Join together a pair of close-to-the-beach hotels, give them an all-over facelift, and what do you get? The fresh-faced ClubHotel Riu Costa del Sol, which is good-to-go for summer 2017.
This place used to be split in two, as the Hotel Riu Costa Lago and the Hotel Riu Belplaya. But, for summer 17, they've had a top-to-bottom refurb, and have joined forces as the ClubHotel Riu Costa del Sol.
Location-wise, you couldn’t ask for much more. The beach is right over the road, through the hotel’s gardens. And although it’s at the quiet end of Torremolinos, the centre is only a five-minute cab ride away.

this is my second time at this hotel and once again had an amazing time, it's all been renovated since last year and looks truly fantastic, the rooms are gorgeous with a very stylish bathroom, some rooms have two rooms so there's plenty of space, there's no extra cost for the safe, fridge or beach towels like some hotels. There's 3 large pools so there's plenty of room to sunbathe, the children's area is so good and there's a gate so no child can escape! Staff are very friendly & helpful nothing is to much trouble. The three restaurants are all very good with plenty to choose from especially the Italian one with waiter service. There's entertainment on every night in the main bar but if you want a quiet drink there's two to choose from, there is nothing I can fault with this hotel and I will be booking for a third time for next year...More
WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED
Well what else can I add that others have said before me, this is a first class hotel, if you find fault with this hotel your very hard to please. Flight to Malaga from Bristol left on time, arrived at the Riu about 11am and to our surprise the room was ready, the reception staff were very welcoming, even telephoned the room to see if it was to our liking. The animation team work really hard and they do an excellent job. We booked a couple of trips with the Tui rep, one to Gibraltar, I must say it was a long day but well worth it, visited the rock, our guide was called Paul from Bland Travel who was very informative and pleasant. You do have plenty of time for shopping and sightseeing. The other was a free trip called a blanket trip. We were taken to a factory outlet and shown products made from Marina Wool, very interesting but declined to buy, after we had a tour of Malaga town with our guide Dawn ( I think that was her name) she also was very informative, all in all a very good day. Well done to making our holiday one of the best and the bonus was the weather was fantastic too..... no rain.More
We arrived on the 13/09/2017 for one week.Very clean reception friendly and helpful staff we checked in and we were told where our room was on the second floor of the hotel only one problem was it was a bit of a walk from reception. In what was the Costa Largo Hotel, nice room and views of the sea and the mountains and also the swimming pools. You have to do the same walk to the restaurant at all times when you go for all your meals, unless your staying in what was the Belplaya Hotel. This is still a very good hotel the food in the restaurants is excellent and the staff are very helpful and friendly nothing is too much trouble. There is three swimming pools and three restaurants and a sports bar.The beach is a short walk across the road and if you want to go the shops they are only a short walk away. There is entertainment during the day and at night and there is two pubs just across the road from the hotel if you want to get away from the hotel.Rooms are cleaned every day and there is a fridge and a safe in every room.We really enjoyed our stay and will be going back again to the excellent hotel.More
Lovely Hotel Brilliant Staff
My husband and I have just spent a week at this lovely hotel and had a wonderful holiday. Our room was fantastic!! It was spotlessly clean (as was the rest of the hotel), tastefully furnished and the bathroom was FAB!! We were in room 2311 and the view from the spacious balcony was amazing with a sea and pool view. The staff were very helpful and friendly nothing was too much trouble and they always had a smile on there face. The animation team did a fantastic job keeping everyone entertained, no they were not professional acts but they were excellent none the less and their Michael Jackson was as close to professional as you could get very well done to them all!! The food was plentiful and there was lots of choices so I really cannot understand the comments to the contrary that some people have made!! Anyone complaining about this hotel are obviously not happy unless they are complaining!! Also if you asked for branded alcoholic drinks you got them which was great as I only drink Smirnoff so that was a big plus!! All in all we had an amazing stay this hotel and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will definitely be returning next year!!! Well done Club Riu Costa del SolMore
Went away for mine and my mum's birthdays, didn't for one second expect this holiday to be so good. Reservation was made in the asian restuarant on arrival for us and when booking into the italian resturant for my birthday i was presented with a candle and a bottle of bubbly. Not to mention the staff also left a bottle of bubbly in the hotel room for me too. Beautiful rooms, beautiful area and beautiful food. The entertainment reps were absolutely brilliant and worked so hard to make sure everyone's holidays were worthwhile.. friendly staff throughout the hotel. My mum's birthday was our last night and Joshua/Brian arranged her to be presented with a certificate and got the entertainment hall to sing happy birthday to her. Felt at home as soon as we arrived and were included in everything from day one. Massive thank you to Brian and Martin for going the extra mile and making the experience even better. Definitely looking at returning next year at some point. Perfect hotel for all ages.More
