Louis Sofianna Resort

Me and my now husband picked this hotel for a base for our Cyprus wedding. Through Thomas Cook although at time off booking we wasn't told about the photos being just the plans. We booked it due to the modern look and newly refurbished status. The pictures did not disappoint to the reality. 18 off us used this as a based 16 of us for one week and 2 of us for 2 weeks (me and my now husband). I had, had prior contact with the hotel due to some plans for the wedding but once arrived and having personal chats with staff we decided against our first plans. Upon arrival (from what I remember) we were greeted and checked in quickly and were offered welcome drinks and some food as past dinner time. And had help with our bags to our room. Our room was modern as expected clean and tidy to a very high standard. We soon filled it with all our wedding stuff. But there was plenty of space to store our stuff and and luggage. Rooms also had tea and coffee making facilities as well as a fridge. We had a swim up room for added luxury for our wedding holiday and the balcony had 2 sunbeds an umbrella and table with 2 chairs. The pool was cool so take a deep breath when getting in but was nice on the hot days. Around the pools and bars there is plenty of seating and sunbeds. The sun beds are comfortable there is also lots of pool tables and umbrellas available. The umbrellas are adjustable height for convenience. The sun beds on the swim up room balconys are more some comfortable with cushions, as well as the chairs too. Rooms were cleaned daily apart from a Thursday which was a shame as this was the day of our wedding. I believe we could have booked a room clean for a small charge but we didn't know this at the time. But wasn't a big deal as my now sister in law had a quick clear up before heading to the wedding. On the wedding day me and my bridal party were delivered a bottle of champagne to get ready with on the day although I did want to take my vows sober as did my now husband. But I did have a glass while getting ready. But the time went so quickly didn't have time to do much else apart from getting ready. Andreas also arranged with my dad and sister a pick up in a golf buggy to the reception to collect our car. He took us round both pools every one was waving, clapping and cheering it was so much fun. That was only the beginning. The hotel was located close to the harbour which was full of bars and restaurants and has some on the walk down. Which made for an interesting stroll of a day or night. At the harbour was also the bus station. Which was very cheap €1.50 any trip. And also at harbour you could book your boat trips and excursions. The hotel bars had plenty of drink options there was milkshakes, slushes and soft drinks. Plenty of sprits and liquors. A variety of cocktails, As well as the usual beers and wines. The hotel also doesn't allow you to refill your own cups for hygiene reasons, but they do use paper cups and straws. The restaurant and snack bar food is the best i have ever had at an all inclusive. They top up hot food little and often and keep it covered up to maintain the heat. The food was always so flavoursome and hot. Each evening there was a different theme to keep things interesting. Meats cooked and served in front of you and also carved. Meals seems to have foods to go with each other, which you don't always find at all inclusives. Lunch was lighter but still had hot meals but a vast selection off salad and cold options. At breakfast the chefs would make omelettes and fried eggs to order and the que was never too big and you certainly never waited to long. Also, had your typical full English as well as continental and cold options. The snack bar was aslo filled with various options and a selection of items would change daily to keep it interesting if you wished returned day after day instead of going to the dining room. In the snack bar was also a whippy ice cream machine. We did visit the zoo while in Cyprus and also went to coral bay beach. We wasn't to far from Kings avenue shopping mall so we also strolled there. We was in Cyprus for two weeks and didn't do half as much as we hoped. But we had booked to return for our one years anniversary through Thomas Cook for two weeks with a swim up room. But, With Thomas Cook going bust we have had to re book and with time getting closer going back and us and not knowing how quickly our refund will be processed we have had to cut our 2 weeks in to one week and we eventually did manage to rebook a swim up room. That was hard to find but eventually found it on sunshine.com. It has been said that hotel is in negation with tui and jet2 but nothing confirmed as of yet we are hoping so, such a great hotel does deserve to land a deal with one of the two companies. If not both. If we are rating a holiday (hotel + flight package) only we are a 100% in agreeace that this hotel is more than worth its 5 star rating we gave it. The hotel is clean tidy and modern and we are delighted to be able to return. The staff are amazing happy, friendly and polite. The bars staff learn to know what drinks you want. Special mention to alina always happy smiley. And likes to have a chat. Andreas, miss niki and greta were also very helpful before and during our stay. However, if we were rating our Thomas Cook wedding rep (which we aren't) that would definitely not be the best star rating we could give. Overall, we are firm believers in that you get what you pay for. We paid a bit more than we usually would for a holiday. But it wasn't just any holiday it was our wedding and honeymoon holiday. We had the best wedding day and amazing holiday. We are so glad we paid a little bit extra to get alot more luxury. We loved every minute and its the first time I have ever cried when going home from a holiday. The hotel and holiday was faultless. If you umming and are ing over this hotel. Id say book it you really wouldn't be disappointed. We really would 100% recommend. I know we were maybe pains at time but we thank the hotel staff for all their help and support throughout our stay and with the wedding, we cannot wait to return next may. Just returned from 10 amazing days at this hotel and I wanted to write this asap. Can’t recommend this place enough and I hope it continues despite the recent Thomas Cook issues, I’m only gutted that we didn’t get to experience all it’s glory because of this but in no way did the staff let this get them down. We were so well looked after from start to finish. We had a fabulous sized room, lovely and quiet over looking a small grassed area. The room was well serviced everyday and we were well situated for the lovely long pool by the swim up rooms. Food was fantastic, we are not fussy eaters but my Husband is a chef and could not find fault. Selection was fantastic with different theme nights and the staff amazingly attentive, we were rarely without a drink or left with dirty plates (quick little mention for Gary the cat too 💕) The pool was very enjoyable and we were lucky enough to have plenty of choice for sun-beds, the peaceful recharge we had been waiting for. The hotel is well situated for the Harbour and all amenities and we enjoyed many a daily walk. Lastly I just want to take the time to mention the amazing staff. We’ve never felt so genuinely looked after and they are a credit to the hotel! I wanted to learn everyone’s name but just to mention a few....In the restaurant-Dimitris, Eleni, Stella, Livia, Eva, Sofia and her lovely Omelettes and of course the wonderful George what a guy.....At the pool bar-Elona the best cocktail maker but most of all the beautiful Alina and caring Marios who were just lovely to us and became special friends. Sorry I have gone on but I can’t say enough, this place has a special place in my heart now! All the best to all of you xx

Hope it's still running lovely staff and pleasant good food served in a beautiful clean and well run restaurant couldn't find anything to complain about in the hotel the staff made us feel very special from start to finish
