Holidays to Frigiliana embody quintessential Costa del Sol, with sandy beaches, traditional eateries and open views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Something for everyone

Frigiliana's nestled away in the south of Spain, among the foothills of Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park. The old town's cobbled streets offer a blend of authentic cafés and modern tapas bars, while Nerja's Costa del Sol beaches are just a 15-minute drive away.

The Moors

You can see Frigiliana's Moorish history all throughout the old town, especially in its decorative floor mosaics. On the outskirts of the village lie the ruins of an old fort where the Moors took refuge during their last stand – the hillside has superb views, too.

Historical Andalucia

Not just a beach destination, nearby Nerja – about 20 minutes away by bus – has a 17th-century church and some ancient petroglyph wall paintings in the Caves of Nerja. A 90-minute bus from Frigiliana's Bib-Rambla district takes you to Granada, home to the architecturally breathtaking Alhambra Palace – a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Abundant beaches

There are nine kilometres of beach within a 15-minute drive of Frigiliana, ranging from soft sweeping sands to cute little coves. Most of the larger areas offer watersports, including stand-up paddle-boarding, water-skiing, jet-skiing and snorkelling – a great excuse to cool off in the Mediterranean Sea.
