Recently returned home from our second visit to the Louis Colossos. My partner and i were once again hugely impressed by the staff and how they went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed a fabulous holiday. Reception and restaurant staff deserve a special mention for their welcome and being so helpful every day. Whilst i`m sure the refurbishment during the winter will be impressive we actually enjoy the present facilities at the hotel and would come back again in its current condition. Lunchtime Pizzas are still amazing, the youngsters delivering the evening entertainment are full of energy all day and every day and the food in the main restaurant offered plenty of choices for all tastes. Yes the rooms are dated but spotlessly clean, with the pool and beach areas an absolute delight. Thank you to all at the Louis Colossos for another wonderful holiday. Al & JaneMore

We are just back home after a two week stay at the Louis Colossus. Yes the hotel is due to be refurbished, however, the staff were excellent. They made us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was good, with midday barbecues and lovely Greek salads. The puddings were excellent, also water melon always available, which was perfect in the hot weather. The entertainments team entertained us every night without fail, they were fun, energetic and family entertainment. The hotel backs onto the beach - perfect. Now for the best thing for me 'the swimming was not too deep'. I could swim! For anyone who is not a confident swimmer this pool is for you.More
I always swore I would never visit the same holiday hotel more than once. This was my third time! I arrived very early in the morning and was still greeted with a friendly smile and fast check-in.My room was superbly clean and the sheets sparkling white. I'm only going to tell you about my first day, so just multiply it by 15! In the morning it took me ten minutes to get to the dining room for breakfast as I was greeted along the way by holidaymakers I had met on previous visits, and also the hotel staff who somehow managed to remember this one lone guest..... Even Mr. Poli the General Manager was up and about and greeting guest into breakfast! He always meets you with a beaming smile and genuinely cares about his guests. As always there was a fantastic variety of cooked and continental style food available. So I sat on the terrace and enjoyed breakfast in the morning sun. Later on I was greeted by the ever present Mr. George. He is one of the most helpful managers I have encountered in any hotel anywhere in the world. I requested a couple of essential items, and they were in my room by the time I returned. The rest of the staff were as welcoming, kind and helpful as you could wish for. I rested on the beach and cooked at about 35 degrees....I swam and floated for 30 minutes and the sea was warm and clear. Then..... the smell of the beach bar barbecue caught my nostrils and it was time for mega salad and freshly barbecued chicken! Eating 15 feet from the Aegean, with a light breeze blowing, Heaven! And then back to the beach for a few hours. Back in the room... a good hot powerful shower revived me, and after a sleep with the ice cold air conditioning blowing nicely it was time for evening meal. Perfect. I like to mix and match my food and there is a vast variety to choose from. Ice cold wine and beer on tap (dangerous but appreciated!) Back onto the terrace to pass several hours eating, drinking, talking and watching the excellent Animation team sing and dance their hearts out. Then to the disco, then into Falaraki! (only visited Falaraki twice as I'm a bit old for all that now!) I met some great people on holiday and we had some interesting times.... a special thank you to the lovely Russian lady who drew a tattoo template on my arm and nicknamed me "Byvaly"(Which I believe means 'worldly wise'). Thank you to the beautiful Elayni, Ireni, Stevi, Tsambika, also Mr. Kiriakos, George and Poli, and to the rest of the staff who treat me like an old friend. Summary: The hotel is not a five star... it's a beach hotel that runs like clockwork but is quite old. However, it still feels good, like your most comfortable pair of shoes. It is getting refurbished in stages over the next couple of years, but it's lovely as it is. People are ultra-relaxed, that's how it will make you feel. So, have a chat to anyone, from anywhere. Russian, Norwegian, Polish, Welsh... all of them like to make new friends! I have written several previous reviews of this hotel in more detail. Enjoy your holiday!More
