The main strip does a good line in clothes and shoe shops, and there’s no shortage of beachfront stores stacked with trinkets. But you’d do well to save your euros for the markets if you want to see island life through the eyes of a local. In summer, Cala Millor has its own Thursday market from around 5pm ‘til 8pm. You can pick up Majorcan products like lace tablecloths and leather handbags. And on Friday mornings, a large street market is held at Son Servera, 10 minutes’ drive away. There's a good selection of fruit and veg, plus keepsakes carved from olive wood.
