Holidays to Puerto Banus mean glitz and glamour, with boutique shops, trendy bars and nightclubs galore.

Living large

Puerto Banus lies a little west of Marbella on Spain's famous sunshine coast, the Costa del Sol. This southern stretch of shoreline's home to a number of half-moon bays perfect for splashing and sunbathing. Try Mistral Beach for palm-lined sands and on-the-beach eateries known as 'chiringuitos'.

Beachside bling

Puerto Banus' beach clubs are all-day affairs, populated by party lovers who come for dancing and drinking evenings that go on until the early hours. Days bring a chilled-out version – you can relax with a cocktail on the sands, or head to the marina to play at window-shopping alongside resident superyachts.

Take a trip

An hour's drive south-west from Puerto Banus is the Rock of Gibraltar. Here, you can ascend by iconic cable car to hang out with its famous resident macaque monkeys. Algeciras, also an hour's drive away and very close to Gibraltar's border, offers two-hour ferry rides over to Morocco and the Spanish enclave of Ceuta.
