On holidays to Kaleici, stylish shops, swanky seafood restaurants and crumbling Ottoman ruins stand side-by-side.

Old-world wonder

Kaleici, the charm-filled old quarter of Antalya, is practically bursting at the seams with ancient treasures – from the Broken Minaret to Roman arches and Ottoman courtyards. This enchanting gateway to Turkey's southern Turquoise Coast is a maze of winding streets with colourful surprises around every corner.

Beach bumming

You'll want to spend many lazy days sunbathing on Konyaalti Beach, just 20 minutes along the coast from Kaleici by car. A mixture of sand and petite pebbles, the beach has a popular boardwalk lined with local eateries – a perfect excuse to feast on fresh-caught seafood.

Ancient odyssey

For history buffs, a visit to the classical city of Perge is well worth the 30-minute drive. Founded in 1300 BC, the column-flanked main street's brimming with ruins of temples, fountains and marketplaces. A 15-minute drive onwards will take you to Aspendos and a massive Roman amphitheatre.
