. We went to all of the alcart restaurants grill, italian and canarian. You need need to get up the day before 8am to make the bookings and all alcart restaurants are open everyday. It made a change to be served at your table. Although the alcart does involve going up to the buffet in the restaurant for part of your meal and a limited selection of choice for the main and starters. I really enjoyed the canarian and if we were there longer than a week I am sure we would have liked to have returned to the canarian restaurant again. All staff do work very hard from reception, gardeners, waiters, bar staff, restaurant staff, cleaners, security etc. There was one day I needed help to open our bathroom door which somehow got locked and the cleaner helped resolve this. On another day I had problems with my safe which was dealt with quickly by security. Although I felt that the staff were not as friendly compared to other hotels which I have been to. Maybe it is coming to the end of the year and everyone is getting a bit tired. There is a tip box at reception. I opted to provide a tip at the end of the holiday. The tip box has sections for different departments which you want to give tips to. Also noticed whilst we were there the hotel was doing some painting. There was things that were looking slightly warn. But guess this is expected with a hotel which is open all year around and I am sure that any issues will be dealt with over time. I was very disappointing by the first choice reps. I found the hotel reception to be more helpful than them. The hotel receptionist ordered our taxis to go out and helped answer questions from collecting our luggage at the end of our stay to questions around cost of taxis. I found that the reps were trying really hard to sale excursions rather than being the friendly, helpful people that I am used to on holidays. I always book through a tour operator as I feel safer doing this but hope in the future I have a better experience with the reps next time. This was a concern from start to finish of our holiday. Even on our journey back to the UK there was some technical problem at the check in desk at the airport but the reps did nothing to help or resolve the situation so we needed to rush and did not have any time to look around the airport prior to our flight home. I felt that they could have done more to help resolve the problem personally. This resort mainly has a large amount of germans, then english followed by other nationalities such as sweden and finland for instance. I found that there were a few people who were friendly and talkative. Whilst others just looked at us like we were from another planet. This did not put us off as we still enjoyed our holiday. We were aware prior to booking that this area of the island is enjoyed and popular by germans. We are glade we came but maybe we would try going to the north side of the island next time. Please also be aware that the beach below is a nudist beach. Also the wellbeing centre at the hotel has a nudist section with outside area which are overlooked by hotel rooms. If you do not want to look over nudists whilst you are on your balcony you will need to request another room if you are allocated one of these rooms. Personally we used the textile sauna twice, we were not bothered by the nudists and carried on enjoying the sauna experience. I was not also bothered by the nudists on the beach but maybe others might be such as those with younger children so its something to be aware of. I went down to the beach once, I also believe that thomson/first choice needs to be clear on there website about the stairs leading down to the beach. I am concerned that someone might seriously hurt themselves trying to get down the main set of stairs by the pool. I personally found the stairs by private lodge section easier to get down. The beach from above is beautiful but when the tide is in there is not much of a beach. Personally I think it would be great if the hotel can provide a shuttle down to the beach or in the future build a more safe way to get down such as ramps or a lift. I worry that someone might really hurt themselves one day. We personally went out in the taxi to Jadia and Morro Jable and found the beach there to be much nicer. We also went by taxi to Costa Calma for a change. Taxi prize was not too expensive. Unable to go by bus as bus stop was too far away. We do usually make use of the local buses. I found this hotel to be romote, it is not possible to walk anywhere as there is no real paths out of the hotel unless you walk along the beach. This did not spoil things as we had the option of going by taxi. We did not go on any organised excursions this time. We really enjoyed the amount of activities and the shows in the evening. I did yoga, salsa, stretching, back fit. If I had been here longer than a week I am sure that I would have done more fitness classes. The animation team were brilliant both in the shows and being instructors. There was also a few outside performers in the evening too which made a change. There was a few nights were there was no shows in the theater which was a shame as I found the plaza bar in the evening to be too cold to stay and enjoy the entertainment there. So we ended up going to the wunder bar, sitting in the lobby areas and then returning to our rooms some nights. I would have liked more entertainment available in the theater or it would be nice to have piano playing or other light entertainment in the lobby areas. I also found the late night music to be too noisy from our room which was slightly annoying all you could hear is the beat into the early hours of the morning. If I had been travelling with my friends it would have been fine but I was travelling with my nan. Wi fi is free, you get access code to use on 3 appliances. The wi fi is a bit hit and miss sometimes it would work and the next minute it was not working. Good to send whatsapp messages shame wifi does not work better though. Did not spoil things as I did not go away to be on the internet all of the time. TV in room only a few news channel in english. It would be nice to have some other channels but again we did not go on holiday to sit and watch TV. We went to enjoy other things. I like the club magic life concept and maybe one day I will go to another club magic life hotel somewhere else in the world. We do not usually go back to the same hotel. We like to try different hotels so maybe in the future we will come back to fuerteventura but it might not be to this hotel only due to our choice of enjoying going to different hotels. Thanks club magic life fuerteventura for a really enjoyable winter holiday it was very enjoyable. To everyone coming to this hotel, enjoy yourselves :)More