We stayed at this hotel from the 15th-22th June 2016 in room 330. we were greeted at reception by a lovely, friendly and helpful lady. It was about 9.10 pm. before check-in us in, alound us to get some food before resutrant closed at 9.30... Witch was fabulous as we had a long day travelling. Once we got checked in we rushed to our room so we could explore the hotel and grounds. Okay the room was a little basic but hey it was clean and we only had 7days to explore Rhodes so we were happy ð. (I must add you have cleaners everyday that do a brilliant job) Plus the view we had from the balcony was amazing we had one of the best veiws. We could see the beautiful beach, pool's and the stage. Everynight there was a show. The hotel is lovely â¤perfect for everyone. So don't believe the bad reviews!!! The staff go out of they way to help you any time of the day/night. I have so much to write about the hotel I highly recommend you vist. I know they having a revamp at the end of this year. Ive already discussed with my partner about coming back to see how it will look. I personally dont see anything wrong with this hotel. (you don't go on holidays to stay in a room anyway) Theres a hairdressers in the hotel to how amazing is that. I didnt have time to get my hair done as we where always off out. There also artist ð¨ next to the hairdresses I wish I could spell his name... If you do vist this hotel check out his art. I had a picture of my cat donr witch was fabulous........ I can not wait to hang it up (we only got home today) There's also a hotel shop that sells everything you would need water/gifts/swim wear and beautiful dresses. We where there every day to get our daily energy cans and my daily chocolate bar lacta so yummy (wish I bought a few to fetch home) The food was yummy , something for everyone. (freshly made pizza I was in pizza heavn) All waiters where happy and friendly. The only negative was no free WiFi But is it really a negative? (No!) My partner and I found the no free WiFi fine. We weren't glued to our social media pages the only time we use our mobiles was to take photos of this beautiful hotel and location. Thank you for making our stay perfect. Hopfuly we'll be able to return soon. Ps Thank you for our free cookbook the day we left im definitely gonna try them all out. More
Just returned home from the worst Thomson holiday we have ever experienced (we have enjoyed many over the last 10 years) The hotel is now aimed at Russian, Polish and Germans. We was in a very small minority of Brits. Breakfast on the first morning seemed pleasant untill we cracked open the boiled eggs !! (See photos) after complaining nothing was done, they remained the same for our entire stay..If a 4* hotel cant boil a simple egg ??? We arrived for our evening meal at 9pm, poured a wine and a lager, placed them on our table and proceeded to get our food. We returned to the drinks gone and table re layed, when we told the waitress she just shrugged her shoulders. Went back to get fresh drinks to find the wine machine turned off and all the glasses gone ? It was now just after 9 and the resteraunt closes at 10. Staff seemed uninterested and generally unhelpful..we asked 3 different reception staff if we could watch Formula 1 on the sunday. We was told none of their tv's get that chanel they only have football so go across the road to the cafe and pay to watch it !! We decided to investigate ourselves and as soon as we turned the bar tv on the F1 chanel came straight on !! Despite the bar man being in the bar next to the tv setting up coctails for a welcome party, he wouldnt serve any of us a drink and we was told to walk downstairs to the outside bar. Entertainment.. same people wearing slightly different costumes singing more or less the same songsevery night except for one. Outside entertainers came in and provided us with a great evening of traditional Greek dancing. In the main bar there is a keyboard player and female vocalist EVERY night. This is so poor it would be better advertised as a comedy night !! She sings one normal song ( very badly) then she walks off un interested while the keyboard player plays a russian type song. This would be fine if Russian or other nationalities we present in the bar but the 6 people suffering it were all british !! All inclusive ends at midnight then u must pay. If you ask for water they try to give you tap water out of a jug so be careful. The bottle of water in your room upon arrival isnt replaced when empty, our bedding wasent changed all week, the air conditioning was almost worthless in our room and when we showered the waste water bubbled up through a drain in the bathroom floor so you step out into a pool of dirty water. It seems to us that all the staff have given up and are pinning their hopes on the forthcoming referb at the end of this season More
