Disney's Beach Club Resort

Everything was so perfect at this hotel: services, food, modern rooms, cosy lobby, close to 2 of the 4 parks. We soooo loved it. Even if it was a busy period of time ( Dec holidays) the staff managed to give everyone the right attention. We entered some other hotels (Yacht club, Animal lodge) and they were too noisy,too large, too dark - we found. If you want a lovely hotel after busy days in the park, Beach Club is better.

We have been DVC/Beach Club owners for approx.10 years now and have stayed every year since. We flew into MCO at approx. 10 am and headed to the resort to hit the pool. We did not get a room until well after 5:00 pm. After being up since 4 am and sitting in the Solarium for 2 hours at the end of the day talking to other folks, they were literally laughing at us as they were given rooms around 2:00 in the afternoon. A trip to the front desk gave a bad attitude that they don't guarantee check in. Well my response was that I don't guarantee an on time check out then. While i was inquiring, the guy next to me was reporting to the desk to get his complimentary room upgrade, I should've hung around to find out how he pulled that one off. No pixie dust for me I guess! During the whole week the sleeping was very quiet, until the last night I got about 2 hours sleep. All kinds of weird noises ALL night. I headed to the front deck in the morning to inquire and was met with a very nice reception and a "what can we do for you". I was so taken aback but I should've asked for a comp night I guess. At that point there was nothing that could've been done, we were leaving. It did dawn on me afterwards, all the decorations in the whole resort were gone overnight. So I don't know if we were near a service elevator or near where some of the stuff is stored? Its my only conclusion as all the other nights were dead quiet. The marketplace either had bagels and no cream cheese or cream cheese and no bagels. The answer from a guy in a suit was a polite sorry sir, busy morning. WHAT? You mean to tell me there are no bagels in Disney world they could've shipped over? Seriously 5-10 years ago that would've never happened, I am sure its a stock/budget cutting sort of thing, you can almost read it on the walls. The GOOD.... as we say in Real Estate, location, location, location! You can walk into Epcot, take a short boat ride or a loner walk to MGM, we went to Boardwalk on New Years Eve and it was a lot of fun. One of the elevators was broken as well for a time so we ended up using the stairs quite often after long park days, not a huge deal but definitely an inconvenience with luggage. Disney had a overall horrendous week with transportation that week anyways. We will return as we own Beach Club, but the whole Disney experience has changed over the years which is a complaint for another place. Thank god our kids are getting older and we are on the downside of visiting Disney properties. If you are contemplating multiple or future trips to Disney, I would recommend that you experience the convenience of this resort at least once.

We have been at Christmas time before, so we understood there would be crowds. But our frustration was more than that.....We started with a lunch reservation to eat at Be our Guest. What a cluster! The machines would not recognize our magic bands to accept the dining plan so we had to pay out of pocket. They told us to save our receipt and the front desk at the beach club would take care of it. Next....trying to catch a bus to the a Beach Club from Magic Kingdom was nonexistent. We had been waiting over an hour and saw 4 buses for the Boardwalk, so we got on the 4th one and walked to the BC from there. We have our luggage sent up to our room. Unfortunately, our magic bands nor the “unlock door” tool in the app will unlock the door. Back down to wait in line for the front desk.....20 min wait. When it was our turn, it took over an hour to “reprogram” the magic bands and “refund” our meal from BOG. I asked about the buses and the cast member told me the Beach Club opted for some kind of rotating schedule, hence less bus service. Seriously, the busiest time of year and there will be less bus service?? Since the refunding and reprogramming took so long, now we figure we don’t have time to make it to our dining res at Wilderness lodge (we had planned for 2 hr. travel, go by boat to HS, then get bus to wilderness). But we only have an hour.... So, UBER it is. Between the 14 of us, that cost over $100 in UBER fares, thanks Beach Club for adding to our expenses 🙁. The next problem was the elevators.......or elevator, because for the most part, only one seemed to work. Now it’s time to check out....... I get my bill via email and instead of a credit for BOG, the guy at the front desk had charged me again for that same meal. Back down to stand in line again for the front desk. I explained it once again and was credited for one of the charges.......then explained it again and the second charge was removed. I asked for a late check out, but of course that was not available for us. We leave our bags with the bell service. Go to the park, come back, get our bags and the magical express driver asks if we would like to board. Part of our party gets on but part of us is still waiting on bags. The bus leaves and still missing two bags. The luggage is eventually found, apparently someone forgot to scan those two bags in. So UBER it is....to the airport. Overall, the room was comfortable, plenty of space and housekeeping did a nice job for us. The location of the resort is also very convenient to Epcot and Hollywood studios. In spite of the problems we had, we found most of the staff to be friendly and tried to be helpful. Just hate that we spent way to much time standing in line at the front desk sorting out problems that caused us to spend money for UBER.
