Perfect Early Autumn Get Away!

We are no strangers to Almeria but this was our first time visiting heading into the autumn months. The temperature was a very comfortable average of 26 decrees with a light breeze. We booked a 4 night, all inclusive stay from the 1st October 2019 to 5th October at Roc Trinidad through Jet 2 and the whole experience from start to finish was excellent. I do understand & respect people’s reviews that the interior decor is not what most people would class as 4 star, however what the hotel lacks in ultra modern room furnishings it more than makes up for in charm and customer service. We checked in with the lovely Ana and as many have said before she is extremely helpful and efficient. All the reception staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. The bar staff and restaurant staff are lovely and they ALL work so hard to serve guests as quick as they can. It was nice to see the hotel director and his deputy working alongside their team on a daily basis. The hotel is spotless too and is a credit to the domestic team. Plenty of sun-beds available this time of year. There are two pools at this hotel, and one is in a quiet area for adult use only – bliss! The hotel location is great and is facing the beach which is a mixture of sand and shingle. You can hire a sun bed on the beach (until mid Oct we were told – they close for the winter season until March) for just 4 Euros for the day or 25 Euros for the week. You can take your all inclusive drinks out of the hotel onto the beach too (it really is only a short distance from the pool bar). We stayed on the 5th floor, room 522 and had a sea & main pool view. We hired a room safe at a cost of 16 Euros. You can also hire towels and a kettle, but we brought our own. The room is air-conditioned, has a fridge and a hair dryer. There is plenty of storage space for clothes etc. Our room had a balcony with table and chairs. All Inclusive – for us there was plenty of choice when it came to drinks and food. I know some reviews say the food was bland and repetitive but we didn’t think so. Yes, they always have pizza, chips and salad but I think that is a good thing, especially if you have a fussy eater (adult or child). I personally love fish and there was always a great selection of different fresh fish (and meats) cooked in front of you in the restaurant. Deserts were plentiful as was the fruit! Quick note: Guests are allowed to wear shorts and t-shirts in the restaurant but pool wear and vests are not permitted (rightly so). Well done to Roc Trinidad for banning one use plastic cups! I hope other hotels follow your example. When you arrive at the hotel you buy a token at reception (1 Euro per token which is refunded when you check out). You exchange your coupon daily for a reusable cup from the pool bar. Drinks in the evening are served in glass. There are two bars open in the evening. Check out is at 12 noon but we paid for a late checkout till 6pm as we had an evening flight home. This was a cost of 35 Euros and well worth it in my opinion. Almeria is a quiet resort in comparison to places like Costa Brava and Costa Blanca which is why we always come here for a short break in the sun. Don’t expect a wild night life! Almeria is a place for relaxation in the evening, quaint cocktail bars etc; it really is a lovely place to visit as a family or as a couple. We (husband and I) will most defiantly be returning to Almeria in 2021 and we would most certainly consider booking in at Roc Trinidad again if availability permits! Thank you for a wonderful stay, our only regret is we didn’t book a week!

Brilliant hotel. Everything you need on your doorstep. Adjacent to the beach. Plenty of space and water sports. Hotel clean and tidy. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Food is varied and more than acceptable. Buy some tea bags from the Spar shop opposite if that's your caffeine hit, the ones here are yuk. So is the house wine served with the meals but you can buy an assortment of bottles at a fair price, most of it grown locally as well. You'll see all the vin yards as you drive in to resort. The area is completely flat, dead easy walking about and a promenade that stretches maybe 3 or 4 miles. Think of Benidorm and this hotel and resort is the complete opposite. Second time here, will come back.

Just back from 10 days here disappointed as last visit many years ago before Orc hotels moved in. Drinks at very limited times, sometimes not at all as machines stopped working regularly, bar by pool shut for no reason and staff short on the ground to say the least. Whilst away tour company ceased trading within 1 hour we were asked to pay extortionate amounts of euros to keep our rooms. One couple with a baby were evicted from their room as unable to pay and luggage impounded including baby good and nappies shame on the manager. Luckily within an hour and phone calls to a too all our bills were paid in full, they gave us the good news by note under the door. Ran out of most things towards the end of our stay including eggs, coffee and vodka.
