My husband chose this hotel for my daughter and me on our recent trip to NYC for my 50th birthday, and we were more than pleased with his choice. Our room was big by NY standards, had a partial Empire State Building view, and was right by the breakfast room. We were worried about noise from the elevator or breakfast room, but never had any. We had a little noise from the outside (facing the street) one night, but mainly from people coming out of the bar across the street, not traffic noise. Breakfast was an amazing array of delicious fresh bagels and pastries, and coffee and tea are available all day. A bigger tea selection would be nice, but again, we had no complaints. The breakfast area was super tiny, but we were next door, so we always took our food to our room anyway. Everyone from the front desk, concierge and housekeeping was pleasant and helpful. The location is perfect- steps from the subway, walking distance to Madison Square Garden, the Empire State Building, 5th Avenue, and the Highline. We loved the convenience. Beds were super comfy. We had such an amazing trip and would definitely stay here again!
A true alternative to the well known chain hotels

we took a chance by venturing out of Marriott/Hyatt/Hilton bubble and boy are we glad we did. Check in was friendly and fast. Our room, admittedly a jr suite was huge and well appointed. Not huge for NYC standards, but huge for any city. The price difference between a room and jr suite was negligible, so if you are more than 2, I strongly recommend you consider upgrading. The room was well appointed, clean and very functionable. It was also quiet with the exception of one morning when we had neighbors from hell who decided that their kids can run, scream, cry, jump and bounce around for hours in the morning. But they only stayed one night and there isn't much the hotel can do. The hotel offers free breakfast and the breakfast room isn't much more than a breakroom at work, but again it is functionable and good. They have milk, juice, tea, coffee, GREAT fresh pastries, bagels, cream cheese and jelly. Yes, it is not a 5 star buffet, but it saves you easily $10 per person vs having to buy it at a coffee shop. And, the hotel does not have to offer it as most other hotels in its price range don't do it. The staff was great and pleasant it was really enjoyable stay. The hotel does not offer parking but has a deal with a nearby garage for $35-40 per night. The hotel is on Broadway and 25th street and it is roughly a 20 min walk to Times Square. When we are back in NYC, we will definitely come back.
Great service at wonderful centrally located hotel!

We went to NYC for a girls only trip and stayed for 4 days. Having not been to NYC before we were unsure of transportation and attractions. After booking the hotel I received a very welcoming email from Anthony, the hotel concierge. His email was a great greeting with information about car/shuttle service to and from the airports in addition to show and attraction information. I definitely took advantage of this email! Anthony and I emailed back and forth for a month prior to the trip. He was so gracious and helped book transportation to and from the airport to the hotel. Once we got to the hotel, he greeted us with a smiling face and took the time to go over everything we needed to know in great detail! His welcoming kindness was so much appreciated! All staff in the hotel was kind and welcoming. We unfortunately had to use the hospital system during our visit, but staff graciously got us a cab. The hotel room was very spacious and clean with the Empire State Building out of the window! Breakfast area wa very small, but there are trays in the room to take your breakfast back to your room for a more private dining experience. Great selection of pastries, bagels, and beverages! We so enjoyed our stay at the Broadway Plaza Hotel! Would highly recommend!

We stayed for 5 nights and were very pleased. The location is excellent, rooms quite big - bathroom also and a very comfy bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfastroom was tiny though, but ok. Just use the tray at the room and grab whatever you want to eat - and take it up to your room.
Great stay at Broadway Plaza Hotel

Stayed for 5 days 9th December. We were pleasantly surprised that our room was huge by New York standards, it had 2 queen beds and table & chairs & large bathroom. It was very central to all the attractions, round the corner to 5th Ave, Empire State & Flat iron building in the other direction, couple of blocks to the subway although we walked everywhere. It was definitely a bonus having breakfast included at the hotel although the dining room was super small only a few small tables no where near big enough for the size of hotel but we took ours back to eat in our room which most people did & worked out well for us. It was usual NY continental breakfast - bagels pastries, donuts & muffins - not healthy but hey it set us up for the day and meant we could get out for an early start sightseeing. The only criticism & suggestion would be to get an additional toaster! There was only one & the queue to use it to toast the bagels started at 6.45am so if you didnt get down for breakfast by 7am expect a very very long wait as the toaster took 5 mins to toast one bagel, .... such a small thing but would make a huge improvement. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, but a special mention and thanks to Antony the concierge. I contacted the hotel prior to our stay to enquire about a few things and Antony rang me in the uk twice to explain attraction pass packages and e mailed me lots of info prior to our trip, which was really helpful. He got us great tickets to see the Rockettes Christmas show at Radio City at discounted price. We booked the attraction tickets with him when we arrived at the hotel & he worked out the best deal for us but wasn’t trying to sell us anything just get us the best value. He was always available to help & give recommendations & ask how our day had been, nothing was too much trouble & he also booked us our transport back to the airport. He is definitely a huge asset to this hotel. We would not hesitate to stay here again, but If you do visit at this time of year expect it to be extremely busy, crowded & expensive we knew it would be and it certainly was! But it’s Christmas in NYC & it’s magical
