Liberty Hotels Lara Beach

Good food and friendly staff came for two weeks pasta shack through the day is really nice . Only thing to imporove is having branded sauces such as heinz mayonasise and real Nutella as it really makes the difference. Can’t faylt the food or staff everyone’s so friendly

Just returned from a 2 week stay at Liberty Lara, travelling as a large group of 12 ranging from aged 2 to 72. We chose this hotel because of the fabulous reviews on Tripadvisor. Unfortunately the reality didn’t live up to the high expectations we had. It’s a nice enough hotel, with direct beach access. The pool areas are lovely, plenty of sun loungers and shade - beware loungers are all ‘reserved’ by 7.30 which is madness. The rooms are good - request an even numbered room for a view We preferred the daytime restaurant choices a la carte options are fixed menus, not full a la carte. We ate at the Italian and Turkish a la carte and found them lacking in atmosphere, and the food hit and miss. During the day we enjoyed the Sunset snack bar and the pasta house. As with all AI hotels food does get repetitive after a while, but overall the food was good. The choice for children was poor, the kids buffet same every evening. Spaghetti bolagnaise, sausages, chips or breaded chicken the only things on offer. The waffle hut/ice cream place did sandwiches and cakes in the afternoon. It was very hot and watching the evening entertainment in the amphitheatre was like a sauna, as a result we only ventured in there twice which was a shame as the acts were decent. The colour party was great and very well done. The Silent bar had entertainment of an evening but again the heat made it quite uncomfortable to sit outside. There are limited fans in the bars. More fans would have made for a more enjoyable experience. We sat in the lobby bar several evenings as it was a bit cooler there is no music obviously due to its position, so evenings were a bit flat. Kids club rubbish, although our daughter still wanted to go, but she enjoys drawing which seemed to be all that was on offer. We took a cabana which we enjoyed and was the best day we had. Most staff friendly and all worked extremely hard. The two guys who cleaned the pool and bar areas never stopped even in the extreme heat. Didn’t appreciate the maid hinting for tips, the hotel should put a stop to this practice.
