Historical heavyweight

A landmark spot from the 14th century, the Venetian Fortress of Agia Mavra's a good shout for a daytrip. Even better, it's just outside the island's capital of Lefkada. Once you've checked out this historical site, hop in your car and reach a range of top-notch restaurants and bars in only five minutes – perfect if you fancy a refuel after sightseeing.

Walk this way

With so many scenic walking spots in Lefkas, it's hard to squeeze them all into one trip. The Nidri and Dimosari waterfalls are jaw-droppers, so be sure to snap a few pics. Skaron Forest's also a great place to take shots of the landscape – head there in the morning to avoid the midday sun.
