Tisalaya Park

Enjoyed my weeks stay in the Tisalaya Park Apartments. All the staff I met were very friendly. The apartments were very clean, bed comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with plates and cutlery. Had a wee issue with the door to my apartment jamming, reported it to reception and it was fixed later that day. Two very nice pools although the bigger one was a bit too chilly for me. I ate lunch in the restaurant twice but because there wasn't a lot of guests using the restaurant in the evening usually ordered takeaway or bought food from the wee shop down the road and ate in my apartment. Maybe if there was some sort of entertainment in the evenings that might of encouraged more guests to eat there. I would definitely recommend Tisalaya Park apartments if you just want to relax by the pool during the day. For evening entertaiment there are a decent selection of bars/restaurants in Holiday World a few minutes walk down the road if you find it too quiet in the evening and Maspalomas and Playa Del Ingles are a bus/taxi ride away too.

After a very long gap of some years I came back to Tisalaya Park last year and stayed twice, this year I have been back again and I now feel confident that I can give a good review as the standards here have remained good for all three stays. Firstly I would have to say how good the staff are here, very welcoming want to help and never make you feel like your a nuisance. Location wise Tisalaya Park is not walking distance from anything much other than Holiday World so you will need to use transport but hire cars are cheap in Gran Canaria as are taxi's so unless you really are on a very tight budget getting around will not be a problem. The apartments are of a typical design of a good size and would are fine for two (or three if you use the sofabed), They are perhaps just slightly starting to show that its a few years since they were last refurbished but the standard for this level of accomodation is still good enough. You get the basics, Kettle, Coffee maker, microwave etc. and a good selection of pots and utensils if you want to cook for yourself. There is free TV but as other reviews have said no English channels so not great if your a TV lover, my view though I don't go holiday to watch TV. The pool area is well maintained and there are three pools, two adult. older children and one small children's pool, all very clean and safe. Plenty of sunbeds and they discourage early morning reservations with a beach towel, it does happen a bit but not as much as at other resorts. Next to the pools is a restaurant which has a decent menu, more choice that some apartment complex menus, the food is freshly cooked not a buffet and I have always enjoyed the food. Of course its not quite the same level as you would get going out to Restaurants on Faro Boulevard or Melanores but for something convenient on your doorstep its good enough. One thing I will say which will be a positive for some and a negative for others it is quiet there. There is no music playing, no activities and no entertainment and for most of the people staying there that is exactly why they (and I) like it. If you are someone who wants to play loud music in or outside the apartments and wants to be shouting and partying at night then this is not the place for you and the staff will (and do) enforce that. I think this is a good place to stay for those who don't want to spend to much, want to relax and are not anticipating 5 star luxury, unless anything changes I will continue to be a regular there

OK hotel with a nice pool area. Cosidering the price I got great value for money. Everything at an ok standard, good beds and nice outside is what I focus on when I visit the Canary Iceland, so this was perfect for me, No complains at all.
