The staff was very friendly and helpful. The accesible room was perfect. Very close to many attractions shops and restaurants. It has no restaurant. Fully wheelchair accessible. We were totally satisfied with the service and the friendly attention of the staff. Thanks
all good but for a couple things

we really liked the staff that helped us in every way. the room was quiet and comfy. we had our dog and it was a bit of a hike to the dog park. that's 1 thing. the 2nd thing is my husband was ironing his dress shirt and a glob of mold came out of the steam sprayer. really nasty black blobs on his sleeve. stains that are not coming out. the helpful staff gave us a business card to speak to a "director of front office." no response. so we contacted the front office listed contact from their website. this communication became insulting. several emails telling us we were mistaken about what and how it happened and it was our fault. it's very lame and it's no way to spend your time arguing with someone who wasn't there and won't accept responsibility for their room amenity being filthy and ruining a guest's clothes. so - here's my review: the dudes running at the top suck. this "front office" has no regard on how to treat customers. won't go back because of them.

This is a great hotel to stay downtown NYC. The staff is kind and always willing to help the visitors. Walking around you can get to most of the attractions in NYC. Close enough to central park and to Central Station, you are a walk away from everything.
Sophisticated boutique hotel in Midtown

Just back from a 3 night stay at this lovely boutique hotel. Travelled with a friend: we had a single room each. Both rooms very nice & spacious. Immaculate bedding, pleasing queen size large beds for single occupancy rooms. Nicely furnished with plenty of lamps, desk, armchair, coffee machine, fridge, TV, good bath with over head shower. Toiletries provided (eco friendly wall dispenser style). Plenty of towels. Large wardrobe/bathrobes. Only thing missing is a kettle (if you’re a Brit like me - probably would like to be able to make a cup of tea in room!) This hotel is well situated in midtown. Literally a couple of minutes from Grand Central Station. Service excellent. It’s obviously an old building from perhaps the 1930s? and has real charm. Seems quite newly decorated in the rooms. Calm atmosphere in reception area. I would highly recommend this hotel. My room was 1401 on 14th floor - no traffic noise.

Two day stay ended up being a three day stay because of the Covid-19. For the most part the front desk was excellent. The one bright spot was the 1st shift door man who was very attentive and helpful in trying to make my stay in NYC as painless as possible his name escapes me at this time and that is such a pain because he was an absolute joy. He went above and beyond to help me with shopping and finding places to go sightseeing. The other door men I found to be a waist of time. Most of the time they weren't at the door because they were at the front desk talking. Too many times I had to open doors all by myself or was totally ignored by them at all. The kicker was at check out. I had two suitcases, not only did I have to struggle to get them down a few stairs, the guy literally watched and did not offer a hand. As I waited for my Uber that same door man was so busy talking at the front desk that he could not be bothered to open the front door as I got my luggage outside. Another issue I seen. This hotel offers fruit flavored water. The whole entire weekend that I was there the water had oranges in there and they kept it fresh with ice, on Monday as I checked out the water was warm and there was no ice to keep it chilled. Everyone should know that you CAN NOT keep water like that at room temperature because the fruit will spoil and go bad. I let the front desk know when I first noticed two hours before I checked out and also again when I checked out that they should probably change the orange slices and add more ice to keep it at a safe temperature those suggestions were ignored.
