Amazing experience, amazing Island & amazing people!
Where do I start?! It was my first visit to Jamaica and I absolutely loved it. I visited Royalton with my family for 11 amazing nights and each of us didn't want to leave that place! The commute from the airport to the hotel was a short distance, maybe 30-45 minutes but it flies by as you're busy taking in the beautiful scenery. When arriving to the Royalton White Sands you are greeted by one of the kind staff members at front desk, who will sit you down and get you a drink straight away... My poison was Rum Punch which went down a treat by the way lol. Once settled in, we had a chance to explore the resort which was spotless. The selection of restaurants were incredible, there was something there for everyone! A big shout out to all of the staff at the Culinary Experience, especially Elton & Alexis - it was extraordinary. During the daytime there is plenty to do around the resort, such as Beach Fitness Bootcamps and activities with the Vibe Team (entertainment)! It really is so much fun to get involved. Jeffery, Kevin and Andre who were a part of the fitness team smashed it. They were all top guys, and had classes lined up for everyone! Yoga, Beach Fitness, Aerobics... The list goes on! Working out wasn't a chore at all with these guys as they made it fun! The only word to describe the Vibe Team is AMAZING. Their work ethic is very admirable and each and every one of the members are brilliant. Everyday throughout the day they would have a load of activities lined up for some fun on the beach! Whether it was Beach Olympics, Football or other games it was always good fun to get involved and watch! The fun didn't stop there however, each night they would also have entertainment lined up which was always nice to watch after some dinner! They had shows on such as Michael Jackson & Bob Marley Tributes, and some spectacular live singing! I really have to give credit to these guys because Royalton wouldn't be what it is without this team! Want to say a big thank you to the lovely girls Tashawna, Princess and Roshay and not to forget my guys Jamau, Kevon, Ophel and the rest of the Vibe Team, you guys certainly made me enjoy my stay at the Royalton even more! After the evening entertainment the party would always head over to the Sports Bar! The atmosphere was always good in there, and you were also able to order food up until 1am which became handy a few nights! Yet again, a big thank you to the beautiful girls - Samantha and Brenda and also the bar man Howard for the amazing hospitality and service. Last but not least was our concierge Shevanese! She certainly knows how to make you smile. She is brilliant at her job, and will pull out all the stops to make sure you have all the information you need. All of the staff members are fantastic. I didn't meet one staff member who didn't have a smile on their face or was rude. As well as the staff, the people who visited the resort were also amazing. Everybody was on the same vibe, to eat, drink and be merry! I don't usually write reviews like this, however this time I felt as though I needed to share with everyone how amazing my experience was. Overall Royalton White Sands was just simply brilliant. I cannot fault it at all. In fact I am already trying to make time in my calendar for my next trip haha! The staff became more like family, and for me this made it worth it. I didn't want to leave them! Blessings to everyone at Royalton! P.s - Sorry if I had missed anyone out, so many names to remember! All of you were amazing! Hope to be back soon!More
So Close to a 5 Star Experience. A Solid 4.5 Stars.
We just returned from a week at the Royalton White Sands. This was our first trip to Jamaica, and our first time going all-inclusive. Rooms 4 Stars. We reserved a room with one king bed for my wife and I. We were given a room with two twin beds. Upon entry we informed the butler that we reserved a room with a king bed. He stated they were full but that he would have the beds placed together with king sheets. This was done promptly and the bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and comfortable, but average in size with small bathrooms. For this reason I can only give the rooms 4 Stars. Service 5 Stars. The service was excellent resort wide. This includes daily room maid service, restaurants, bars, pool and beach area, etc. Every single employee was friendly and helpful at all times. This is the best overall service I have ever experienced. Facilities 5 Stars. The pools, beach areas, entertainment areas, etc. are clean, comfortable, and very nice. The pool and beach areas have plenty of comfortable chairs and towels provided. The staff is always organizing various activities near the pool and beach. Games, volleyball, etc. There was also music/concerts live a couple of nights. The beach is absolutely beautiful. Food 4.5 Stars. The buffet is as good as a buffet can be. The food and service was very good. There are 8 restaurants plus the outdoor Jerk Shack (excellent Jamaican jerk chicken) near the beach. The food and service was excellent at all restaurants except one. The Armadillo (Tex-Mex Cuisine) provided terrible service, very slow food delivery, and the food was not good enough to finish. Several tables of people left before their food came or without eating their food. Also, the Jade (Asian Cuisine) was never open. Finally, I would have rated food 5 Stars, but the Armadillo was 1 Star. Bars/Alcohol 3.5 Stars. The standard drinks are very weak. If you tip the bartenders a few dollars where you visit the most, they will make you stronger drinks. The pool bar closes at 5:00 PM which seems early. Tipping We never felt pressured to tip anyone. Not once. When we did tip they were very grateful. The Royalton White Sands is an excellent all-inclusive choice for couples or families. The rooms, although a bit small are clean and comfortable, the food options and quality are excellent, the facilities are very nice and enjoyable, and the service is excellent.More
Love this resort
