Altair Apartments

Stayer her over Christmas, rooms clean with kettle and toaster, fridge and hop, basic utensils, lovely view, large balcony, WiFi not brilliant, bar great, also used sister hotel next door, on my brother in law Birthday on Christmas Day, we came back from beach to find a lovely cake in fridge, bubbly, cake, crisps, champagne flutes, lovely surprise as we had been having trouble finding a cake, very thoughtful gesture, cannot thank them enough.

When booking this hotel I didnt expect much from the 3* rating and the pictures, the pictures do not do the Altair justice at all. This hotel is spotlessly clean, rooms are a good size with a big balcony looking down to the sea and right over Puerto Rico centre (we were on floor 5) Getting to and from the hotel is up and down quite a lot of steps (about 200) which didnt bother us however if we had come with the kids we would of used taxis to come back up. But a great location, central for everything. If i had to say a negative about this hotel it would be how uncomfortable the beds are! Would defo stay again, a great place.

We came to this hotel in a group of 6, all in our mid 20’s we like a lively (but also calm) environment so we had the best of both worlds here. The little bar by the pool plays music but not to loudly so you can still enjoy it / relax if you want to. The guy behind the bar was absolutely LOVELY! He’s the star of that hotel. The rooms were perfectly clean and look much better in person than in pictures actually. Large balcony and regularly cleaned. The pool isn’t huge but it does the job, you can use the larger pool in the sister hotel next door (just ask at reception) they have an entertainer and all sorts going on all day, there’s a big weekly BBQ you get invited to by the entertainment team so ask them when they come round what’s on. We didn’t go because of time but heard great things. The only thing to consider is the probably (200) steps up and down to the complex at the bottom- we always walked down and (sometimes) back up if we were feeling fit but a taxi was €2.50-€3 so it was barley worth the walk. The beach is close and so is the complex. Basically a perfect hotel if you don’t mind a bit of noise, from the complex. The bars play loud music until 4am but with the door closed it’s not so bad, I took ear plugs and managed to get off quickly most nights. (Have a sangria if you are struggling) anyway all in all great hotel would stay again!
