We were not sure what to expect when we arrive in Iceland in these uncertain times. But this hotel is amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The reception staff could not do enough to help us enjoy both the stay in the hotel, and finding places to eat and sights to go see in these troubled times. My wife and I would recommend this hotel because of the location, facilities and friendliness. We said that Iceland was a once in a lifetime trip but this hotel has changed that view. We will be back when the virus has passed and this hotel is the place we will come. Thank you so much for the welcome, the help you provided and the recommendations you gave us.

We stayed on the 16/03/2020-19/03/2020 what a fantastic hotel. Spotlessly clean. Hotel staff so friendly and welcoming, shops, restaurants all on the doorstep. If we ever revisit Iceland we will stay at the storm hotel again for sure.

Was really pleased with the hotel! We stayed 2 nights and it was perfect for us. You can come and go as you please, which is useful going northern lights hunting. Hotel is very clean and warm. Breakfast was really nice, continental style, but a very good selection. I'd really recommend staying here and we would if we explore this side of the island again
Lovely stay, lovely staff

We came for a short weekend break. Hotel was lovely and clean. The staff were brilliant and ever so friendly. Super happy. Rooms were clean, spacious and lovely and warm. Very good hygiene measures had been taken for the recent coronavirus. Very happy with the stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Great Accommodation for Staff Service and Convenient Location!

The stand out features of this small to medium-size hotel are the friendly staff and location. Our room, although small, was bright and clean. Beds are comfortable. It was relatively quiet, even though our room faced the street. As seniors, we appreciated the quietness. Toiletries (combination shampoo and hair shampoo) are minimal, but keep in mind this is a three star hotel. Bring your own hair conditioner, moisturizer and Kleenex tissues, etc. Housekeeping did a nice job of providing fresh bath and hand towels (face towels not provided). Breakfast, from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., was good, continental fare with hard-boiled eggs, cheeses and deli meats, hot and cold cereals, various breads and pastries, fresh fruit, curried herring, pate, tomatoes and red peppers. Juices include orange and apple; tea and coffee are available. The crowds for breakfast tend to be during the first hour before the tour bus pickups begin (for us, the tour buses arrived at 8:30 a.m.). Better time for quieter and less crowded breakfast is 9:00 a.m. and thereafter before it ends at 10:00 a.m. BTW, there is happy hour where prices of drinks are discounted. Front desk reception staff, as many of the previous reviewers have remarked, is helpful and pleasant. Shout-out to two helpful staff members are Einar and Arnar B, who are patient and kind, smiling warmly while helping me with phone calls to the tour companies. Our arrival from the flight brought us in the morning to the hotel before the 2:00 p.m. check-in. However, we were assigned a room an hour or so after arrival, which was much appreciated. This hotel is to be recognized for their staff! Location of the hotel is a draw for those, who want to be close to the main shopping street, Laugavegur Street, restaurants and museums. It is within walking distance to the country’s largest church, Hallgrimskirkja and other sites of interests. The famous hot dog stand is at the end and a block down of the main shopping street. There is also a thrift shop, worth a stop by, for the Red Cross on Laugavegur. Across the street of the hotel is bus stop #12, where the tour bus and buses to the airport stop for passengers. It is tremendously convenient for pick-up without having to drag suitcases across icy sidewalks. The sidewalks, while we were there in mid-March, were ice-coated, not salted. Good idea to wear sturdy boots with good tread for city walking and for the tours. Will try to download a map to show the location of the hotel. Shops on the side streets of Laugavegur are worth stopping by. Our purchases for family members came from these stores off the main drag. In summary, for the price, value, service and location of Storm Hotel Reykjavik, we highly recommend this accommodation in the World’s most northern capital!
