With a high-scoring shorefront and a postcode that rubs shoulders with Antalya's city centre, Konyaalti holidays are all about energetic daytrips and snoozing on the coast.

Beach towels at the ready

The patch of coast around Antalya – dubbed the Turkish Riviera – has a rep for being one of the country’s best beach-break spots. And Konyaalti – a laidback district on the edge of Antalya City – is no exception. Its swathe packs in over four miles of sand, shingle and sky-blue sea. It’s decked out with a promenade that’s lined with shops, bars and restaurants, too, so there’s tonnes to keep you busy in between tanning sessions.

Kaleici’s frozen-in-time landmarks

If ancient history gets you grinning from ear to ear, you’ll want to make a beeline for Antalya’s old town, Kaleici. It’s a 30-minute tram ride away, or – if you fancy a stroll – just over an hour away on foot. The history books in this part of the city date back to 130 AD, and there are boatloads of ruins worth exploring. Some of its top attractions include a 40-metre-tall minaret and Hadrian’s Gate – a swanky stone archway that was built by a Roman emperor.

Exploring Antalya

The rest of Antalya city centre’s your oyster during a holiday to Konyaalti. It’s the biggest city on Turkey’s Mediterranean Coast, and has all the bits and pieces you’d expect from a massive metropolis – we’re taking a globe-trotting food scene, loads of buzzing bars and an adrenaline-pumping amusement park.
