A breath of fresh air from Ibiza's rave scene, holidays to Puerto San Miguel are all about the beach.

Relaxed vibes

Set on Ibiza's north-east coast in the Balearic Islands off the eastern coast of Spain, this tiny town has got bundles of the island's laidback charm. A blanket of pines covers the cliffs, boosting the illusion of seclusion. Seaside bars and restaurants quench visitors' thirst for nightlife, while the beach is perfect for embracing the slower pace of life.

Sand and sea

The beach in Puerto San Miguel may be small in size, but it's big on style. At 100 metres long, shingle leads to shallow waters begging to be paddled in. Beyond the beach, the water's ideal for scuba diving. Check out the local dive school to explore life under the surface.

Legendary island

Sitting off of Ibiza's south-west tip, Es Vedra rises sharply from the sea. The island itself is off-limits, but glass-bottom boat tours leave from the Ibiza port. This mythical island's been said to have once been inhabited by sirens and goddesses.

Capital town

Ibiza Town can be reached by car in 20 minutes. Head for the old town, Dalt Vila, to admire the 25-metre-high ramparts that stretch along for two kilometres. There's also a busy harbourfront promenade, epic shopping and the chance to mingle with the colourful, fashion-forward crowd that turns up for summer.
