San Agustin holidays give you the best of both worlds. The town itself is a peaceful place, but right next door you've got lively Playa del Ingles.

Low-key town

San Agustin sits on Gran Canaria’s south coast. Although it’s been on the holiday map since the Seventies, the town’s managed to hang on to its chilled-out and crowd-free vibe. This place features a classic Canary Island crop of volcanic-sand beaches. The star of its sandy trio is Las Burras Beach, a windsurfer-friendly spot. If you’re after a break from the beach, there’s a pair of shopping centres where you can splash the cash.

Next door neighbour

Come nightfall, a sprinkling of pint-sized bars set the scene. But, if you fancy turning up the volume, it couldn’t be easier. Party-ready Playa del Ingles is just round the corner. A squad of bass-heavy bars and next-level nightclubs line the streets here. And, once you’ve worn out your dancing shoes, peaceful San Agustin’s just a 10-minute taxi ride away.

Nearby national park

Gran Canaria’s national parks are within easy reach of the town. Drive for 25 minutes and you’ll reach the edge of the Pilancones reserve. Here, you can hike along the ancient Caminos Reales paths, which wind their way through the Canarian countryside.