Before booking our holiday we poured over reviews, so many moan about insignificant things which make it hard to get the info you need so I hope you find this useful. *Airport transfer - 30 mins travel but with drop offs we were on the bus 2hrs *First impressions - hotel is beautiful, modern & clean, the photos on here don’t do it justice. The staff were all welcoming and happy to see us. We were led to seats and drinks orders taken & we were given ice cold towels to cool down. We were given luggage tags for our cases & they were bought straight to our room, other chains we have had to take them ourselves so this was a treat. The wristbands were a real nice touch, a smooth disc on a soft bracelet which doubled up as your room key. No forgetting your key or loosing it in your beach bag! No towel cards either, you can have as many as you like. *Rooms - rooms are small but modern and clean, beds are huge, comfy and have a solid mattress, unlike other hotel chains that sometimes push two doubles together. Approx 40 US tv channels Fridge with branded drinks Tea/coffee making facilities Balcony had fantastic views of pools & beach (7th floor room 712) Bathroom had a huge shower with rainfall head, temperature and pressure fluctuated at peak times but not a big deal *Food & Drink - 7 restaurants with no need to book (only Zen) You can attend as many as you want over your stay, just turn up. Quality wasn’t an issue as other reviews mentioned, our food was always hot, well presented and delicious. The buffet will cook meat to order, and there were 4 omelette stations at breakfast, as well as fresh fish, cold meats, cheese, fruit, continental and cooked options, I was here 2 weeks and didn’t get to try everything. You have to try the jerk chicken hut on the beach at lunch, there was a big queue but so worth it. The Zen restaurant is a must - the staff are what make this an experience, not just dinner. Drinks - this resort includes brands such as Hendericks, Bombay Saphire and Tanqueray as standard, Deshawn in particular was great at the swim up bar - he knew my order and would have it ready when he saw me swim up. The coffee shop was a nice touch, like a Starbucks style chill out place with relaxing music & pastries. *Beach - beach is manmade and so missing that soft sand underfoot feel as its only a few inches deep, the sea is clean, clear and warm. We were not bothered once by locals as we have been at other resorts. *Pool - White Sands has 3 pools, we stayed at the adult only one and didn’t have any trouble getting a lounger, no getting up early to lay towels out like other resorts. This pool is where the entertainment is based & they do play loud reggae music, if you are looking for quiet then I would suggest the top pool. We spent our first day here and couldn’t hear the music. You can also use the lazy river and slides which are on the Blue Waters side. Pools are clean, warm & well maintained. *Entertainment Daytime entertainment was great, staff are all friendly and create an atmosphere where I felt comfortable to join in the games. Daytime entertainment 10/10, Tash, Princess & Jamal worked hard and became like friends, the games were creative and a good laugh. However the evening entertainment was lacking, it needs guest interaction, and a bit of cheesy fun - I felt at times the hotel was trying to be too professional, which meant it lost the fun. We also used the kayak and pedalo boats in the sea for no extra cost. *Fitness - huge thanks to Jeffery, this man helped me achieve things I didn’t think I could do, and I found myself setting my alarm to attend his boot camp classes they were that good. He made me feel great about myself, his energy was catching & I wish I could borrow him at home for a few months, I’d be a size 10 in no time!! Andres yoga classes were beautiful on the beach, he is very calming. The fitness programme here would make me return, providing Jeffery was still here, he is passionate about fitness and his guests and made our stay one to remember. *Overall - This is a fantastic hotel, the staff work hard and are friendly and happy I honestly do not know what people find to complain about - reading some of the reviews I think we must have stayed at different places!! If you book this hotel I don’t think you will be disappointed, it gets 5 stars from me. More
Fantastic honeymoon resort
Myself & husband stayed at the Royalton White Sands for 10 days on our honeymoon & had a brilliant time. We stayed in the honeymoon suite with a swim up pool, jacuzzi bath tub & it over looked the party pool so you could always feel included in what was happening in the resort i.e. Activities, fun, games, aerobics. The fitness instructors were on hand every day running morning abs classes on the beach, ninja warrior competitions, aqua aerobics & much more. They were extremely friendly and welcoming & were great fun to be around. I would recommend Jeffery Malcolm in particular as one of the best instructors. The food in the main food hall was delicious and well catered for both meat eaters as well as vegetarians like myself. You could also choose to go & dine at one of the specialty restaurants, where the food and service were great. The hotel staff always gave a warm welcome and a genuine interest in how your stay was, if there's anything they could do, regulatory taking drinks orders whilst sun bathing round the pool etc. We would highly recommend this resort. Fun All-Inclusive Resort with Friendly Staff
Overall we had a great time at the Royalton White Sands. Check-in was easy and then general layout, pools, restaurants and facilities were really nice. The beach was beautiful and stretched a good amount between the White Sands and Blue Waters resorts which you have access to while staying at either. The staff was really friendly and very helpful. The entertainment was good and the fitness instructors - Jeffrey, Tora and Andre were great! The dive shop Nexus Tours, though not officially part of the resort, was on the property and had a great staff. Diving there was worthwhile and fun, but since Jamaica isn't known as a Suba paradise there wasn't a ton in the way of marine life. Good amount of tropical fish and a large nurse shark though. The restaurants were surprisingly good and there was a large variety to choose between. I remember there being Italian, Caribbean, Tex Mex, Chinese, a Japanese Hibachi restaurant called Zen, a Steak House, a Mediterranean restaurant, a Jerk Chicken Hut for lunch and a Buffet available for all 3 meals which most folks had breakfast at. We did end up upgrading our room to a Diamond Club room and they give you a different colored bracelet to access exclusive areas along with your own butler who can bring items to your room and offer a little more service than the 24-7 room service. Our friend Colin kept calling his butler to hang out with him. I will say the only issues I noticed were the regular rooms without upgrading were a little on the small side, the process of upgrading the room seemed to take several hours with a great deal of paperwork and multiple parties and some of the public facilities could use a little upkeep, but those were all minor details.More
