Mayor Capo Di Corfu

We stayed at the hotel due to a cancellation in Turkey. Accommodation is lovely individual buildings, exceptionally clean everywhere. Pool areas lovely. Food was reasonable and plentiful. There is nothing outside of the hotel unless you want to walk around 40 minutes into Kavos which was near on closed. Lefkimi is basically a bridge and a few restaurants which are lovely but you need to get a taxi. The staff were great.

Have just returned from a week at this lovely hotel sadly the weather was awful only 3 sunny days in a week with massive thunderstorms ,lightning and torrential rain the rest of the time So much water fell that a lot of the hotel s gardens were flooded including several paths Hotel was spotlessly clean and all staff wore masks, food was served to you in the dining room as all meals are buffet style The food was very good, a wide range of salads which changed daily, wonderful desserts plus ice cream bar, and vegetarian options There was a good choice of mains It was nice to see local dishes and apparently prior to Covid they had a carvery, cooking stations and themed evenings in the restaurant There is an a la carte restaurant which you can have one meal in unfortunately when I asked it was fully booked and wasn’t open the last 2 days of our stay as the hotel was closing at the end of season Our room was fine , a few minutes walk to the main building where the restaurant was and a nice upstairs indoor bar area The only problem was we could nt access it , as husband is in a wheelchair and there was no lift This meant we could only use the outside pool bar and in the evenings it could be chilly It would not be difficult to put in a lift for a wheelchair and I did say this to the management It would have made a difference to us as some evenings we had to go back to our room as not warm enough to sit outside We had a disabled accessible room with a bathroom with grab rails around the toilet and a shower seat which folded down from the wall There’s tea and coffee plus kettle and fridge in the room and a free safe also There were ramps into the main building and around the pool however the ramp into reception was cracked at the bottom and needed repair The other problem was there was no disabled accessible toilet in the hotel or pool area so that meant a walk back to our room for husband to use our bathroom Again this would not be too difficult to rectify The staff were really lovely and helpful, in the dining room Christina was always on hand to make sure we had everything we needed and Dawn who is the guest service manager was equally helpful Reception staff were always friendly and ready to assist I had emailed the hotel to ask if they did a taxi transfer as my husband was not able to take the Jet 2 coach as he can’t climb the steps The deputy manager had arranged for a taxi to pick us , told us the price both ways and also the name of the driver and included his mobile no The hotel is situated right at the bottom of Corfu on the beach with views to the mainland there is a water sport area and volley ball net on the beach Staff organised Aqua aerobics and fitness classes by the pool on certain days, darts and children s movement class There’s a kids club with its own pool and water slide There was nightly entertainment programme in a small theatre next to the dining room but it started at 9.30 we didn’t go to any so cannot comment The hotel is a nice place to relax no noise in the evenings near the apartment blocks but there’s nothing around the hotel except for a small supermarket and as it’s an hour from Corfu town you would need to hire a car There is a car hire just outside of the hotel Jet 2 had no excursions running due to Covid so we were not able to see anything of the island This was a shame as we would have liked to have seen more of the island than just the hotel in our stay However we had gone for a rest and recharge and a week did just that for us We enjoyed our stay despite the atrocious weather, it was our bad luck we had only 2 days really warm sunshine

We have just spent a week at this hotel and what a lovely relaxing time we had. We were uncertain how the COVID restrictions and social distancing would affect our holiday but was pleasantly surprised how we could switch off from all of the worries and just relax. This is not to say measures were not in place, on the contrary, face masks were worn by all staff at all times and guests wore them when indoors but could remove their face coverings once you were seated in the restaurant - tables and chairs were sanitised after every use. Hand sanitiser and cleaning stations were situated throughout the property and other areas. But you could enjoy your time as it didn’t interfere with you relaxing and soaking up some sunshine. All staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. There is a good selection of tasty food and you can tell that the kitchen staff take pride in preparing the meals for guests. We really wanted to take a holiday this year and we were very happy we chose Corfu and Mayor Capo Di Corfu for our destination.
