Pissouri holidays are ace for beach fans and history buffs. The town's right by a Blue Flag strip of sand and shingle, between the time-stamped towns of Paphos and Limassol.
A Blue Flag waterfront
No chilled-out holiday to Cyprus is complete without a picture-perfect beach for you to leave footprints on. And the village of Pissouri has a real good’un up its sleeve. Pissouri Beach lines up over a kilometre of sand and pebbles, which has bagged Blue Flag status. What’s more, in between tanning sessions, you can fill your days with kayaking and scuba diving – they’re on the menu at the nearby watersports centre.
Plenty of grub
The area around Pissouri’s packed with vegetable farms and vineyards, so fresh-as-it-gets grub is a given. Sizzling souvlaki skewers, bubbling vegetable stews and wine lists that ticks off locally grown reds, whites and rosés are all commonplace here. Pissouri first found its feet as a fishing village, too, so the seafood’s well worth a try.
