Sporthotel Reisch

There are a lot of nice points to this hotel. It is central to the old town and walkable to the ski lifts (5 mins). Front of house staff are charming and there are nice touches such as a light breakfast brought to the room for our early departure and a gift of honey on check out. The après ski cabin opposite the hotel which is owned by the them is also great fun. We stayed half board with Crystal and the included breakfast and dinner were great. You can order from the regular menu at dinner with only two items requiring a 10 Euro upgrade. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. However, what leaves a slightly bad aftertaste is that we were charged an extra 120 Euros after being forced to request a room change after our first night, when the street noise made sleeping impossible. The windows do a reasonable job of reducing the noise but the second issue is you have no thermostat and the hotel runs the underfloor heating way too hot. Therefore I had to choose between unable to sleep due to noise or heat. It wasn’t just us either as we were informed the other couple who had arrived with us were also requesting a room change. The only difference with the new room was it faces a rear car park rather than the street and the fact it is more expensive reflects an acknowledgement by the hotel that front facing rooms have a noise issue. That said, for the rest of the week as it turned out the street noise was much reduced so it’s going to depend on your timing how much this effects you. Room temperature can be controlled by reception but even when turned off completely the room still seemed to run a bit too warm for me. Crystal rep Maria was a shining example of customer service in helping with this issue but did seem to be left picking up the slack from the hotel’s reservation manager who had a bit of a like it or lump it vibe. In summary, a very nice hotel if you can live with the heat / noise issues or pay a bit more to upgrade to a room at the back

Stayed for one week over new year, booked through Crystal. E-mailed hotel beforehand to request a room with a bath which we kindly got. We were in a legend room which was lovely, large, modern and very clean, large bathroom, two double wardrobes, plenty of storage space, mini bar, safe. Only criticism is it was at the front of the hotel and the noise is really loud from the outside pubs, well into the early hours, 4am was the worse time! No chance of having window open and needed earplugs even when shut. The heating in the room was controlled centrally by reception which we found very odd and quite frustrating, we were cold when we got in off the slopes but boiling hot in the middle of the night and with the noise situation, that meant we couldn't open a window so therefore boiled in bed! Food was exceptional. the best food we have had on a skiing holiday in Austria. You choose 3 courses from a full menu each night, everything we had was delicious and good size portions. Staff all very friendly, we especially loved Ann at breakfast time, she made our morning each day, so lovely and friendly and offered lots of helpful advice about the area, a real credit to the hotel. At night we did often have to wait a long time for our food, the restaurant is open to the public so it was really busy at times. The bar attached to the hotel was great with excellent service. However don't expect much from the boot room, it's a shed in the garden! We opted to rent a locker at the main gondola station, the best $42 we spent, made it so much easier not having to walk in ski boots and lug skis about as although hotel central, its still a good 5-10 minute walk. Overall a great holiday in a beautiful hotel, just a couple of minor niggles but the food and room more than made up for them.

We have just returned from our second holiday at the Hotel Reisch which was amazing in every way! The rooms, food and staff are in our opinion all exceptional! There is not much more to say other than we very much look forward to our next stay - it really can't come soon enough!
